- The quality of World of Tanks endgame experience has been on the downtrend for quite some time now. What are the main problems with dumbing the game down and how could this all be turned around?

World of Tanks (WoT) is a massively multiplayer online game developed by the company Wargaming, featuring mid-20th century (1930s-1960s) era combat vehicles. It is built upon a freemium business model where the game is free-to-play, but participants also have the option of paying a fee for use of "premium" features. The focus is on player vs. player gameplay with each player controlling an armored vehicle.

WG is so far disconnected from the player base it's incredible that the game continues to survive. The continuing "dumbing down" of the game is ironically killing it IMO.
Nah man they know. But the money they get is huge so they wont change the model. Do you play with premium acc?
I think most of us mainly stick because of the huge amount of time we have already put into the game and all our achievements (let it be certain vehicles grinded; stats; etc) that we don't want to losee once World of Tanks servers go offline forever.
"IMO"? You're not on twitter.
Compared to 2021 the game has lost 20% of its playerbase in just a year. Think about it a bit.
Atleast it's a measure to stop the team from dying in a minute. Or it's gonna end so bad🤷. Tier 10 is the worst right now. Players don any clue what they are doing. Even with over 30k battles.
It feels like the gap between the weak and meta tanks has never been bigger and the whole game needs a massive rebalancing. Also the spread of maps needs to indulge more playstyles.
We used to be new players at one point, and we did fine.
Sometimes it feels like tier 10 tanks are just super tanks that can easily wipe the floor against tier 8 and tier 9 tanks.
strongly agree, as a guy who returned to the game after 4-5? years id say it plays totally different, many of my fav tanks are unusable, armor means much less, hulldown everywhere. so many cool maps where you had to think were removed, maps from recent map test were mostly terrible.
Maybe game is better for new players, but is it woth it when youre loosing old players? Wot is not as hot as it was years ago i dont believe there getting so many new players to the game
@@KulegaRycha eh, im a new player and i can't stand playing it for more than 3 matches
@@gsamov right? it looks like siple game, but theres rather steep learning curve at the beggining (after some point it gets easier to learn stuff). takes a little time until u learn all the maps and where to go to gain confidence to drive around without feeling lost. At least i felt lost alot when i started playing :v
2 or 3 lane corridor maps are killing the game. It feels so restrictive when you play anything but a heavy tank. Lights and mediums are so much harder to play because you only have 2 or 3 open maps and rest are just meant for heavies to fight over one corner
yep its so boring and makes other tank classes obsolete in most maps
@@Jules-kp7rw yeah I used to hate prok but then I learned how to play the game at a basic level and it's my favorite map now. Truly one of the only maps where every tank has a role to play and room to play that role.
Also it feels like you play only the same 3-5 maps, although there actually are quite many
Maps like malinovka and prokorovka are trash, too open and too campy, and so many draws, more open maps e agree but with more dinamic positions
@@flyingberserker3965 everybody just rushes bill on malinovka. Prok is the second best map in the game to himmelsdorf
Basically, they need to change maps, and delete or at least reduce the corridor and hull down maps. Create some new open field maps where you can actually flank and relocate easily. This would be great for everyone and it will also change the meta
and delete arty
@@razumikhim I would delete arty missions and problem solved.
@@razumikhim just create a game mod only for arty with the same mm that we currently have but with bots instead of players and problem solved
Honestly I think the answer isn't this, but significantly bigger maps. Have hulldowns and corridors, but have the map big enough that those spots arent needed to win.
@@illwillpress100 interesting idea! As tanks are fast as never before + turbo it would be interesting.
I just want they remove +2 MM and replace with +1 MM and balance the game instead of keep throwing superb OP prem tonks to the game :)
blitz has a +1/-1 that plays great, I'd return to WoT if they made this change
@@purposly yeah way more ppl play blitz... not alot on pc like before so mm would takw awhile
And also when you play a stock tank a +2 MM is like a +4MM
Premium tanks make wargaming money, because a bunch of braindead players keep buying them like addicts buy cocaine
I quit the game in 2015, came back in 2020 cuz covid and no job. 7 years ago you could play non meta tanks and have fun games. Now its close to impossible. It's eitherway 15-1 or 1-15. When you play a bad tank and are top tier, you pretty much know you're gonna lose because the enemy has more meta tanks. It's so bad I've uninstalled and I'm not returning untill i see what i want to see.
Matchmaking has been broken since day 1. I'm so sick of the majority of the games being 1 sided, 4 minute 15-3 blowouts. Tier 10 is almost unplayable these days because of this. Even winning isn't fun like that.
