At this point I actually had to switch to playing with controller because I got so mad that, without realizing it, my frustration made me grip so hard I broke the joycon off the right side of my switch

True but, combine that with gathering swarm and you can get to her last phase in like 8 hits with a old nail
Well of course everyone knows wayward compass is good. We don't use it because it's cheating.
I finally beat the Radiance :), man she was really hard to beat, i watched a lot of guides but this one is clearly the best and really helped me, there's really no "cheesing" this boss, all it takes is a decent amount of skill to know her move set and when to attack, the best advice i got here was fighting my own fight, i didn't let her dictate the pace, i'll attack when i know for sure i can do massive damage, and that worked wonders in beating her, now i can't wait for Silksong.
How about beating The Pantheon Of Hallownest while you wait? Silksong's still won't be released until next year you know ;)
And trial of the fools for practice that one was super hard

Despite this being a year old I appreciate you so much. I struggled the most with her first phase, but just taking it slow and only attacking when comfortable lol ally helped . The platform phase was so short I was confused by the time it ended tho lmao. Thanks
I can just explain with example how helpful your guide was , i beat the radieance with only the coiled nail , and shaman stone , spell twister , mark of pride and soul catcher , only 1 soul vessel and 8 masks

A guide like this would have been useful on my first Radiant Absolute Radiance attempt, I did it eventually, after soooo many tries.... Had to learn all the information above through brutal experience, I'd definitely recommend anyone who has yet to beat her, whether AR or regular Radiance to try a spell build if you're struggling. Having minimal contact during the fight definitely makes it easier as you don't have to get as close as often and makes mistakes more forgiving.
My toxic trait is thinking I could do this in one try after watching this video lol

I give you like 90% of the credit for me beating this. I spent probably 2 hours on it before giving up and doing Godhome because I didn't have a chance. Eventually I figured I'd look a guide up and an hour later I got her with 2 masks left. I haven't been so elated to beat a boss since Viper in my first TF|2 run

13:27 Here I think it is best to just hit her with Nail attacks to charge up Soul. The platforming phase after it (13:37) is by far the hardest of the fight, so you're gonna need all the resources you can get.

The Radiance seemed legitimately - well, if not unbeatable, like she was going to take ages just to memorize her attacks. And this video helped me beat her within a dozen attempts. First phase was honestly the trickiest for mesince its the only phase with the spike floors and much more spear walls and spear rains. I was able to get good heals in the second phase since i healed during the laser attack (the one that surrounds her) since the range is a lot more forgiving between the changes. I also was able to get a lot of hits when she spawned on me. The third phase was really stressful since i had 2 masks, which meant nothing since she deals 2 dmg. I didnt let it get the better of me, even though i was practically trembling. I also got it a really risky heal during the first phase. Im talking 3 heals. Im suprised i didnt get hit right after. Im sure that if I hadnt healed there, i wouldnt have made it to the last phase. I also only went the the 2nd and 3rd phase on my winning attempt, so the stress was even more amplified.

Thank you, I never truly realised the potential shaman stone had since I mostly use the nail for fighting, I really onlyq use the spells st the beggining to end radience’s first phase fast, but bqy doing that, I also couldn’t really learn their attacks but after you mentioned audio queues, I started getting to the annoying phase more often.

I found out blue blood charms are really good for this fight, unless you like healing
the hollow knight is quite easy for me, having beat it first try twice today. on the first one i did sealed siblings and on the second im still doing radiance, which i got to the second phase, but i died, thanks for this, this should help!
my charm build was quick slash unbreakable heart unbreakable strength and shamans stone
edit: i recommend getting all unbreakable charms as well before doing this

me beating the radiance with 5 masks and 1 extra soul vessel: Git gud.
When radiance is raining with spears on second face right before she goes down I recommend only using nail attack, then build up a lot of soul so when she goes down heal before starting last stage
I died right as I was reaching the top step on the big beam attack and man was it discouraging, but I managed to beat ‘em. Took a while and I thank the unbreakable strength charm.

For me this is the charm loadout that worked for me if u just cant help but still get hit from time to time. So u need healing. This is my setup
1. Unbreakable strength
2. Quick focus
3. Soul catcher
4. Mark of pride

I thought she was hard after my first two tries, but I then listened to the charm advice here and absolutely wrecked her with the up-spell. Then I did it again a few minutes later because my sister was curious. It's kind of easy if you get lucky enough that you can attack spam, the fight lasts like less than a minute before the final phase

Beat The Radiance 2 years ago and decided to do the game again because it's my favorite, but I was out of practice 😅 But I can't do stuff like Pantheon and Path of Pain unfortunately, and still stuck on Trial of the Fools. That's my next goal while waiting for Silk Song ❤
Did you do trial of fool ? If you are not too good, I recommend charm to heal x2, grub song, spiders, bees and quick art nail. There is a lot of moments to heal. You will get enough soul if you use few spells (unleash all at the last one), and minions can do a lot of hard work, while you stay on the walls. Of course, you need to use art nail to make good damage, but it’s approprite for these fights. You still need to be good when there is no floor.

