I spent last night reinstalling my Z7, using a more up to date ROM.. andd was being driven totally insane by that damned notification whenever I unlocked the screen. Even just loaded a different ROM on, thinking it must be a bug in the other one! Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you. Turned NFC off, and semi sanity has returned. Now to reinstall everything...

I had the same issue over several weeks and i never realised where this spontaneous sound came from. After a long time i found your video on google with the keyword "crazy notification sound" because i absolutely had no plan how so search for that issue. I never realised that a credit card is the reason for that annoying sound (and i never realized that this function exists). Your video saves my phone for throwing out of the window spontaneously.
I noticed this sound on my 6p when angling it with my wallet at work as i played through my Bluetooth speakers, then today i noticed that it did it while i had the flashlight on looking at my coworkers keycard to let her into the door to see where she can hole punch it and it made the noise, i randomly searched google "6p beeps card" and this came up...i kept searching "6p beeps angled" since i angled it with my wallet, but nothing ive had 2 diff 6ps and thought they were just stupid, thank you thank you thank you
Just had my phone repaired and was going to send it back. I thought it was something to do with the new seen they put in. Cheers pal. It's a bloody headache, not just unlocking the phone but in calls to while in conversation hearing these silly beeps. 👍

Thank you, I was sitting in a Panera trying to figure out what app was making that sound, and why it was happening irregularly. You just made me realize it's because I'm setting my phone down on the table with an NFC receiver for their trackers.

I am an iPhone user decided to give Android a go.. and you can immagine my fustration when my phone makes a noise constantly "for no reason" ha ha... Thanks so much for posting this video. I think android should make a notification coupled with sound of NFC read... as for an unsuspecting mind like mine it was super weired.

Omfg thank you so much Jesus Christ! Mine was making a different sound but still a weird sound that shouldn't have been happening. It was my Oyster card in my phone wallet slot. Thank god. I thought the charger port was damaged as it was a similar sound to the sound Samsung's make when the charger isn't all the way in. Thanks man. My phone was doing it while not on charge so I was going crazy xD

I recently installed a magnetic phone mount (metal plate inside the back of my phone and magnetic attachment on my dashboard). After using it for a few weeks, I started getting the annoying and erroneous notification alerts. My phone thanks you for preventing it's untimely demise (under foot).

You could also try a foil sleeve to block the signal. Then you can keep using the NFC feature on your phone (if you ever decide to use it).

Great tip. My Nokia 6 does the same. It was the key card for the office that was the culprit. It also uses NFC.

+Chase H. It could be some app makes that sound, it running in the background. Look in Settings/notifications, check latest installed apps