Because half of the time you don't even get to the frontline and that was your first win of the day so your x2, x3, x4, or x5 is busted since you are basically getting AFK XP. lol
Because people are using gold now that`s why battles are 3-4 min. Years ago u should think where to shoot , how to shoot , in the past when u met an IS 7 or E100 was fun trying to take them down and was a joy when u succided . Now is shit spamm gold , atleast HE is not shit anymore
Agreed and the problem is the unicom blame the players and not the fact the teams are crazy unbalanced skill wise . One team is always WAY WAY better then the other skill wise then add the unbalanced tank match making yea and you get 4 min 1 to 15 blowouts .
@@serlGlent gold is part of the issue but the skill of teams is the main issue . I compare teams every game and one side is almost always a million times better then the other .
Premium ammo goes brrrrrr
Well put. I would add that all tiers are suffering. Trying to grind credits in tier 8 prem playing 5 games and facing a tier 9 and 4 tier 10 matches. Trying to use standard ammo as much as possible and getting clobbered by tier 10s spamming gold rounds. For the average player, having the credit system nerfed is a struggle at times.
This meta of hull down tanks is getting old too. One of the reasons for keeping arty around was supposed to be to prevent people from camping, but what do hull down tanks do other than camp a ridgeline? I think what WG are missing is that the more they make the game easier for newer players, the more they nerf the fun and excitement of the game. Honestly, I get so fed up sometimes I just rage quit, get chat banned and boycott the game for a few weeks. It's pretty sad that I get more enjoyment from doing the dishes than I do from playing this game.
The power creep was so bad when i finally made it it into the tier 9 ST-I , after years of grinding, i found that even the tier X gun low rolled in every match. and i soon realize that almost no one was playing the IS-4 because the power creep had nerfed it so badly.
With the exception of making consumables reusable, every change they've made has made the game worse. I don't think WG has the desire or the ability to save this game.
Also 3-5-7 matchmaker
people have been saying this for years the game isn't going to die lol
@@joeynyesss1286 I remember Days where 300k Players played and you had to wait to get from EU1 to EU2....
@@rembrandt2323 the game isn’t dead though.
@@joeynyesss1286 "Back in the day" I don't remember waiting for more than 1 second to get a match. It was a rare event even seeing the timer tick to just 1, let alone 2.
Imagine Wargaming bringing out patches every 2 weeks like League. Meta tanks would receive some nerfs and underpowered tanks would get some buffs. Meta would be changing constantly.
Yeah thats so true. Imo WG buffs/nerfs tanks way to seldom.
I feel like 2 weeks is a bit too much, I think that WoT is way easier to balance compared to league. Wot just needs a few buffs to bad lines and a few nerfs to OP ones and it would be fine
@@ywoisug8845 Introduction to new and OP tanks with the resulting powercreep and then the buffing of old tanks, that viscious cycle has brough us here. So in general nerfs is the sollution for the most parts. We are spoiled now and expect one tank to be good at everything having good gun depression, accuracy and dpm, while having an unpenetrable turret. Monthly re-balancing on overperforming or REALLY bad tanks. But not as WG done in the past with overbuffing armor so we spam more premium ammo but actually using their brains in order to make the game better and more enjoyable.
lol has trash balance lul bad example, balance has been bad in that game for 5-6yrs now.
I'd love to see more different game modes being implemented into the game. 7vs7 was the most fun i ever had in this game, and i would love to play the old capture the flag or domination game mode. Just something different than randoms. No game can stay in a healthy state if there's just one way to play it. The same goes for the hull down meta
5 years ago the game was in one state and was perfect , everyone loved it , i didn`t want get out of PC just to play hours and hours , now i came to PC i play 1 hour i get angry and i hit ALT + F4
7v7 was a godsend and made me play more T10 within the short time than over the last 3 years combined.
If you guys liked 7v7, go play blitz. Much better in some ways, worse in others, though overall a better version of WoT.
I agree with most of what you said and I am a long time player (almost 90k games) and 60 tier Xs.
1-I quit the game right after EBRs were added because they destroyed light tank and aggressive medium play.
2-I just recently came back (less than 2 weeks ago) and the new hull down heavy meta is boring.
3-Tier X is nothing but EBRs, gold spamming and sitting in the back for the first 2 minutes because you get punished if you try anything (like getting forward in fast mediums for quick spots and early damage).
I think I have played exactly 2 tier X heavy games since I came back and am endlessly frustrated trying to play my lights and fast mediums. Tier X is supposed to be the crown jewel, but I have much more fun at tiers 5-8 these days...
And that is also a problem, because many tier 5 - 8 players are kind of new players, especially tier 5, and are still figuring out the mechanics of spotting, bushes and the general game strategy, other than the good places to shoot. So when matchmaking puts experienced players against new players, they get butchered and so some buy the dumb op hull down meta tanks, just not to die at min 3, but this way the gameplay gets so boring...
