RUclips is amazing for random things like this!
Thank you! Just got some chicken wings and about to, "find the soft spot, make a slit, turn it over and cut!" T in Chicago
Hollering 😂😂😂
Thank you thank you thank you!! RUclips is such a wonderful place, and you have certainly contributed to that with such a simple (and yet crucial) how-to.
Easy and straight to the point. Awesome! Thanks
Thank you Steve, this is helpful. You make it look easy.
This is the best demonstration of how to cut wings, thank you
You makes the separation look so easy....can’t wait to try it.
Wonderful thanks Steve. My brother in law and I Appreciated this. 🙏🏼💜
2021-03-22 💗 🍞🥖Steve Gamelin taught me to bake my own bread. I have been making them for almost three years, I mix with dried garlic powder, all kinds of dried herbs, curry, nuts, seeds etc. but also, cinnamon, honey or with extra sugar then you get sugar bread :-) No one makes bread so fast, simpel and much easier as 'Steve from no knead bread'. I thank you a lot Steve😃 Much loaf love from the Netherland
Loved the vids Steve, keep them coming:)
I just wanted say that after my roommate and I bought the whole wings by accident we found this video and split them. Your video was super helpful. Thank you.
Best video we found on how to do this!
Thank you Steve! You do make it look easy.. *chops away*
Amazingly EZ thx so much for this tutorial!
This was a huge help. Thanks!
Bought wings today and totally forgot I would need to do this. Thanks for this!
Thank you so much! This was super easy
Ummmmm, what a nice sharp knife you must be using! I still had to saw away and use my "brute strength". Jealous of your knife skillz. Regardless, thank you for the tips!
😂😂🤣🤣 he make it look so easy 😐😁
I wouldve been soooo lost if it weren't for this video! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much fortis idea I have been trying to do this for so long and always hit the bone.I live in Scotland so not to many people cook buffalo wings .Big thank you.
Perfect, thank you.
Thank you! Great video
I chopped through the bone like a dumbtard the last time I cooked chicken wings. I'm super happy to have found this. Thanks!!
Thanks. i'll try this out.
Thank you for your help. We usually buy them already separated...But this time we didnt. Hubby likes the flats and I prefer the drum sticks.
Thank you so much for this Steve. Watching in 2020 :)
Wonderful videos....
took a few tries to find the right spot, but this helped.. thanks!
thanks for confirming!
Thank you Steve!
Thanks Steve🤗🙌
I kno this is old but this was really helpful. Thanks!
Great!
Well I don't make wings but I do like to eat them. I'm enjoying this whole series of videos. I've mode No Knead artisan bread for the last moth; we have fresh bread in my house every day. I have also tweaked my own recipes using Steve's method. It is so easy to make bread now that it is silly not to. Why buy a bread that is more expensive, tastes worse, and has all sorts of additives I don't want to put into my body?
So glad I found this video I'm tired of buying frozen wings!!! Now I need to find a good sweet habanero sauce like the wing stop
Bears Cubs same here those wings are super small
Yum. I'm going to have to make some wings pretty soon. My dog loves those wing-tips.
+deasttn Aren't chicken bones dangerous for dogs because they can easily splinter?
+Dustin Rodriguez
Maybe, but i think that's mainly with cooked bones. Besides, the raw tips r mainly cartilage.
i dont risk it, too often, because it's hardly worth it because there r sooo many other treats i can give my dog, but i dont worry too much about raw wing tips.
Ah, you might be right about the cooked ones. I didn't know. I don't have a dog, I'd just heard that giving them chicken bones can be dangerous. Thanks for your reply.
thank you:)
Cheers Steve
thanks so much!!!! i am hoping to be not struggling in about 2 min. Will let you know how it goes!
👏🏿👏🏿...TFS this great technique
I went to this one becuase I bought this and thank you
Yea boy, wow how sharp is your knife? I'm gonna try this. Does it actually feel soft in the soft spots?
Awesome video! Thank you! You make it look so easy - even for a culinary n00b like me! :)
Steve the part of the chicken wing ( I am presuming that you bin it?) I make chicken broth with them.
How cute you are!
I literally had the dullest knife known to man and I hurt my wrist and hand so bad trying to cut my wings because of the strain. note: sharpen my knife beforehand. 😧
I use a pair of poultry shears. Seems to do the job pretty well without need brute force. I suggest giving that a try.
Gonna have some wings today for the 2015 Super Bowl
Beautiful. What kind of knife are you using?
I use a Victorinox 6-Inch Boning Knife with Fibrox Handle (40511). Steve
Thank you Steve; just finished making a marinade, pulled the package of wings out of my fridge thinking they were already cut, only to realize I bought the wrong ones and they were the full wings w/ the wing tips, all connected.
After watching you do this a few times, and a quick sharpening of my knife, I followed your instructions. Worked like a charm to get those wingettes and drumettes (almost) perfectly separated! (I say "almost" because this was my first time doing this, and it will take me awhile to get to your level!)
Thank you again for this great, no-nonsense, straight-to-the-point instructional vid!
I'm here in 2020 because we gotta stay home and cook to save our lives during COVID lol
Thank you Stephen King
So what kind of knife are you using? Anyone have recommendations?
I have a Victorinox 6-Inch Boning Knife that I got at a restaurant supply store. Steve
Thanks Steve, much appreciated!
Yeah right, I wish it was this easy.
I have never cut through chicken like this before and it made me nauseous lmao, easy to say I will never do this again bleck... was enough to make me almost never eat chicken again lmao but the wings were good. I'm thankful for this video cause I bought wings not realizing it was the WHOLE wing and was like well... off to youtube i go lol
NIce video, but nope. Tried your technique and many others. You make it look so easy, but it ain't gonna happen for me. Apparently I suck at it on a permanent basis. Guess I just need to invest in a good band saw.
You're not alone, brother. Totally worth it to me to pay extra for the pre-cut ones. I can never do this without shards of bloody bone all over. Either I'm a ham fisted moron or I always manage to buy mutant wings with no soft spots. I don't want to think about which is the correct answer. Wish I could go vegan. :)
That knife of his cut through the wings like butter
Anyone else can't find the soft spot
You say to just find the soft spot. Can you tell us how to find the soft spot or what it is?
They're the cartilage joints between the bones. Cut into the folded joint. Steve
Finally someone who ACTUALLY knows how to do this (versus people who merely know how to edit videos).
Why would I Separate Chicken Wings into Sections for a Restaurant?
I can't find the goddamn soft spot.
Is anyone else thinking why is he throwing the tips away?
Why is this so hard
Ok telling me to locate the soft spot when the whole problem is that people have trouble finding the soft spot isn’t helpful.
Umm y’all please don’t cut raw meat on a wooden cutting board..
This is bs, it was so much harder 2 minutes ago!
Any knife will do - just get yourself a good knife sharpener. Mine is electric and I sharpen my knives on a regular basis. Nothing worse than trying to slice a tomato and having it squish.
yes girl I fucking hate it.
