They said United Pentecostal. Extreme "holiness." My mom's family are UP. No makeup. Never cut hair shorter than between shoulder blades. Wear it in a bun if you're married or not looking. Long skirts. Denim only if you're young and single on Sundays. Don't believe in the Trinity, either.
Romey Waldrop I go to a Pentecostal church and it's slightly different. They believe in speaking in tongues, the Trinity, girls should have head coverings, dress modestly (aka, skirt or dress), makeup is definitely discouraged, long hair, and no dating. Also no female leadership. Many of these I would agree with when researching the word, but there are definitely some over-the-top rules.
Truth . John 1 King James Version " 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. " Now heed this Warning : Man for his part has unto Himself taken the Word, and for His Own benefit hath twisted the Word, thereby corrupting It . Man fights amongst Themselves, bickering with one another as to who has the best means of worship . Those in lofty positions use the Word of God to lord it [ Their Authority and power] over others whilst only bringing fear, derision ,sorrow, and hatred to the People . The Word of God ,instead of being an Instrument of Salvation has instead been usurped by Corruptible Powers and Dominions within the Religions, Institutes, and Traditions built by Man . This I say unto Those who desire to hear, let not Tradition, nor Religion, nor Institution become as a pitfall . Let Love fill Your heart. Love as Christ Loved . Open up Your Heart,Mind and Soul to Christ and the Way of Salvation shall be revealed. The Path is before You. You must choose which One to walk. One Path leadeth to separation,Darkness,Corruption - DEATH ,whilst the Other leadeth to Unity, Light ,Salvation . CHOOSE wisely!

This skit was so spot-on with the difficulties of finding a church, and while I cracked up at several points of it, I can't help but see how the enemy uses these situations and differences to keep Believers from joining hands in praise and worship of the Lord.
Thats why we always plan ahead and look for churches in our denomination. In all seriousness we went to the Florida keys and went to church on Sunday. The group that was there was so welcoming to us and it was quite amazing which can only mean that visitors don't appear often. I will always remember them. :)

My church is extremely different from normal churches, so it’s super hard for me to find Christians to relate to lol. Like we don’t have a pastor, or some big building with a cross. We don’t give money (except for lunch which we all do our best to pitch in for), we don’t go on retreats or anything like that. We’re just a group of like 25 people that come together once a month and sing worship music, pray, talk about things God is bringing us through, ask for prayer on things, and then near the end we split bread and juice. We worship for about 2 hours, but it’s not like we open up a book of hyms or anything. We have actual songs that we sing, some are ones people in our group created and others are more well known worship songs. But we just sing them, and praise God. I guess you could say my aunt leads it since she’s at the piano, but honestly there’s really no one that leads it. When someone isn’t speaking or when we aren’t singing, we are just praying. Sometimes someone prays aloud, other times we are quiet in it. It’s truly just spending time with God. We don’t dress up in fancy outfits or anything. We don’t have the whole Instagram type life thing. It’s like a genuine family, which a lot of us actually are family, but in this case I mean more spiritual. A body of Christ. I don’t even know the whole denomination stuff. I just know God. I know I love Him. I know I want to know Him more. I talk to Him all the time, and I love seeing how He works. I think trying to put God in a box is against everything He is. When I was little, my mom would take us from church to church. We tried out all of those different kinds. But they never worked out. It was so suffocating to be in those buildings. It felt like a funeral more than worship. People nodding their heads constantly with their brows furrowed as the pastor preached the exact same five scriptures every single time. Warning us of God’s wrath if we ever strayed. It felt so wrong. So exhausting. So unforgiving. When we finally came to my now worship group, it was completely different. I was still a very young kid at the time, but I knew the difference. The air felt cleaner. It was calming. I would often take naps on my mom’s lap as we sat in the living room (our worship is in a normal house, not a church building) because I was little, and it felt like God was watching over me, joyful that I was there. It was a happy and content feeling. Like this was the closest to home I could get on earth. I’ve stayed with my worship group ever since. I’m 21 now, and it feels so good to be able to go to worship. I’m disabled, so I don’t always get to go, but it’s nice when I do. Like bringing me back to a place where I belong. A place that doesn’t teach through fear, but rather tells over and over and over of Gods overwhelming love. ❤️
"What are we going to do, drive around it seven times until we decide?" When I'm on vacation, I go to a relatives' church or chapel if we're at the base.
Actually that's my choice. I have an app on my phone that finds the building, tells me what time it meets and the language, in case it is something other than English. It is one of the things I love about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!
Random but, I’m waiting for crazy wackos with nothing else to do to go and make themselves look like idiots bashing other people’s religions right here. Why can’t we all just respect each other?
Hahaha this is so good! I love How you use humor to put light on how we sometimes focus on the wrong things in our faith. All your videos has a great message but is so funny so you WANT to watch it. I think this is a great way of teaching people and reminding us what is really important and what is not.
I was in downtown Chicago this past weekend and it was very hard to find a church. I just ended up going to the week service at my normal place of worship.
I can relate. I'm a non-denominational Christian. I've been to Methodist, Baptist, and Catholic churches, along with many that didn't say what denomination they were. I even went to the Church of Latter-Day Saints once with a friend. Usually I just don't bother with church on vacation. Also, the Catholic church name thing? Yeah, very accurate. My grandmother's Catholic, and her church is called Sacred Heart, and the nearest church to me when I got my first apartment was a Catholic church with Saint in the name.
It was a gray California day, and I was bored You-Tube surfing. After inadvisedly leaving Google Chrome (my default browser), my computer got screwed up and I had to call Tech Support. I came back on You-Tube, checked out the works, things seemed normal. And then. And then, I accidentally stumbled on you two darling HY-LARIOUS people. This first video with you had me howling!!! You've both made my day a lot brighter!! So I'm "Liking" and subbing to Thee, posthaste!!!
This is GOLD!!! Just like my family and I we all have different wants and needs when we go to church, we have our home church which has what I want in a service , so when we're on vacation try thinking of going to a place like that our church, then dad is usually wanting the same thing and mom has different wants than what we do and our church does, she loves it there too, but there's just 1 think as she grew up Lutheran that she has to have liturgy and hymns, so we always battle back and forth Saturday night on which church in the area we want to go to and on some occasions we don't even go because we can't decide or oversleep. Loved the Jehovah's Witness bit and also Jericho House of Praise "What are we just going to drive around it seven times?"
In regards to pants or makeup, I try to be respectful of the church's tradition. ..yesterday, i actually looked out the window for a little bit to watch what people were wearing before I decided to walk over in my pants (and cute flip flops ;-) ).