This might ACTUALLY help
i saw on steam where a guy said to use shaman stone, lifeblood core, joni's blessing, and any 1 notch charm. All you have to do for this is abyss shriek a total of 14-15 times during the entire fight. And of course hit with the nail to gain soul. Since abyss shriek with shaman stone does 120 damage and the Radiance has 1700 health, this is the easiest way to go about it. What this set up does is basically gives you 16 hearts to start with. This means you can get hit about 7 times before you die. And you cannot heal due to jonni's blessing (blue hearts). But given how hard and fast paced this fight is, you won't have enough time to heal. The cons outweigh the pros.

The problem is that you only get to the Radiance after beating the Hollow Knight. And if you die, needs to beat HK again

Just defeated her!!! Those tip’s about only sticking to places you are comfortable with and not using quick focus got me through!
I beat her in a different way, I used Quick Focus and Deep focus to play defensively
I usually use Grimmchild and Weaversong to do damage while I dodge since I tend to dodge more often than attack
I was having a lot of trouble until i decided to do a couple runs with no attacking. I just dodged for as long as possible. After that i got it within a couple tries
Defeated with the charms: Unbreakable Strength, Shaman Stone, Soul Twister, Shape of Unn, Grubsong

It's funny how easy hollow knight becomes trying to beat radiance, I timed it and I can face tank him and finish in about 40 seconds now. Im using longnail, shaman stone, quick slash and strength charm setup and it's good and I'm reasonably consistent at radiance now. Had a heartbreaking death when I was one jump away from victory. Honestly I found spells to not be the way apart from some spell spam right at the start, I thought it left me frozen in place too long and I ended up getting murdered. Given up for today, hopefully will finish tomorrow
I beat radiance and I need to again because I didnt get the achievement
The dream shield can also help immensely in this fight if you are struggling and thinking of giving up completely. If those orbs hit the shield the disappear and can help get away in times of need.
The shield can also come around and hit the radiance for extra damage while hitting with the nail.
The charm you get in the hive is good if you can take damage sparsly
How are you doing two hits at a time when you're attacking? I'm not able to do that.

Just build up soul and spam howling wraiths with spell twister and shaman stone. Absolutely obliterated radiance like that
Man i jsut beat this game for the 2md time! Tbh the first time after losing to this guy so much i cheesed it and used a cheat. But i finally replayed the game and beat this guy. He wasnt that bad afterall. Initially he was so chaotic, but all his attacks are actually easily dodgable. Key is you just have to be pateint - attack when safe to do so and focus on dodging when it gets bullet hell like. You can dodge through horrizontal attacks, position yourself from falling swords, move away from the spikes on the ground, all fairly easy. The laser beams or angle swords can be tricky if youre jumping around, but just stay on the ground and move where needed to avoid it - no trying to attack at this time. The homing missle blasts can be tricky too, just simply let them come your way and jump over them, you can steal hits sometimes if the radiance is near, but getting greddy makes the missles harder than it needs to be.
Even on the 2nd phase with the broken platform same concept, observe what attack hes using and dodge accordingly, make your way to his platform and attack. i think he does two attacks before switching to a different platform - choose to engage on whatvers the one you feel best at dodging at or you can heal. Be pateint and repeat and before you know it hes done. Theres optimal times to land repeated attacks on him - at tbe start of phase 1 i like to spam the up blast 3 times, and then on the 2nd phase he always appears in the center platform first where you can spam hit for awhile before he begans his first attack.
3rd phase wad tricky too because the game makes it feel like you need to rush your way to the top. But dont! The game gives you a lot of time. Again, its hard to dodge the laser while your in the air. Stay on the platform until you see the line of the laser, then jump confidently onto the next platform. Thats the cadence of it, stay still and observe, then jump out of the what of the laser if your in the line of the laser and or on to another platform, stay-observe and repeat.
I can't believe i struggled so much the first time. Majority of the bosses actually seem easier now on this 2nd play through as well. Even the platforming. And i was really going arounding beatinf metrodivanias one after the next, thinking that hollow knight was tougher than them. I dont think so anymore. Its easier and not as good! Grime fights are way better than Hollow knights. I love the countering system in Grime.
