Kind of reminds me of demyx (from Kingdom Hearts) who (in KH2) says Dance Water Dance while they are fighting you and instead of a weapon, he has an instrument

at first i hated the grimm fight because i didn’t know any of the moves but after that it DID feel like dancing. grimm and the mantis lords are my favs

I was so traumatized by the mantis lords that I stopped playing for 4 months, after I got back into the game it was really easy and became one of my favorite boss fights.
Abou the grimm, he's very tough but everything about him wins me over, his design his fluid and fast movement, the way the battle looks like a dance.

Actually if you attack him immediately after the bow but before he disappears it doesn’t count as during the bow meaning if you time it right, you can still get an extra attack in without causing an early puffer fish attack

Also at beginning of grimm fight when he bows you can use the dream nail and he won't get mad and go and use pufferfish attack effectively giving you free soul at beginning.
imagine if you dream nail him at the beginning of the fight and get transported immediately to nightmare grimm lol
Not technically true. Fairly sure there are just frames towards the end of the bow which don't trigger the pufferfish attach when he is hit. I know little of coding, but I can say that dream nailing isn't the thing that makes it so he wont go into his pufferfish attack.

@@cupid3890 that would be funny and cool. Also to add to it make it so if you beat nightmare king grimm you won't get fully upgraded grimm child because the ritual was completed to early.
You can still get a hit in if you time it right actually. I was trying to get him to puffer fish immediately for practice and my attack hit immediately after bow. It was a normal nail attack and the only charm I used to boost it was the quick slash one and Grimm didn’t puffer fish attack me. It was kinda hilarious tho that this was how I discovered this trick because I was trying to get good at one thing but instead I found a trick that makes it a tiny bit easier
Thanks for the hint that you can get him straight into puffer fish by hitting him during his bow. I prefer full spell build so I couldn't hit him at all during his normal attacks and died before getting him to puffer fish. So with shaman stone and grubsong equipped, I hit him during his bow, and abyss shrieked 6 times, which immediately sent him back into puffer fish because of his lowered HP. Then I let the damage fill my soul through grubsong, abyss shrieked him 2 more times, and the fight was over. I started with 8 masks and was down to 1 by the end. Took about 20 seconds total. Would have gone faster if I had equipped spell twister instead of mark of pride.

Amazing tip! It has made him the easiest boss to defeat in my whole run so far. I beat him using abyss shrieked only while wearing Shaman Stone, Spell Twister, Stalwart Shell, Grubsong, and Grimmchild. Thank you very much for sharing this technique.

Legit the part that fucks me every time the pufferfish attack takes three masks every time.
Grimm having such a cohesive attack pattern makes sense because he is preforming a 2 bug dance with the knight.
My favorite boss was Dung Defender. He's just so ecstatic to have a jolly time fighting lmao. His cheerful booms were awesome. The most challenging boss for me so far was probably the soul tyrant. I hated the soul master so the tyrant was him on steroids😂

Really liked the fight. I used you built but ended up switching quick slash for quick focus because I had trouble healing in time. Thanks again!
This was fairly helpful, although I couldn't utilize most of the tips here. The knowledge on the attack patterns helped well. I'm playing for the first time, so I haven't acquired most of the useful tools shown here. Had only 6 masks, Channeled Nail, and charms Quick Slash and Mark of Pride during the fight.
In the end it came to just getting adjusted to his patterns and whittling his health away almost exclusively during the Fire Bat attacks by dashing over them and getting 1-2 hits in. I used Cloth Spikes attack as a window to heal. I'm not so nimble as to Nail Bounce on foes, so I just played it safe after getting comfortable enough.
Only Nightmare King left, but that'll have to wait until I explore the deeper sections of Hallownest, where the last flames are.

I'm currently trying to beat him and it's not easy it's only easy after he beats the shit out of you for 5 hours and you finally get muscle memory

Also for those who aren't sure for charm combo, I would recommend quick slash, long nail, sprintmaster (I know that some find it not great for combat but I find this charm amazing especially for this boss)and sharp shadow.

Thank you for the video. Honestly, after I watched the video, it felt as if Grimm was taking mercy on me because every time I got hit he used the cloak spikes attack to help me heal. Even used the firebats attack the most (I hit him the most during that one, developed my own strategy that differs from this one but requires Monarch Wings + doesn't do more nail slashes than your one, I just felt like mine was a bit easier). Plus I didn't know Grimm bowed, so I "bowed" during that time as well instead of attacking him. Defeated him first try after this video.
Dung Defender, and esp White Defender, is hands down the best boss. The lore behind him and the 5 Knights are also one of my favorites.

Wow this video really helped. Initially I was trying to cheese Grimm but I liked this approach alot. Also I had most random charms - Grubsong , Sharp Shadow , Baldur Shell (helped to get emergency heal in), Lifeblood and Spore Shroom ( idk if this helped or not)
So in summary im fighting him too early

@@nonacrinaHey, that's the amount I had fighting him. Try using Quck Focus, Soul Catcher, and Grubsong. It worked amazingly for me because you can heal up to 3 masks during the ground spike attack, and you always have soul.

That combination takes 10 charm slots and you only have 8 available after equipping Grimmchild, so I don't believe you...

hi if u cant beat grimm i recommend using mark of pride and soul eater without using spells
it makes teh fight much easier cuz u have sop much soul to heal

im watching this cuz iv'e been trying to beat nkg for so long and i finally did! but i forgot how to dodge normal grimm's fire bats in p3 😂
I did this fight with only 6 masks, so I didn't have all the stuff. I found that using Quick Focus, Soul Catcher, and Grubsong (along with Grimmchild ofc) works really well, since during the spike attack you can heal 3 masks. You'll almost always have soul too, so it's great and makes the fight a lot easier.

I honestly found dash master, quick slash, and steady body, and thorns of agony more helpful because the dash master lets you one up grimm’s speed, quick slash lets you get the most hits in his openings, steady body get a ton of hits on him when he uses the spikes while not getting knocked back into them, and thorns of agony for the one free notch
I think im fighting him a little bit soon, I only have 7 masks and only 1 extra container of soul, i will go back later xD
I did it with 5 and zero containers its not hard
bruh i am on my 6th play though and the challenge for this play though is to bet every boss before false knight all my other play thoughs are 112 and i keep coming back to this guide thanks.
