SPS do not tolerate dips well immediately after a shipment. It's best to let them settle in a bit in an observation tank/tub. Once the coral has settled in and has been under light for at least a few days, then you can give a dip if you wish and add to the display system.
It's always best to QT if you can but even then it's nearly inevitable to keep all the hitchhikers out. All we can do is cater to the corals as best as possible and follow the rule of, when in doubt get it out!

Totally agree. I used some coral rx on a few acros once and they all died within the week. Now I just pop the frag plug off and reglue the acro on a new plug

FYI for anyone watching. You can buy the expensive one from BRS,use it and return it and they only charge a restocking fee.

Very true! For most people its a much better investment than buying and using once. If you've got multiple tanks however or are constantly changing lights or adding new systems, you can't beat always having one on hand! I wish more LFS's did rentals, this would be much more convenient and probably cheaper than online.

Good for you bro! I hardly think that's a sustainable strategy for long-term in this hobby. But if you want to spend 12K on a tank in just 3 months, you better be making videos about it 🤣
