    Yeah, after you send it off to a specialist, you'll have a new motor. Can't wait to see this thing run again. Where did you get those carbon fiber headlight covers, they are sick

    Should have taken it to a machine shop from the start. Would have saved a lot of time. Plus its fairly cheap to get a head redone unless you get porting done.

    Should port the head while you have it out. I'm doing the same with my f22a1 head its my first time rebuilding, well second time since I've already got it started and running just for about a week with a turbo kit.. but had some oil leaks I didn't like at the oil pump housing so I'm just rebuilding it from ground up again. K20a2 pistons a mild cam 272 regrind and a stage one port, if I can break 200whp with a single cam f22a/f23a block.. all motor ill be happy and daily it for years to come. And you should get flat faced valves so your compression will slightly raise for a slight increase of power

    • @Rawrkee
      @Rawrkee  2 года назад +1

      AHhh mann, posting and upgrading the pistons sounds like some real advance work compared to what I know 😂😂 But yeah bro, good luck on your build! Are you doing any of the porting yourself??? Any idea how much it'd cost at the shop?

      @@Rawrkee yeah, I'm doing all the port work myself. I'm almost done with it today, been about 5 or 6 days I've been working on it. But only a hour or so a day.. I hear it can get pretty expensive sending it out to a shop to get it done. Maybe 500-1000 area? Depending on what stage port job and the shop itself on how much they charge hourly. But its not to hard, it took some practice to learn how to shape and form the runners and valve bowls to the way I wanted it, but after a hour I was confident enough to keep going and port even around the valve seats without scratching the seats. All I did was "sight port" used a flash light to help find the lumps with shadow. Then just made a clear path to the valve seats from the intake runners. Its hella worth it in the end tho, when you start to see the results, like yeah. Its looking 👌 🔥 and the satisfaction of your own work.

      Honda heads have very little to port. You get more power gains from polishing the heads. The smoother the surface the less turbulance, and faster velocity. Porting adds air volume which usually does nothing, because only so much air can travel threw a open valve. Now if you increase the valve size with a ported head it will add air volume.

    • @cambodianboost3945
      @cambodianboost3945 2 года назад

      @@sleepwalker29 there's plenty to port on honda heads. Specially a h22a head. If adding volume doesn't do anything why would increasing valve size do anything if it also adds volume.. he's doing a 3 or 4 angle valve job, a port will do wonders with a 3 angle valve job.. usually when I port my heads, I always port whats restricting air flow, increasing volume along with sight porting to allow airflow to travel faster or get to the valve faster. Or exit faster on the exhaust side. I wouldn't worry about any polishing on intake side anyways.. since people dimple that side for better atomization and creates faster airflow with dimples as well. I would maybe polish the exhaust side just to help stop carbon from forming thats it

    Looks like it started to Tulip the Valves. More Than Likely the Valves were adjusted too tight and were under heavy stress. I would definitely have them look at the Valve Seats and make sure they are Save able. I bet those valves destroyed the Seats.

    • @Rawrkee
      @Rawrkee  2 года назад

      Man, that makes sense! I hope those 4 valves are the only issue, otherwise the rebuild is gonna take even longer haha

    I believe valve wear like that, happens when you have some tighter valve springs in there. From my knowledge , your old springs look like high compression valves?.... they dont have that little groove like your new ones. Theyre flat. Was there work done on that engine that you're not aware of? Like before you bought the car?? This could explain why you keep having trouble with that engine man lol

    I came here for the video title but just noticed you car is painted a different color based on your engine bay being white. About to go from red to black on my 5th gen Prelude. Do you have any regrets after changing colors? Is there anything I should specifically mention to my paint guy when handing him the keys?

    • @Rawrkee
      @Rawrkee  2 года назад +1

      Well, my car is actually wrapped red and so underneath, it's still the OEM color. If you're getting your car painted, def get the engine bay painted too unless you don't care to show off the engine bay. Hope the paint job turns out great!

      @Tetsu9701 2 года назад

      @@Rawrkee Gotcha. I told the body shop to "paint my car as if it was black from the factory". I do powerwash under the hood here & there but it would just be too much work & money to remove the engine. SInce the car will now be black, & under the hood will be red, I am thinking of painting the vavle cover red, add red accents, red cold air intake, etc. Like a whole red under the hood theme. :D