@@mattiacppellino6629 I'm pretty sure they either whale on the OP premium shit or leave, I'm a new player who just hit tier 5 yesterday and my feeling for this game is just overwhelmingly "toxic to new players" There's no hope for newbies who dont have the time/patience to invest in researching every map, every tank, etc. So putting them in matches against players with hundreds of hours is much more likely to make them pack up and delete the game.
My friend who has bullied me into giving this shit game a go, constantly tells me how bad War Thunder is. I'll sit down with him and explain to him all the things about War Thunder I hate, and how broken the game is, I even understand mechanically why things are broken under the hood in that game. But he insists "It gets better" I'm seeing it more as "it gets better if YOU get better." and forcing the player into becoming better in order to enjoy the game is just... toxic and elitist.
I'm here to play a casual game and grind for fun, not get bullied into submission by angry higher tier players who are sick of being bullied out of their higher tiers.
playing tier 8 premiums is the most fun part of the game for me now, which is really sad. even with 20M credits in the bank i still dont fire gold, since i have this stupid idea in my head that if my enemy plays better and uses their tanks armor to the best , they deserve to perform well. except for flat out broken/cheesy shit ofc. if there is a type 4/5 Heavy, i will try to flank instead of just turn him useless by the double tap of a certain button, since i wouldnt want to get treated like this aswell.
imagine having maps as big as in war thunder, with like still 15 people on it, in a game mode resembling steel hunter in terms of spotting mechanics to force people to move around and look everywhere to find the ennemy. this could allow flanking and also provide new and potentially fun gameplay for everyone to learn
The thing there is that a lot of players that have bad computers arent gonna to be able to play anymore
@@koenseig5559 just have it as a special gamemode, didn't say it but wasn't it obvious?
@@hambourje Not so obvious pal. Anyway thanks about the answer
@@koenseig5559 sorry i didn't mean to look toxic, but since the other bigger map battles we can get are in different gamemodes(except grand battles but the fact the you can turn them off counts as a different gamemode to me) i assumed it was obvious
@@hambourje Dont worry haha, i didnt feel attack so... No need to apologize. But you are right, we need bigger maps. Other thing that would improve the game is remove the p2w things, replacing them for skins*, etc.
Agree with pretty much everything you have to say. I believe maps is a key aspect to fixing a lot of the game's issues. The map themselves really are the deciding factor on how the game is really played. And Wargaming's design philosophy when it comes to maps is pretty flawed. Would love to see some more map discussion from the community!
However, I disagree with you on the new outline feature. I don't think it's "dumbing down" the game, it's just providing you with more information. To me, this feature is similar to the extended map features, the hit log and hit-indicator, and the team health bars: More power and information to the player!
For me, the game has never been consistent in which structures and geometry you can actually destroy, shoot through, or are solid etc. So yeah, you have to learn the specific properties on each individual structure on every single map. Of course, I agree that it does reward experienced players and will feel satisfying to be able to outplay your opponents thanks to your knowledge in this regard. But are you outplaying these players because of a well implemented game mechanic, or a poorly implemented game mechanic? I think most structures in the game are poorly communicating what is actually destructible or not, so you just have to find out by trial and error. So to me, the new outlining feature is a perfect way to communicate just what is destructible or not, and I think this is something that should have been in the game since the beginning. World of Tanks is already a very complex game and I don't believe implementing such a feature is "dumbing down" the game, it just helps us understand the game better!
Anyways, great video though!
/Zwhatsh
Finding out by trial is fine imo, but wg should just put it in tutorial and with a few games played, anyone will have a good idea what is destructible and what not. Bigger issue is sniping at targets behind foliage where it will require less skill to actually aim well for good shooting opportunities. It raises the skill floor and wg already raised it pretty damn high with things like armor penetration indicator. The game is just getting more boring to play. I started playing in 2013 and fell in love with its complexity, gradually the game is doing more and more things for you. I may be weird but I actually enjoyed having to remember the last positions of enemies, hp etc. on my own, it was simply more satisfying than today
You're describing what dumbing down the game is with out calling it dumbing down the game. That extra information does nothing but makes the game easier to play and takes one less mechanic in the game to master. A lot of those hard to hit shots is a feel after spending 1000s of hours on each map and when we take those shots, it's out of instinct.
One of the experiences that makes a game worth playing is the ability to master it. Taking that away is just one less reason or purpose to keep playing. Anyone can pick up a game but keeping them is the true art of creating a good game.
To me is dumping down cause i can.t stand to see so much red on the screen.by the way, they have a box:hide the non.historical elements but, still, they force u to see those stupid 3d models;)many of them hiding the weakspots...
@@collins9708 I understand the enjoyment of mastering a game. I don't think implementing this feature will take away the skill you have learned though. It will still give you an edge over the competition since the outliner is only visible when you are hovering over a tank. You will still know what positions you can pre-aim, and what structures you can shoot through before a tank even reaches your line of fire.
