- Episode 13 of The Speed Operation is here! After a few weeks of quality training, I'm ready to get into some more racing and build upon my 60m season opener. It's going to be a busy week, with 4 races at 3 separate competitions, so there's plenty of opportunity to run fast.
I'll be racing both the 60m & the 200m, so I'm excited to see what i can do!
The indoor season is a key stepping stone on my journey towards the Paris Olympics and Rome European Championships in the summer, as I'm looking to gradually build towards the best shape of my life in time to qualify.
Please make sure to like, subscribe, and leave a comment if there's anything you want to see in the future.
Thanks for watching!

One of the best track and field channels right now!
I appreciate it!!
Posting a good start off 2 false starts is tough... but a .74 is progress...
That 6.6? is coming... :)
Yeah it wasn’t ideal, caused some hesitation but progress is progress🙏🏼 hopefully soon!
the production is pro i swear😁
Thank you! 😁🙏🏼
I'm turning 22. Is it too late to start sprinting (I like 60-100m). I love sports in general and I also like the sprinter physique but WITH ATHLETICISM
It’s absolutely never too late to start and you’re still young! With a couple years of training you can really surprise yourself, go for it!
Doing great Joe 200m you know what the problem was it must be difficult with all tracks being different. Race don't be disappointed like you say fatigue plays a role. Keep going its great to watch!
Definitely, that track was tough! Thank you🙏🏼
First video I’ve watched of urs will be watching more what’s your goals for this season
Thanks for the support! The series is hoping to document my Journey to Euro’s and Olympics in the summer!
Keep going Joe! Been a big fan since you ran 10.2x in Loughborough a few years back. Your top end will catch people out in the summer I’m sure of it. Good luck for British Champs if you’re going mate
I’m looking forward to being able to get into my stride outdoors for sure! Thanks a lot for the support it’s much appreciated🙏🏼
Keep posting these videos.
More content on the way!🙏🏼
Hope your training is going well our Joe. Looking forward to your forthcoming video. You're a true inspiration. Blessings.
Thank you🙏🏼
Some solid races there and important to compare with oregious years rather than where you want to be in a few months.
Interested to see you taking a gel in Manchester. We'd more associated them with endurance sports. Is that a regular part of your race and training nutrition?
Great content and we're learning a lot about the physical and mental side of your discipline.
100% it’s always good to look at the bigger picture.
The gels I take are energy+caffeine and I find them easier to get down than food just 20-30mins before my warmup on race day.
Thanks for the support!
Real motivating to all athletes
Im glad you enjoy!
Just relax not think for the time 😊and step under your body this is the key and time will come. You will be surprice!
🙏🏼
Like I said before DON'T WATCH NOTHIN!!" its only indoors. Outdoors is where the real hustle is at so "KEEP YA HED WAYYYY UP" 👊🏿👊🏿
Indoors is indoors, outdoors is business🤝
@@joeferguson200 TELL DEM AGEN!!🙌🏿👊🏿
That’s 6.6 coming this weekend 🫡
🙏🏼
Do you have a stretch routine you do? how do you keep consistantly loose and mobile?
It varies depending on what I’m trying to achieve at the time, personally for me I try to keep my ankles and lower back mobile to prevent any issues but also do some general maintenance mobility everywhere else
How did blue top stay after false starting twice?
Good question I couldn’t tell you myself😭 in a championship it would’ve been a straight DQ
They applied 90's IAAF rules 😂😂😂
Any tips on running the bends ? I was told never to accelerate into the bend but out of it in the 200
If you’re asking about the indoor 200, I’d say driving up the hill coming into the bend is key to stop you from losing momentum, and then letting the downward hill take you and maintain your form. Outdoors id say generally to push hard for the first 60m at least.
Bro seriously, keep this up, clearly one to watch this year ❤️🔥
Really appreciate the support!🙏🏼
Can’t believe I’ve only just come across this. Some serious content! Hope this season is a good one for you.
I appreciate the support!🤝
good luck bro, i got nationals in 3 weeks hopefully i'll run like you :)
All the best I hope it goes well!

Let’s go!🔥🙏🏼
Great content Joe
Thank you!
lets go joe !
🙏🏼🔥
nice

I don't get it. In first competition 2 false starts and none of the fals starters DQ-ed. What rules are you running under?
The manchester race was a low-key open meet so I think the rules were more lenient
I’ve been watching you a lot for track tips. You may not know it but you’ve helped me a ton , thanks
I’m glad you’ve been able to get some value out of the videos!🙏🏼
I was looking to seeing this new video simce I saw you run in Ostrava on the telly. To be honest I got shocked by the guy in the outter lane running in 20:7 I was also expecting you to run under 21 but I guess the huge amount of trainning volume you have still to digest is no joke
Yeah I think I underestimated the difficulty of that track, it was a lot harder to control than what I thought before the race. Onwards and upwards🙏🏼
Congrats Joe! Great week of performance. With more rest and the start you want 6.6 is there.
Thank you!🙏🏼
why you haven't started at national indoor championship?
Will discuss in the next video coming soon 🙏🏼
It was good to compete against you in Manchester brother . Wishing you a great season💪🙏
Thanks a lot and likewise!💪🏼
Joe your content is great, I really enjoy watching your videos
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy!
What do you during those 15 min rest periods? I seen that some people walk around, put their legs up and do drills.
I generally take the first 10-12 minutes to sit down & recover then the last 3 minutes I get my legs moving again, do a couple of drills on the way back to the start line to make sure I’m primed to run fast again
Awesome videos, Joe. Keep them COMING!
Thank you! They’ll keep rolling out 🙏🏼
Great stuff man! I could really see that you have a lot of more in you in the 200s. On to the next one.
For sure, I’m excited to see what I can do outdoors in the 200
Thanks for the support!

Awesome stuff man. Unfortunate how that 200 went, not that its slow in the slightest, but because you're clearly capable of smashing that time. I've been having issues with indoor curves myself... Tough times. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Yeah the tight track and lane draw didn’t suit me but it’s looking promising for outdoors🙏🏼
I ran high school and small college track as a sprinter decades ago.
Joe is a lot faster than most can appreciate. He reminds me of the fastest guys who beat me that are really fast , but, need that extra little bit to make their Olympic teams .
I will continue watching his videos and am pulling for him to make the UK team in 2024 .🎉
Thank you for the support!🙏🏼
I know you're a long shot to make the UK Olympic team this summer, but I'm glad to see you going all out for it .
You're faster than I ever was and I always regret packing it in after college at a young age .
I find your training , commentary and variety of competitions to be an interesting and compelling story .
In my humble observation, your start , drive stage and transition are excellent. However, I think you could be a bit.more relaxed from 50 to 80 m in the 100 m .
Lol just my 2 cents and might not be worth listening to .
All the best 🎉
Life is all about ups and downs just keep going🫡❤️
🙏🏼🔥
