The BMW E39...a 90s car, has automatic seatbelt height adjusters, the door pockets are fully lined, the sides of the dashboard is soft touch, etc. That was the golden age of BMW interior quality. And amazingly BMW still uses black plastic power window buttons to this day... ruclips.net/video/e9xSs5FmRMQ/видео.html
I agree with Bobby regarding "some" buyers are that attitude. But there are also willing to pay for safety kits but unavailable due to factory standard equipment list. Unlike other countries where their buyers able to tick options and pay the final price. We don't expect every single options car manufacturers must offer but at least offer safety package. Moreover more & more buyers aware the important of safety technology being available and able to save lives. Hope that Bobby able to channel to BMW, Merz or AUDI.
The problem is Malaysia taxes. You spec one item that costs 5k euro, it will arrive Malaysia with RM50k extra after taxes. If they spec this car real high, BMW wont be able to sell as many, thus cannot fulfill the tax income they promised the government at the first place to get the discount in excise duties.
But looking at Honda, Toyota and Mazda and even Volvo they manage to squeeze safety tech into their cars with competitive pricing. Lexus being CBU price but offer BMS, cross traffic, and of course Volvo being the top in safety kits. Maybe we don't understand theb"inside" marketing system how it works. Soon I gonna get a new car for my wife, DEFINITELY Volvo is the right choice for me now 👌 🤔
Seems like a blatant ripoff by BMW Malaysia. After taking into account the amount of kit left out in this plug-in variant (M-sport package, adaptive LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, display key, gesture control, sunroof etc), where has the tax savings gone to? The difference in spec surely more than makes up for the price difference between this and the 530i. What you said regarding the price of the 530e being closer to the 540i in other countries is simply not true, it is much closer to the price of the 530i, albeit still slightly higher. Combined with the extra headache of having to charge the car, the smaller boot space, the lag in transitioning to the combustion engine, the increased weight and the reduced power (when battery is low), I don't see how this is gonna be a big seller for BMW. Also, I don't agree with what you said regarding Malaysian consumer's "high taste, low income" mindset. In my opinion, most Malaysian buy luxury German cars just for the badge and the social status it represents, only buying the "shell" of the car with no regard whatsoever for technological/safety features. That is why many carmakers skimp out on these features whilst maintaining a high price when it comes to the Malaysian market, because the consumers simply don't care and will still pay up solely for the name. That is why Volvo will never surpass BMW/Merc in Malaysia, no matter how hard they try, or how much better their cars objectively are. You'll never hear someone saying "Woah he's driving a Volvo! He must be doing well!" whereas BMW/Merc have been well revered for generations when it comes to luxury. Nonetheless, I do enjoy the casual down-to-earth approach to your reviews. Keep up the good work!
Well said Ryan. I don't necessarily agree with Bobby on some of his views, but I do appreciate his courage of being truthful and honest with what he thinks and his ability to analyse issues and communicate with his viewers which is very unique and very refreshing to watch. I like bloggers who have depth and substance. Their passion in what they do is evident in their work. Keep up the good work Bobby. Two thumbs up
I am confused bobby…using electric system u can drive up to 40km then what u have to recharge it back? Or u still can drive the car using petrol but the electric motor is not functioning anymore. Is this correct?
yeah..if PHEV, i'll go for XC60 T8 or the 330e. I don't like to carry extra weights and the trouble to charge the battery. Charging phone is already troublesome, i don't want to add another one thing to charge..lol
Mr Bobby.. in your opinion, does it very hard to parking reverse or parallel parking or move in tight space in thos midsize sedan? Im planning to buy a second hand 2009 bmw 5 series.. but living in KL, its hard to find park and parking were extremely tight... I have my 2008 accord, i do find it quite good, interms of visibility.. let me know, does it really different or just the same, interms of move in tight space...
Hi guys...Anyone here please tell me what is the battery lifespan until the need to replace it? Ok is this car holds 6 battery packs like the X5e? If one of the battery packs broke down, or the end of its life. Do we change all of them? or we can change just the one broken. Will the car still drivable if battery defective or end of the lifespan if we don't change it?
Hi Bobby. Wanted to get your thoughts. I’m being offered RM251k for the 530e M Sports pre reg by one AD (approx 5k mileage) and another AD is offering me RM268k for a pre reg less than 1k mileage. In your opinion, does the lower mileage of 4k or so justify the higher price of approx RM17k? Thanks
Totally agree on the VW volume button. Lol my OCD friend hits anyone's hand that goes near his volume button haha! Ah you mention about hybrids here and tax exemption... I thought BMW is pushing the Diesel engine over their EV direction?
Saw some videos of yours but I felt this car didn’t made me feel you felt awwww especially when I compared your Volvo’s video.. :) This 5 series when I see it, I felt too plain.. boring .. and kinda tight...

It seems like BMW and Merc’s quality is getting lower as generations goes by. Its in Malaysia only or world wide?
Hi Bobby , is the 2013 BMW 528i worth to buy????? Hope that you can reply me 🙏🙏🙏🙏
When does the actual review start?
Maybe you can try comfort mode with the gear pushed to the left. For your immediate response. X)
The video is fine, great reviews as always. It takes some time to get used to the Osmo though.
Bobby, if we add 360 surround cam on our new car for bmw or even toyota. Will void warranty? I always wondering abt it.
Have you done the e class blue tec?
I am confused bobby…using electric system u can drive up to 40km then what u have to recharge it back? Or u still can drive the car using petrol but the electric motor is not functioning anymore. Is this correct?
the best car isn't always the most desirable
bobby are the front turn signal lights halogen or led?
Bobby, please do the Countryman PHEV. Curious to know your comment on that car. Thanks
Don't bother the PHEV, get the Sports and join the group =)
man I like new tech. ICE is old stuff..hehe
yeah..if PHEV, i'll go for XC60 T8 or the 330e. I don't like to carry extra weights and the trouble to charge the battery. Charging phone is already troublesome, i don't want to add another one thing to charge..lol

Isn't too much bigger than an Accord. And the all round sensors in 2009 BMWs are more superior than Accords of that era. Buy it!
in fact the E60 might be easier to park than your Accord, due to the RWD setup, the turning radius is a lot better than the Accord

It look stable for me ir probably just u
bobby which is a better choice, the new ckd mini countryman S or the BMW x1, btw have yet to see a review of the X1 on your channel!
Given this two, kinda felt the countryman is more premium than X1. But X1 is huge and spacious. Xc40 is coming tho, the best car in its segment.
go for the bmw x1 it is soo good!