"It's just providing you with more information" Yes it is, just like how all a wallhack is doing is "providing you with more information". How can you not see that is the definition of dumbing down the game??
What about a credit and/or bond boost for tanks with worse community performance averages? OP reward tanks should be given deferential match making so the best they get is +1 MM. And a rework to ammo types so there are damage, accuracy, and pen tradeoffs.
There was a battle weight system back then, when there were no t10 arties or lights. Basically it would give your t8 arty MM of a t10 tank(battletier), there even was battletier 13(i think can't remember) which only clickers had, idk why they removed it(maybe because of the new MM with templates) but that was a tool to solve all the bullshit in the game that we have right now.
Tank OP for its tier? Give it a higher battletier so very balanced T8 would never see a battle with T6 tanks.
Tier 10 tank broken af? Give it battletier 13 so it would never see anything other than full Tier10 battles, with same broken OP tanks.
Is the Tier10 tank trash on its tier but good against lowtiers, well then give it a battletier range where it cant meet the OP Tier10 tanks but also no weak T8s.
Its basically a variable MM instead of the crap +2/-2, the +2/-2 would be still applied but on the battletier not on the vechicle tier. I think Warthunder has something like that, doest it?
@@Target850 war thunder has battle ratings, instead of tiers. i mean, technically they do have "ranks", where vehicles go from 1 to 7 i believe, but matchmaking is done by battle ratings (with a spread of 1 BR, BR goes up to 11.3 i think, and it is done in steps like 1.0, 1.3, 1.7, 2.0, 2.3, 2.7, 3.0 etc.) and battle ratings are dynamic, so on paper, tanks that average excellent results move up in BR, and tanks that underperform move down in BR. but yeah, a system similar to this, that may even account for modules (for example, you're playing a stock tank vs a fully researched and equipped tank), would be an upgrade over the current system.
I really respect people that make content for this game. But I also can't help and feel sorry for them. I've been with this game since the Beta. And while it has seen a large number of improvements it is also obviously clear that Wargamming will not change their principles here. They will do everything they can to increase their profits. And as long as that works, the gameplay, meta and everything else will either remain the same or get worse. So anyone that's hopeing there will be some kind of "change" here, well I think that's naive.
Play the game if you feel it's fun. But don't expect that it will change.
I actually quite liked the new tank silhouettes being added, it adds a lot to the quality of life.
I personally think it would already be a great start if wargamming started adding substancial weakspots to the turret armour of their newly added tanks.
From what I've seen, a lot of the "improvements" are just previously banned mods to begin with. I don't know if they just think it's easier to give everyone the mod instead of trying to combat it or if they really can't stop the banned mods to begin with but either way it has and always will make the game easier.
Just another idea; I was thinking that it would be so useful to have something like a shooting range that you can try and feel any tank with any combination of skills/equipments freely. It is so painful to grind a tank just to see it is not your taste.
Not good for WG. They won't sell any credits if they follow your idea. I spent plenty of credits to climb into IS-7 way faster and it's not for me tbh. If they had a shooting range i wouldn't buy the credits so there you go here is your answer
This is why I watch tank reviews before grinding
I believe some time ago, in some interview, someone from WG said that they didn't even expect the game to last this long. If this was really the case, I think WG knows their game is dying and is currently just trying to squeeze out as much money as they can while they can. It's a super pessimistic view I know but it just feels like it.
iep...and come one now days online are weterans left (100k on both servers).........……...….………
i think will be a long time till it dies...... they still make billions
This game is going to be alive forever and the only reason is because this is the only tank game which is "good"
@@IllllllllIlI yea no competition, war thunder is dogwater compared to wot
I've always thought there should be a special page in-game where players can choose to watch videos from all educational community contributors. Wg is clearly not capable or does not want to make a viable tutorial themselves, then why not promote the people who promote your game in return by recommending their videos as tutorials. This is a win/ win for both sides, wg will not have to spend resources making tutorials, at the same time people who make good content will receive a bigger following and motivation to continue promoting the game.
As for the skill floor thing, that's probably the most frustrating aspect for unicums and better players in general, cause they tend to strive for perfection and if a lower level player can achieve that perfection easier with help from penetration indicators etc. it kills the competitive vibe over time. That said players who are good and have played for years have easier access to many little tweaks like bond equipment, already grinded field mods, very good crews, etc. which also makes it unfair to newer people fighting against them. I cannot offer a reasonable solution about this though, it is possible if you redesign the game from scratch, but that means pretty much creating a new game which is never going to happen for financial and marketing reasons
I agree, the only games i have seen with this feature is Battlefield 4 and iirc Battlefield V has it as well where there is content creator videos and tutorials in the main menu
Really nice ideas but honestly the biggest help they could give new players without dumbing down gameplay is giving sixth sense to everyone so the people don't get clapped in their t5 or whatever without even realizing that they where spotted
agree and would b so easy to do
They should give the tanks to make good tutorials to their revenue department 😆 that seems to be their best department.
