I just got my stuff but I didn't get a stitch marker and yarn needles plus I dont really have the same yarn tall have in America and it didn't say which type of yarn
I got an aluminum hook pack with rubber grip cuz I'm prone to wrist pain and I got sizes 2mm-10mm and I got 2 of the king Cole big value chunky yarn 1 black and 1 white, it was imported from England. And I got 2 of the Nako bebe 100 ball, 1 in mint green and the other in lemon colour and all yarn weight is 100g. The king Cole is 152 meters and 162 yards and the nako bebe is 360 meters, it doesn't say yards tho. Is it fine? Like can I still learn crocheting? I'm going to learn teh stitches first and all and then start garnny squares and small flowers or something
Update: my stuff is here and the hooks weren't a pack, so I only ended up receiving a 2mm rubber grip aluminum hook, so I ordered a different pack of hooks aluminum obviously but without the grip, I'm gonna get a grip one when I'm into crocheting more and like yarn from America, maybe cases for my stuff and better hooks from America too maybe stitch markers and the special scissors and idk wut yarn needles are.

Finally having free time to learn a new skill, I decided to jump into it with an open mind, and I'm really excited! So I just subscribed, and tomorrow I'm buying some starter tools to give it a shot!
Same I wanted to make some little plushies for my friends and family so I decided mabe it's time to try something new than being bored all day and getting my hands getting attractive and get my mind on how the steps go and when I saw how they made the plushies I was like omg this should be good for me am 11 rn and I want to try it and also congratulations its_sigh
I am also an aluminum hook fan Susan Bates are my favorite I guess because when I learned to crochet 57 years ago that's all they had. I've always used them with great success 😊

Great tips to start crocheting simply. 😃 I can crochet pretty fast with aluminium hooks, but sounds like I'd be supercharged if I used a Clover!! 😂 LOVE the tip of using an ear plug for a scissors protector! Gotta try it!! Thanks Christa! 💜

"Tiny 4mm" Lady, how chunky is the yarn that you have there? (I'm really envying you on that one because chunky yarn is just awesome and I can't find any thicker than 6mm) I had to start with a small 1.25 mm hook, and later got a 1.75 mm, I tried to make a beanie and it took me weeks (and trust me, I was hating how long it took, didn't even looked good at the end). Recently I got a 5 mm and, gods, that's so much better to use, even if I have to take multiple yarn strands to make up to the size. I hope in the future I'm at your point where I think 4mm is a small hook, lol.

I have been crocheting since I was 6 and for some reason I still use aluminum hooks because I still like them
I like the way they look lol

Great tips to start crocheting simply. 😃 I can crochet pretty fast with aluminium hooks, but sounds like I'd be supercharged if I used a Clover!! 😂 LOVE the tip of using an ear plug for a scissors protector! Gotta try it!! Thanks Christa! 💜

Love your hook case and adorable scissors, been looking at the same pair on amazon going to buy soon, those clover hooks are my favorite to, I spent a 100 on the rose tulip hook set and I use the clover hooks, go figure right
Clovers are my favorite too. I like the different colors - help me remember the hook size I was using! And so much less squeaky on synthetic yarns.
I crocheted on and off since i was 10 or something 31 now and i can say that your advice is perfect and consistent 👌

Great advice..i started on cheap hooks from eBay and have moved on to mid price Pony which are geeat.. I watched your hook review and treated myself to a 4mm Tulip and Clover...you're right...love the Clover 💜

another alternative i use for stitch markers is just a normal safety pin, theyre cheaper so if your on a budget theyre great

I love metal hooks but then i inherited some from my grandmothers. Want to try ergonomic hooks had some plastic hooks given tomep they are terrible.

Lady, how chunky is the yarn that you have there? (I'm really envying you on that one because chunky yarn is just awesome and I can't find any thicker than 6mm)
I had to start with a small 1.25 mm hook, and later got a 1.75 mm, I tried to make a beanie and it took me weeks (and trust me, I was hating how long it took, didn't even looked good at the end). Recently I got a 5 mm and, gods, that's so much better to use, even if I have to take multiple yarn strands to make up to the size. I hope in the future I'm at your point where I think 4mm is a small hook, lol.
