Fuel/water separators have been around for 75 years. Put one inline with the electric pump, and put output back in the tank. When water bowl is full, stop pump, drain water, turn back on.
Whoa for some reason I thought you lived and worked in the Keys. That's a great location, fishing is great at Sebastian and you aren't into the crazy house prices of south florida.
I thought you were in the Keys? I have a KW 1720 and had water in the fuel tank. I need to get rid of about 6 gallons of bad gas, thanks for the advice where to get rid if it responsibly!!!
I’m thinking condensation over a long period of time, you finally got enough water in there to hit the pick-up. I’m guessing you’ll be fine now for another few years. I would test it periodically to make sure.
@@BornAgainBoating Oh. Ok. Thank you. So, your recommendation is to remove the primer bulb and then use the fuel pump? 37 gallon tank on an 18' Tidewater 180cc
Had a 16ft deep V sea pro center console a few years back and only got water in my fuel tank when i took it out to the ocean, took it up and downnthe river for hours and no water in my fuel, turned out my fuel tank breather was pointed forward and the waves pushed water in thru the vent turned the vent from 7 o'clock position to 4 o'clock position and never had water in the fuel again.
Y'all be careful transferring fuel. Make sure electrical connections are well insulated and clean of gasoline. Above all, HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER nearby
Hey did you find were the water is coming from after all the hard work you put into this boat will be great to fix that problem as always great videos keep the coming!!!

Bad gas sucks :/ and for sure! We still go down there and do a lot of work :)
Great tips for sure
You want to check the gas cap o-ring sometime those level caps leak, like mine mounted on the side of my console.

I need to completely drain my fuel tank. How would I do that?
Just follow these steps until it's empty

Had to do that exact thing when I got my boat used from another person

Maybe safer way is pull sender and use a long jigger hose....I've done it this way with an inline 12v before but definitely safety concerns for John Q

Must have been residual because I pressure tested it today and held pressure with no leaks so we'll see :/
Been watching and subscribed for some time now, just realized we're from the same town! SEB!
We've only been here for a couple years now :)
"A" I really thought you area of operation was Key West, wow wow wrong I was 🙈
Usually Key Colony Beach :) and Sebastian
Why boat manufacturers are not smart enough to put drain valves on the low points of fuel tanks is beyond me. It’s a no brainer in aviation.
Did totally morph out of the Keys? Or are you transitioning 😂 I made the move @ 26 years ago.
We go back and forth from Sebastian to the Keys :)
Wear some gloves my friend ;)