@@leonschroeder4771 yeah it's so dumb to not have 6th sense by default
i have been playing the game since the beginning and many of my friends that i invited to the game quitted just after 1 week of playing, playing tier 1 2 3 is so tragical, you are slow, your crew is very bad, hitting something makes it impossible and on of top of that as u mentioned they dont know about spotting mechanic, hull down position, hiding behind the bush (they think bushes are here for better graphic impressions) and when they get in +2mm they just die in 30sec of a game since they dont know where they gonna meet other tanks and just ends up in massive crossfire they dont understand why they cant pen that tank but he can one shot them, they dont even have enough money to go for gold ammo... they just get a very very bad experience during that time and i dont blame them
It's the Russian gaming experience Kkomrade
And they get gold spammed by players trying to drive up their stats massacring noobs.
that happened to me alot made me go to world of tanks blitz
you know, i just discovered you with this video. I can’t do anything but agree. So much people are leaving the game, even the super unicum, because of the current meta, the « kranked » meta. You cannot play regular tanks, which don’t have 350mm turret armor and pen. I’ve been playing since 2013, and i see the game becoming so bad… Tier X is becoming very hard to play. I can’t play my dear M60 anymore :,(
WG in their incredible Belarusian wisdom, made so many tanks redundant and useless.

i used to play since the first official release, i played with my best friend we grinded the US Medium line and enjoyed the fuck out of our Pershings. we could research the M48 as soon as they released t10 meds, and it was a very nice tank. you faced E50Ms and T62A-s which were all very different, but each had strenghts and weaknesses. when i came back after a few year break and me and my buddy platooned in our M48s, and we just got absolutely demolished by flat out better tanks, which didnt seem to have any tradeoffs compared to the old "Rock-Paper-scissors" balance we were used to. there is simply 0 fun in this gameplay right now. either play non-meta tanks and perform worse, or play the same shit as everyone else, which makes the wide selection of vehicles you can choose a fucking farce.
Thank you for uploading the replay! I'm the player that played in the first game you showed with FV4005.
i personally want wot from 2012-2013 back
Something like Wot Classic
I started playing the game in 2012, back in the days tanks have weak spots where you can aim for them in order to damage them. Like the vk4502B, it was hard to pen frontally but it has a little machine gun and a driver port which you can easily pen if you know that it is a weak spot. Then after learning the weak spots, you should learn the map positioning wherein a tank destroyer can snipe from this position, a heavy tank can brawl in this position, a medium tank can flank on this position. I think it was a fun experience wherein if you truly spend time on the game you can fully develop advantages over your opponent
I think wargaming is slowly killing wot's appeal for the old-time players (heck some of them for sure already quit). The knowledge that the veterans developed during their thousands of battles will generally be Thanos snapped on this new feature that they are planning to implement. I know it's a good feature to attract the new players but keeping those veterans to teach those new players instead is much better. Wargaming already started destroying their appeal on the old players wherein tanks don't have any frontal weak spots, Now tanks don't have frontal weak spots it is either you load gold or you cry on the corner.
I think wargaming is also in a tight situation since they can never nerf a premium tank and they need to make their time/money consuming reward tanks "worthy"
They should have never implemented premium tanks. Premium option should be a purchasable upgrade for any tank.
If they do implement this at least cap it at tier4 or tier5 helping new players and not destroy the smart plays and terrain usage in higher tiers
Just give it for 1000 battles. gives you great training that way, and lets be honest. If you have 10k plus battles you dont care a sub 1000 battle player having a bit advantage.
@@cheetahrunout Re-rolled accounts then become a far more serious problem. You're literally just rewarding players with a competitive edge if they reroll their account every 1k games.

When you suggested the tier nine campaign I felt my heart skip a beat... I was filled with joy just imagining for half a second how much fun I could have
I agree with everything you said except for the outline mechanic. I honestly don't think the impact is such a drastic problem as it is presented in this video. The skill difference between a good player and a bad player has so little to do with how the outline is presented that it's almost irrelevant. Though I do understand that you present this as an example of a more systemic issue like map design. The one issue I do have with this line of thinking, is presenting this game in any way as truly competitive. Sure at high levels of clan wars it can be, but it will never be in pubs, and was laughable as an esport.
That's just salt on his part - for learning something that newbies get for 'free', Bit like, how the early mathematicians must of felt when calculators first came out
Sure... being told exactly where the shell will pen and not pen never impacts gameplay (this is sarcasm). Its basically cheating and you can turn it on and off at will. You don't need a bs aimbot, simply get better at playing the game and learn how the mechanics work. If you don't learn, I say "get good".
