Most students who attend most colleges have no business there. In fact, our colleges are lowering their standards to accommodate these people. Higher education should be restricted to a small share of the population. That does not mean advanced study in literature or politics or any subject shouldn't be widely available, only that sending everyone to university isn't the appropriate means for achieving that end. Universities ought to be small, rigorous, and serious places.

Why, there's gotta be 30 or 40 Nazis for every minority student on campus. Nazi mailmen, Nazis police officers, Nazi storekeepers, Nazi pizza joint operators, Nazi delivery drivers, just an endless sea of wall to wall Nazis. Yet these students are demanding that George get the local Nazis to protect them from the hordes of Nazis overrunning Olympia. And I'm sure that's why these minority students decided to attend Evergreen - the large local Nazi community's longstanding tradition of supporting and enabling woke crap like what these "protestors" were up to.

I agree with mike allen and the OP.
I was going to grad school around this time. After the 2016 election, and especially after inauguration, the entire university went collectively insane with hatred of Pres. Trump. All of the Buddhist ideals of peace that they taught and espoused were thrown out for "orange man bad" and "all white men are racist/evil." I didn't vote in the election, but because I was born a white man, I was deemed racist.
The Jewish professor who was the head of the program was literally crying and beating her fists on the ground screaming, "I wanted a woman to be president! I wanted it to be Hillary!" and other such things. This professor also told me that money, a job, and a career wasn't important for me, and that I shouldn't have money or drive a car because "it's not ecological." (rules for thee, not for me----OF COURSE she had a car, and came from a super-rich background.) My Evergreen education cost $100k. US Professors are modern-day slavers, selling their students into debt slavery.
TDS is real. And professors are complicit in the madness and the Decline of Western Civilization documented in The Evergreen Story. Sad.

@@magamike1800 Good to hear from you, Mike. Thanks for sharing your concerns.
I share your concerns: for your family, and for the country (and world) as a whole. I don't have any clear answers. When i did my undergrad from 2011-2015 it wasn't like this. It was there a little bit, some of the profs were Marxists, but they didn't shove it in your face or make a big deal about it.
If your daughter does go to university, hopefully she will be wise enough to make her own choices and think for herself. Hopefully if the Evergreen-style indoctrination comes she might think something like, "my dad's not like that--this is b.s."
I think education is important. But IDK about university these days. I don't know what your daughter is interested in, but I wish I had done something more useful for grad school, something like a trade that would bring an honest living.
The debt from undergrad might not be too bad: $20-30k or so. So probably not too bad for a young person to figure out. But add another $100k for grad school, with no clear job or career, and... I would not advise that for your daughter or any other young person today.
And young people are facing brainwashing and indoctrination from many different directions today.
I'm sure you did your best to be a good dad. When they grow up and go out on their own, I guess that all you can do is hope and pray for the best for them, you know?

18:33 To be fair, all college presidents do the level-10-pasted-smile thing when they realize they're talking to a current or former student. I suppose the difference is that a GOOD college president will have a near-savant memory of the faces and names of everyone he's ever met who's connected with the college and will not need to be reminded every time he comes into the restaurant.

"Can We Eat Now" Says it all back then.
Looting brown and black businesses says it all today.
Because there is no demand that will be satisfied when they unleash the Nihilists.
Bret and Benjamin were right back then, when they said Evergreen was just the beginning.
Have to say I love the arc of Georges hands. From them demanding and demeaning him for his hand motions in the first few days to this final day of his hand firmly planted in his pocket to not commit the micro aggression of talking with his hands. SMH
He got what he deserved and what he planned, he should be fired and run out of Higher ED. A complete disgrace.
Sad to think I ever wanted to go to Evergreen, did go to the New School and Bard 25 years ago and saw the destructive seeds of this beginning.
Botstein was a joke, heroin was everywhere and the S&M club ran the school culturally.
Sad place left after one semester.

The performance - the live action role play - was a gambit to coerce Bridges to fire Bret immediately which, of course, he couldn't lawfully do. These students have an expectation their demands must be immediately catered to irrespective of nuisances like the law. Because Bridges can't bend the knee to those completely unreasonable demands, and he doesn't even bother trying to educate them of these requirements, he then capitulates with pay-offs he can enact such a free pizza, canceling assignments and exams, and hiring more stooges.
Also, I have to wonder about George's father, who raised a son with no backbone whatsoever.

I don't see the indie Rock scene in cities like Olympia or Portland behaving any differently. Listen to some Kill Rock Stars Records bands and you'll see what I'm getting at. Riot Girl music started in this region and this is how they act. Although it's some great music. 👍 "You're a man, go to the back of the concert hall and Shut Up!" Students don't feel safe on campus, but don't want police on campus (from earlier videos). He should have asked them if they would like more security on campus. Thanks for putting this together, it has been frustrating to watch, yet I have to see it through to the end. It really opens my eyes to what is going on today with BLM and Antifa (a lot of white young people).

So I've been vaguely aware of the Evergreen controversy for awhile. One thing that I've heard over and over again in your series is that the POC don't feel safe on campus. In this video, the one gentlemen said that a carload of nazis followed him down the road shouting slurs. Did this kind of thing actually happen? It would have been interesting to see some interviews with the students who felt "unsafe". I'm now 19 episodes into your story and it's still not clear to me what that means.
