    This a great! I loved those old manual shift suburbans, and especially this reminds me of trips to the Jersey Shore when I was a kid, and even a teen.

    This looks like an old Gray Line bus from Florida. I rode these when we were at Disney World in 1976.

    The unmistakable whine of the transmission is a sweet sound!

    I wonder if the view counts still go up even though I have previously viewed this video! Great video! I think I view this one at least once a week!

    San Juan P.R. between 1993 to 1998. Besides riding those fishbowls with a V6 or V8 they where mated with the 4sp spicer but at the same time i also rode on GMC buffalos that have the same 4sp or Allison ATs and the old flxible with the 6V71s mated to the 3sp AT totally awesome, and the only buses around this days that i also rode on are the MCI buses such as the MC9s and 102s with either a 6V92 with an Allison or an 8V71 with a 5sp manual or a 4sp automatic or 8V92 with either both.

      Rode these as a kid in 1969 on PAL trips to Lake Hapatcong. Was a real treat. Also rose on the old 134 line to Menlo Park. They used these buses on Newark suburban routes.

    Lennox Alexander;
    Four gears (reverse typically is a prelected electric splitter shifted to 2nd to achieve reverse, gingerly acceleratorate to reverse or else..!)

    Classic commuter fishbowl. These were 96" wide instead of 102" wide, like most of the 40ft city transit versions with the exit door on the right mid-section. The commuter coaches could really get up and go!

    This is awesome!!!! I LOVE the sound of a 6v71 coupled with a good manual transmission. This one probably has a Eaton or Spicer in it. It doesn't matter though, bus still sounds great.

    Is that an NJ Transit Authority city bus from the 1960s, 1970s or the 1980s?