My husband and I went to three different churches on our vacation for our 1st anniversary: A PCUSA on Sunday, a midweek study at a RBC, and a men's study at a community church on a Thursday night (my husband only attended that one). It's a lot of fun - you literally get to meet the locals as well as fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. :)
United Pentecostal Church - "You're not getting in there, you're wearing pants, plus you've got a lot of makeup"..... LOL owned her 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So true!!!! I was raised in Pentecostal churches and women are not evenallowed to wear deodorants.... so sad!
@@jrjanette2 hilarious! Not true! LOL! Maybe for some weird legalistic church! I am a Pastor’s Wife to a United Pentecostal minister. I was raised baptist and one Wednesday night went to church with my my husband and was in pants, makeup, and was welcomed with open arms. I wear deo! that is seriously the most ignorant thing so far I have heard. right up there with accusations of snake handling stupidity.
When I was a freshman at Moody Bible Institute it was the first yr women could wear pants. When I heard it I said, "I hope they wear pants".lol
@@wifemomlife5606 I was part of a United Pentecostals church for a while and I can say that even though they welcomed you the way you were, you were not truly accepted unless you started to look and act like them. They also have a massive issue with women cutting their hair. They are all very lovely people, but they are very legalistic.

Really curious as to this guys actual denomination; he rags on all of them
Peter Bigg he’s probably nondenominational
I heard him say in an interview his dad is/was a Baptist pastor. Does it matter if he is a follower of Christ?
That's the point.
As a good comedian should. He's trying his best not to be biased
He's on his way to deconverting; he just doesn't know it yet. 😉
No mega churches but seems cool with Hillsong HAHAHHA. I love it 😂😂
Oh, I forgot my long denim skirt, yeah...
I didn't hear that - she said it quietly... I don't get it either. Pentecostals are supposed to wear long denim skirts and no makeup? I've gone to lots, and none I've been to are like that!
Everything J.Sharp said is true. I was raised United Pentecostal
Romey Waldrop
I go to a Pentecostal church and it's slightly different.
UPC churches in California are a little different :)
Hey John, you went to my church camp last year, called Camp Collide and you sent us laughing for days and I found your channel and now I can't stop!

Truth . John 1
King James Version
" 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

As a man who's been going to church my entire life, I found this to be ENTIRELY ACCURATE! JOHN! YOU'RE AMAZING!!!!
😂😂 one bonus of being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ and Later Day Saints we have churches all over and don't have to think about this. This is awesome and very funny. I love the humor of church goers. Keep it up. I just found your channel. You are great.
Would it make a difference if you knew what Mormonism teaches is false and is led by a false prophet?
@@tdubs5128 why would it? You might believe that, but for me I have prayed and received an answer that the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is true and led by Jesus Christ him self, through prophets. Just like in the time of Jesus Christ.
@@stubyjones1 I was a member for 43 years myself and have recited just what you told me many many times. I stood up in sacrament meeting and bore testimony as to the truthfulness of the lds gospel. But they always need more money for the roof.
That Jericho joke about had me on the floor. This was what I needed to brighten my day. Thanks.
I was already on the floor when I heard it. Meh.

I even went to the Church of Latter-Day Saints once with a friend. Usually I just don't bother with church on vacation. Also, the Catholic church name thing? Yeah, very accurate.