I’d love to see a domination game mode , three cap Right and left flanks and one in the centre with the centre one being worth 2 points per second , but the catch is 20v20 on the grand battle maps.
The last time I had fun in tier 10 was during the streamer clash? I believe it was called this way. The 7vs7. You could just take any tank and have a positive impact at the game by being good. I used my Type 5 Heavy, I just used the weight of the tank to slowly crush the ennemies without stopping (20 km/h --> -600hp) they all tried to perma track me (3 shots from 277 needed to track me once, 1.5s repair time, good luck) I though that was so epic just brawling arround like a heavy boxer against light childs. I achieved something like 75% winrate in this tank during the game mode. the battles were often close and you had your little adrenaline rush each time. in FFA? yeah you mean the 15-0 simulator where by the time you arrive to your position half the ennemi / ally team has suicided like tier 1 bots? not enjoyable, still some decent game, like 1 in 10, the rest, even when you do 8k+ damage and still lose, it's bullshit.
Yea the 7v7 stuff was really good especially the second time with the improved point boosters that didn't make people suicide. Wish they'd make it a semi regular thing even without the streamers
yeh this Brawl Event was kinda fun! I used to play the non meta tanks in my Garage. And like u said, if you are good even with non meta tanks you have had an impact. also i didnt use any premium ammunition at all and were able to get out with + credits.
i hope they bring this mode back!
I just found you...enjoyed your commentary. Smart. I've played since 2014 and the Hellcat was god king tank at that time. One of the things I actually enjoyed about the game at first was trying to figure out the weakspots for what seemed like an amazing amount of tanks.
Great video. Very articulate with your points and I agree it would be great to have some variety in the end-game content.
As a 50% player and have never played clan wars and only have tech tree tanks to use if I did, I'm going to agree with you on these things, your points and solutions make perfect sense. Will WG listen, I doubt it unfortunately.
Good stuff man. I made this point back when they removed friendly fire. It's been a process and not a good one. The game, I believe, has lasted so long precisely because it was so hard to master and required a great amount of knowledge and the skill to apply it.
Let's not forget how hard is to new people to get crew with 1 skill, if they reroll it for free (starting from tier 5) and not gold they finish they first skill is around end of tier 7, beginning of tier 8. This mechanic worked back in the days but this days there is too many people with few skills crews on lower tier.
Releasing a cw campain with tier 9 as an experiment whould actually be pretty cool tho. What whould make it perfect is banning reward tanks aswell, so clans dont play c1b or kpz because of their huge versatility. I personally never play CW (reason is the obvious) but that'd be a good motivator to try it out!
Kajzoo, I've been playing this game since 2011, but I've never payed WG any real-time currency. Meaning - everything I have in my garage I earned in-game. Back in the day, there were no XP or credit or Crew XP boosters, you had to grind and grind to get that Maus or E100 or IS7 or even T110E5... then you had FV215b, which had the best gun in a HT class after being added to the game, and ppl couldn't spam gold at you cuz you had to pay gold for extra pen, that's why its called "gold spam" to this day, there was no "spaced armor" or "godlike turrets" with no weakspots.
Point of this post is this - while grinding your way to that tier X, you had to play and learn the mechanics of different classes, where to aim and shoot, how to outmanouver enemy TD or slower heavy, with no help on the side or any guides or content like yours. Game was much slower and you had time to think your next move. All you had were your buddies, 10 fingers, minimap and a tank which you learnt more and more about with every game played. Ohh, and some ppl had brain (today's uniqums and s. Uniqums).
Well dude "back in the days" tell how an e75 or e100 supposed to pen u with standard ammo?!today is the same;)prem ammo for everybody was the smartest idea that wg had.so stop cryin
@@sorinancuta3934 That's the thing that new and newer players don't understand. You had to learn how to angle your tank, where to shoot it to pen, cuz then ALL tanks had weakspots. IS4 was what today obj. 279e is, but no one said it was OP cuz it had weak roof and lowerplate, but if you didnt' know where to shoot it, it was the thoughest tank to face, plus it was a fkn TIER 9!! Watch the video again, @kajzoo said it perfectly well - dumbing the game down and simplifying things that are of crucial value for understanding how the game works and how it's meant to be played are more and more neglected and blurred in order for WG to monetize it more and make more and more money (even if it means in short terms). Kajzoo said it himself - Medium tanks are becoming more and more useless in hulldown/corridor based meta, 9 or 10 y. ago they were the ones who won games by flanking and penning sides and rears of those Heavies, cuz armouring and angling then had its role. Today you just autoaim, spam HEAT at everyting and pen, not even knowing where or why or how you did it, you just did damage and that's enough. That's why we're seeing more and more and more 10+ k dmg games on youtube, same goes for ranked battles.
