I don’t understand the comments about cost! This is cheaper than a QC3 and you don’t need to purchase a PC or laptop to match up with it. Think this seems like a great product.
People would dont have 5K to spend always moan about something they cant afford. They just want this item for a price they can afford, but don't understand that not how the world works. They will moan like this for the rest of their lives.
As I'm currently well endowed with a lauch monitor and have reached the point where I hate hitting balls and only play golf courses, I'm wondering if the 43,000 stipulated courses at St-Georges de Beauce and Beauceville in Quebec Canada are part of the inventory. This is the only condition that will allow me to acquire the Garmin R-50 Thank You for the answer Alain Jacob
The R10 came with a license to iOS version of E6 (only six courses). Does the R50 come with the same license? Or to use the E6 platform, would the R50 user have to buy a license from E6 plus subscribe for a level of access to courses? The license is expensive, like $1000-2500 one time, but so is the subscription at $300-600 annually.
I contacted the folks at TruGolf (e6) to confirm. Yes, the plan is to get 5 courses. However, they’re still working on the full integration with the R50. So my interpretation is “Yes?” 😂
@@selzbeard1212 I hate the rampant use of the word "game changer", but full integration of E6 into the Garmin R50 would be a very compelling selling point. Especially if full integration means that the tablet-based version of E6 could run on the R50 display without using a projector or external computer. Wow!
@ I do want to clarify that “integration” in this case is just the common 3rd party integration like with other launch monitors. Because of how new the unit is they’re still working out kinks. Though full integration with the onboard screen with other simulator softwares… 🤯
@@selzbeard1212 I own a business that’s an authorized Garmin dealer (not golf) and I passed this same feedback on to their sales and technical teams. No one would share any details about the built-in processor of the R50. That’s the key for future development, but Garmin has built more than a few units which had hardware that the initial software couldn’t yet take full advantage of. We’ll see!

Ouch. I was pretty curious about this unit. Until I saw the touchscreen. Imagine doing everything shown in this video bent over, while it's sitting on the ground. Nobody is going to want to play sim golf on a 10" screen on the damn ground. If you have $5k in your LM budget, you can afford a projector and wall-mounted touch screen. That built-in touch screen is a classic example of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should."
Game changer 😂 5k not even close more like late to the game!! Was sooo excited I own a R10 and wanted to upgrade but was expecting half that price then half again!!! Welp going with square….
Nope. As I read on another video comment, I guess we were looking for the R20. Too expensive! A lot of us already have GSPro and a PC. Just needed an upgraded monitor, not a full system. This looks great for someone looking for a drop in, out of the box solution who doesn't want to hassle with integration. But the price is crazy, especially for us Canucks. $7K!! ?
having owned multiple garmin golf products i have little faith that the garmin software is going to be up to scratch. Its also going to be a total pain bending over to touch the screen every single time. I think 9 dollars a month is also very expensive for HTH given how it stacks up to other software
100% agreed. I own the Garmin S62 watch and a full set of sensors. The Garmin golf app is pretty damn bad for real-course statistics (can't add / delete putts?!? wtf?). Garmin hasn't developed / updated their golf app in years. They've always been a hardware company. I have very little faith in their golf software ecosystem.
Price point is a little steep. But the all in 1 kinda bothers me a little bit. Will GSPRO finally support the Garmin brand. I did see it's Logo at . 59 of the video.
@@as14842 I wonder if it is designed to handle the graphics of the 42,000 courses and Home Tee Hero without a PC. Home Tee Hero is very cartoonish and likewise for the 42,000 courses. I'm betting you'll have to have a PC. And for this price there are much better options out here.

You can understand but don't want to understand.
I love garmin products.. r50 looks insane.. 👍👍
Yes, my R80 has been great, just wish I could afford this one.
Something no one noticed; hitting area is just in front of it minimizing possibility of shanks to break it
I really like this launch monitor, but you need the sicker that go on your clubs. So, how much are they after-market and how available will they be.
How long does the battery last outdoors?

Hi, is the R50 showing Descent Angle data ?

What’s the max output resolution the HDMI port will do hooked to a 4k projector? Trying to confirm it outputs at least 1080p?
Why the AI voice!? So annoying
Welcome to the AI age everything is cheaper and quicker to do with it. If you are annoyed now wait till 95% of people start using it.
Cry about it. Womp womp
Does it have 4k resolution?
No

Will gc quad sticker work on garmin r 50??
Because gcquad stickers are significantly smaller.
That price tho
Talk about moving upmarket, $600 to $5000.
to be fair, that simply skipping over one category of price point. Obviously depending on how you break those price points down.

I could play around 250 rounds of golf at my local for the price of this thing.

how is the price crazy, i cant buy anything that does what it does for less.
so the square is the only one changing the game. 5k hard pass
But if ya have 2 golfers...1 lefthanded and 1 righthand..gotta keep moving the monitor from 1 side to the other...
There’s like a 5% chance their customers will be doing this. So no need to satisfy at this price point.
@Yournumberonetool true but if using as a home simulator with friends..makes a little bit of pain in the butt
@@johnwagner47 that’s the trade off for camera based monitor, it’s more accurate indoors and you don’t need as much space front or behind.
This is a winner. People already like the R10, the R50 will be a hit.

Thats the one design flaw is see , if only you could remove the screen to put it on a stand at face height.
I needs to be able to connect to GSpro .
it shows GSPro as an option in the scrolling menu. at :59 seconds you can see it

Won't buy until I see it compared with Gcquad and trackman.
Also, lose the Ai crappy voice. Unsubscribing
What is this awful AI narration? Just spend the extra $100 and pay an actual human
