And there's no need to be defensive about what they were saying. All we are told about the situation is that some random people were racist. There's no reason to leap in and say "no they weren't!".
You just have a strange mix of confidence and ignorance, and a mix of wanting to defend racism but by claiming it's not racism.

@@preacher1965 I think they're making a point regarding modern attitudes today. It's a criticism of attitudes which defy what God meant the church to be, and so I don't personally think God is against this.

The comedy really addresses the fact that we “shop” for a church in such an entertainment business style (deceiving ourselves that it is spiritual reasons), that we forget what is most important and sincere.
Nailed it. Funny for sure, but hopefully it gets us thinking too.
In total honesty, I went to that church for 7 years, my uncle is the youth pastor there and watching this we are all cracking up because we sat in that room so many times! It’s crazy!

That’s incorrect. The bible was written by 40 men over a 1500 years period. All scripture is inspired by God (ie: God breathed the Word).

Catholics are pretty cool. I just can't past the saints thing. I've heard the arguments and I think I understand the logic, but it still seems odd to me.

Aka, everything wrong with modern Christianity.
That is why I like alot of his christian scenes: they often are directed at "modern" christians, not against God.
This is aimed at an insane movement toward a non-biblical version of Christianity where it's more "cult of personality" around the pastor and relies on digital marketing and youthful design. Very little to do with scripture, but a ton of - "I'm OK, you're Ok" self help, daily affirmation jargon. I suppose if it feels good, do it, but it follows a specific plan and the pastor gets really rich.

David Wellman it’s the version of the Bible as loosely remembered, translated, or looked up from an online bible. So it’s the New American Bible in one passage with an eighth grader’s translation or remembrance of a bible verse in another passage, next to a verse from the American King James Version, next to a non-existent passage proving that Even eating the forbidden fruit caused periods is true (it was never explicitly said in the Bible, only that they’d have painful childbirth) So basically, its a satirical nonexistent bible that is an affront to all Christian faiths.

This really reflected on man creating their own GOD.... if a church is worshipping God and focused on that... preaching directly from scripture and keeping doctrine in line with that scripture then.... there will be your church home!!!
Love it man haha. I went to a church that used the childcare walk of shame numbers on screen.
scottbaino it is a security and attention grabber aid. when you give your child to the children ministry you get a number on a sticker, your child gets a matching number. To pick up your child you have to have the matching sticker. if a problem arises during service the production team at church will flash the number on screen thus telling you to go to he kids area. I have flashed the number on screen for many reasons from child gets sick, temper tantrums to injury, bathroom accidents etc.
Yup that's it. Not saying it's bad. It's super efficient, but also makes everyone guess who's kid the number belongs to.

This is a priceless, it made me laugh out loud. I have a lovely spot for these two, at rural African church in a 4-hour service under a tin roof when it's 32 celsius outside, singing choruses to the accompaniment of tin cans filled with pebbles. Its magnificent, I love it and they will too.

Texan1836 I felt that way too at the first church I went to over here. I'm twice divorced and a single mom. Then I found Elevation and haven't looked back. They welcomed me with literally open arms and the attitude there is one of acceptance and love not judgment. I hope you can find that too!
@@Etuffly Yes! I'm a single mom AND I have a child with severe nonverbal autism. While I've attended a few local churches, I've had trouble finding a church that is smaller and a good place for me and my son.

The video opened w/ the premise that they "just moved to the area". Then, they sit down on the couch and the premise becomes "the churches we go to now just aren't doing it for us". So what is it? New to the area... or switching churches? And they BOTH just moved into the area? Don't tell me they are living together. This story has so many holes. I see why he needs that accountability group.

Simple: they're both college students new to a college town. They both described churches they were involved with in their hometown. Besides, stop trying to read too much into it. it's just silly.
The couple comes off to me as a pair of bad actors. Seems staged.