@@Gajnicar101 weakspots?u.re so funny...."weakspots" that u can.t pen them without prem ammo;)
@@sorinancuta3934 You can, but it's harder without prem ammo because evey tank that is being introduced to the game has thicker armor that it would have if it was intorduced few years ago. Best example is Chieftain MK6. Would it need 350 mm of turret armor 6 or 7 years ago when it was first mentioned? No, cuz there were no corridor based maps only, give it 250 mm and a weakpoint on top, players would eventualy figure it out and aim for that, or track it and flank it, instead of doing what WG is doing now.
I don't think you're getting Kajzoo's and my point as well here, since you're obvoiusly newer player (circa 5y. my estimation)
@@Gajnicar101 yes, they introduced more and more armor but not even back in the days you couldn.t pen with standardard ammo the "weakspots" especially with the german lines;)today it.s the same:u can.t pen a 100 mm "weakspot" not even with prem ammo.why?stupid rng, stupid game...maybe u tell me how it.s possible to bounce a borat or a prog 46 with an e4,60tp etc...i call it the rng for prem tanks.i don.t if u noticed but everytime when u shoot a one shot prem tank u.ll bounce or just track it;)
What pisses me off is WGs "testing". Even in the best key scenario, they just put out a Sandbox where basically everything goes through, except like VERY controversial stuff (Crew 2.0 ex). Then they tune it a bit (in best case) without sharing any info and it goes STRAIGHT TO COMMON TEST! Happened with field mods and this new unbalanced RTS plus basically all of the new tank lines recently
they took the worst change from sandbox aka HE rework and added it. but didn't add the gold and regular ammo rebalance where normal ammo was doing 15~20% extra damage to incentivize its use
I got a dumb and fun idea
Decrease the hp of your ammorack by the percentage of gold you bring
As an example tryhards who spam gold for marks/noobs who don't wanna aim for typical weakspots
will be blown up by a single shot to the ammorack
If they choose to bring a load out with full gold
Nah, just nerf premium ammo (260/290/68 instead of 260/330/68) and limit to about 30% the amount of premium ammo you can bring.
But don't reduce their price, otherwise people will abuse of it.
And stop making dumb impenetrable armor, give armored tanks WEAKSPOTS !!!!
@@Jules-kp7rw I don't agree on the ammo capacity. I think 30% is reasonable (10% like some suggest would not be sufficient). For example, take the Bat -Châtillon 25t, which is known to have a limited ammo capacity. With ⅓ of gold, it would have 20 APCR and 10 HEAT. That's absolutly fine.
@@Jules-kp7rw I find your proposition interesting too. But I never felt the rng was a problem, it is frustrating for sure, but gives an incertain factor which makes the game more intense in critical situations.
However, giving an alpha dmg drawback would certainly force players to choose their ammunition type more carefully and I think it would beneficial for the gameplay.
@@Jules-kp7rw To conclude before going to bed :
In any case giving weakspots to over armored tanks.
Then either nerf premium pen and premium loadout capacity, but do not change the price, or give premium an alpha dmg drawback (10% seems good) but in this case make the cost similar to standard rounds.
Or you can do both of it, the higher is the pen advantage, the higher is the alpha dmg drawback.
Overall, I think we'd all be happy if Wargaming were to Rework/change existing maps, reducing +/-2 matchmaking down to +/-1 matchmaking, Artillery Lights and maybe TDs getting limited to 1/2/3 respectively, the tutorials getting a major overhaul, and last but certainly not least rebalancing to OP Tanks.
These sentiments are usually echoed in the community but this video is such an eye-opener to why the game is dumbed down so much. If they never explain anything to you, the of course newbies will turn away.
i would rebalance EVERY fucking Tier 10, spice things up by like 1000 and anjust things from there. i personally prefer mayham over a stale and boring meta. i mean, how long did it take them to notice just how fucking strong the Kran is to finally decide to nerf it? in CSGO they released a revolver which was utterly broken, and it took them exactly 24 hours to completly rebalance the whole thing and ship the update.
I think they should make the vehicle outline thing available up to tier 5 or 6. Its a good thing to help *New* players learn what you can shoot through and what you cannot shoot through easing them into the tougher mechanics of the game. But having this feature at high tiers where things get a bit more serious is gamebreaking. It takes away the knowledge that experienced players have learned over tens of thousands of battles.
Every tank should have weighting in MM. Tanks like the EBR 105 make most of the other lights useless. Heavies like the chieftain and 279 can almost just hold W and win the game.
Make the new contour system for tiers 1-5.
I agree with EBR, it disqualifies other lights.
But with the heavies hell no, there are tomato players that barely make 2k dpg on chieftains. So no, tank doesn't win games.
