I hoped someone from the church would comment, I loved this video, and hope it brought new seekers to your fellowship. I used to attending a fellowship with tattooed, homeless, people of color, a bit tattered, but it slowly became "just white" and it lost sooo much soul. This video reminded me of those days...protect what you have now.
Oddly enough, there's a small town here called Ashville, Alabama. Saw some people outside walking around with horses in cowboy hats. Thought it was the strangest thing, But then thought it's probably filled with the most genuine and nice folks around.
I used to do this with a buddy in high school. Throw a dart at a map if TX, drive there early Sunday, stop at the first church we saw for service. We saw weird, we saw loving, we saw God at work. What a great summer exploring God.
@@saffronandclove No, that is a misleading. I suggest you look into Ishtar and what they did at the temples of Ishtar and Baal. It is very clear that God is against such things. People are confused today by the same spirits as written in the old testament. If you read Kings, God would continuously send Prophets to warn Israel they are stirring away from God and need to repent, go back to living as God had commanded. Young people today barely know anything of biblical scripture. You can be welcoming to people without putting symbolism that makes you look accepting of a certain lifestyle, so lets be honest and say that it is not true of this church, they are clearly affirming which makes them against God. A lifestyle and making mistakes are very different. Mistakes can be forgiven, but a lifestyle is something else entirely. If you want to make your church look welcoming at all, you can put that statement that they are, but make it clear the church is not for that lifestyle. If people get upset even though they attend that church which they believe is nice, the church is not the problem, it is them. In Corinthians, Paul would tell others they need to turn from their old ways. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't put a flag with alcohol on it outside of the church for example.
I’ve actually been to a church in Japan and have a great story. Since we were white Americans, something they never saw in their church, they stopped the service randomly, made us stand so everybody could see us and wave. Then the pastor said a lot of stuff in Japanese, the congregation laughed, and nobody translated what they said about us, then motioned for us to sit down. 😂 Then, after the service, some people came over super excited and told us we HAD to meet someone. It was the ONLY other white person there and they introduced us like we should know each other since we were white and thought we’d be best friends because of our shared skin. Turns out, he was from Poland 😅 A great experience! 😂
Honestly, im one of those "given up on church" people and ive been to a cowboy church...nicest, most welcoming people ive ever met in a religious setting. The service we went to was outside, people brought their horses, and yes, they do give the kids rides on the horses. I'd go back, which is saying a lot for me.
Praying you find your way back there! 🫶🏻🫶🏻 I am a given-up-church-goer as well, but through reading God’s word-I’ve given my heart to him-and I feel the Holy Spirit leading me to find “my own Cowboy Church” because, I know when I’m surrounded by other like-minded Christians, that strengthens my relationship with Jesus, which will strengthen my desire to spread God’s word, and strengthen my own heart to know when the Holy Spirit is leading me toward, and on, the right *_path_* so I can better serve *His* people through my *_purpose._* 💟✝️

Fun fact, I used to live in Asheville and attended Biltmore Church around 2012. I once visited a Messianic congregation whose rabbi looked like an old school cowboy. He wore a kippah. a prayer shawl, a handlebar mustache, and cowboy boots.
I love that he’s gracious to the first two churches, but if a church is not about upholding Scripture and worshipping Christ for who he is, we need to be okay with being bold when a church shows love for wealth or tolerance(or celebration) of sin.

Well, the problem with Christianity is that we are so quick to say all of the negative things that we think about something we disagree with like a church that supports LGBTQ. But, Sometimes the less said makes more of an impact rather than a huge fuss. That does not mean they condoned what the church stood for, but they did at least go and acknowledged that the people who attended were neighbors, family and etc. Sometimes it is not about being canceled, but showing respect for the fact that even as we disagree that we can still love our neighbors.
There are many "christian" churches now that don't even have any idea what living as Christ is anymore. It's like you going to notify your neighbor there's a fire in his kitchen then turn around and see your whole house is burning down.
@@gardengal6if the person is drawn by Christ there not going to stay and be comfortable in that situation because it’s not biblical , those are the people you support the ones seeking truth that wrestle with there character , you pray for them but unless God has called you to a specific purpose to do so it’s not wise to attend gay churches. I can not wait to visit NC. I am going out of my way, to attend a service there!
Yee Haw for Jesus!!
Cowboy Church reminds me of Biker Church San Bernadino, CA. Next time you are in So. CA. you should go to Biker Church.
You guys nailed this! Everything you said about AVL is true. I live here and not interested in church but I love God! I may just go try out the cowboy church. 💕💕💕
😄 Proud Presbyterian, here…this was great! Happy Sunday! 🙏🏼❤️
I love this… thank you JB
This episode literally brought me to tears. What an example of the love of Jesus. I’m pretty sure that there may be some disagreements in our ways of thinking. But you can feel Jesus by their testimony through this video.
Best review ever! Cowboys keep it all real, all day long.
I'm from NC. I've followed John for a long time . His humor about Church is fabulous. You have to watch him talking to himself in the parking lot before Church lol but this duo was amazing !!! I laughed the entire time lol loved the Cowboy Church ! Used to be a member of the Church that had to find you the empty seats (sometimes with a flashlight). Praise God wherever he leads you and take your friends to try out another Church. God has a place for you. He's waiting for you !!
Literally the best video I have watched in five years! Love this! I think you may be a secret genius.
Y'all need to take this on the road this is so needed so Christian community in America can get to know each other and the diversity and how the message reaches different regions walks of life in this country very necessary
Omg the collaboration we didn’t deserve!! 🎊 ❤
I love that! “If you’ve given up on church but haven’t given up on God.” That hit deep. ♥️🙏🏼
I love that I have an expectation of loving what you create...can honestly say I've never been disappointed. Love that you get to do what God has gifted you to do and that so many of us get to enjoy it!
WE visited Cowboy Church in Norco, California outside LA and it was Wonderful! Norco, Ca is a city dedicated to Cowboys ! Instead of sidewalks they have Riding paths for horses! My Cousins attend the Church and Love it! Real People surrounded by the Liberals in cities around them! You should check out that City!!
Thank you for making reviewing churches fun and exciting. I will think of this video while I am continuing my process of reviewing churches. 🙏
I look forward to meeting you two in heaven. Thank you for lifting my spirits with your gifts from God. Bless you all ❤