Nobody cares about tier 1-5.
No, EBR is not op, the only problem surge when match maker is not balanced or correct. If both teams gets 1 ebr each, no problem whatsoever. But when you try to acomplish a spoting mission with your Amx 13 105 light and you get a MM with 2 Ebrs in your team and 2 more on enemy team, then the feeling is just that the game is shitting on you literaly! No din for you, sucker paying player!
So, players, forget about exelence into this game, just DON'T PAY THEM ANYMORE!
@@punish0 Guess you guys dont want new blood to keep the community healthy then?
thank you very much, your totally right...for me it was patch 18.1 i think that started the down hill slide and now it's snowballing.
About the contour change... Not only I loved it, but I actually suggested it when we were still in the Beta testing....
The problems with the game right now are annoying clown cars and overpowered hull down meta. Strategically placed weak spots IN ALL TANKS would reduce that second one.
The issue is that wot gains almost nobody nowadays so by them "trying" to make the new players learn more with these stupid mechanics will just make already dedicated players who have been playing for years to just quit cause it will just annoy them and make them quit.
The thing about reaching higher tiers and having something to pop up to teach new players how to sidescrape, how shell velociti works etc. actually exists in the game.
I played on a new account to do the refferall program and there were so many pop ups but they all lead to the youtube videos or play the video in game. Not saying its bad or anything but it could be done in some kind of a game mode or just added to the one where you play against bots(cant remember the name of the mode).
But I completly agree on the fact the base tutorial is complete garbage
great vid, keep up the good work
I've been conviced for more than 2 years that a tier 9 CW would be a great idea because of the balancing of this tier with lot's of differents tanks that each have a particularity but none of them is actually ruining the game experience of the others. And it would be very skill based because the players and the strater would need to use at the max efficiency the advantage of all the tier 9 tanks and try to lower the effect of their drawbacks in order to win.
Wheeled vehicles are the most upsetting change they have made for me. I can deal with the rest, but 90% of the time I hit one (which is maybe 10% of the time) I get a bounce off its hubcap, its ridiculous. They need to address how many bounces the EBR's and wheeled get, its ridiculous, not to mention its hard enough to shoot them they should NEVER bounce. Then them breaking HE, where I shoot tanks with HESH in my FV and do 0 damage. Zero. Ridiculous, it just bounces off a leo and does no damage, not just once but many times to the point I don't even enjoy the FV or KV2 anymore, broken. So my HE or HESH can do 0 damage, but an EBR can bounce multiple shots, sure makes sense for the disconnected WG. I haven't given them $ on my account since they added the EBR just playing for free now.
Sad part is, they wont give a crap to this
WG in 2030: Heres some new mechanics that drive, shoot and angle ur armour for you! You just need to select tanks!
good thing I left this game 5 years ago. I was also a player from the release and the power creep + impenetrable tanks + gold rounds killed it for me.
I still remember how fun it was to play the VK4502A as a heavy medium…
The aiming contour is a good change. To know what can be shot through and what can't on every single map, you probably would need 10s of thousands of battles.
I wish if all this existed in our day - new players have a lot advantages to start playing/grinding faster/learning etc .. while in our days 10 years ago we have to learn all this by ourselves to figure it out all and be very skilled. At the end get called not skilled only gold spammer noob! Lol
Everybody can spam so this is just an excuse of bots;)
Great video- thanks for being brave enough to speak the truth. I love this game, and have played it for a long time. But it is nowhere near as good as it used to be. The current corridor map/hull down meta has really made the game far less variable and enjoyable than it used to be. A lot of the battles feel predictable and repetitive now, whereas it used to be much more varied and interesting. I really hope that Wargaming will fix the game, and restore it to it's former glory.
How is the contour system any different from hit indicators / last spotted on the map
It's additional information. I also don't like how some buildings are destructible and some aren't so this really eliminates any randomness to it and makes it more consistent. It's a welcomed addition imo.
I know this video is 7 months old at this point but even on console this is a problem too. We had to play an introductory training mission, and we were given about 10 training missions that had incentive for new and experienced players to play. Now we're forced to play a single type of tank until tier 3 without many tips and tricks. And the Cold War mode is the only mode that has training missions; now we have extremely un-experienced players getting multiple high tier tanks and still not understanding the fundamentals of the game which ruins the experience for veteran players
Man, they are really killing this Game. Would love if they actually would care for this game instead of making it Noobfriendlier to make more Money. I wish more CC's would talk about the State of the game. Great Video!
Edit: Wtf is that FV4005 RNG. Better than with my 0,24 Dispersion Grille 15 lol
CC have talked about the state of the game and WG has never given a monkies about it. Sir Foch for one, you may not of liked him but he was on the players side and told WG what was wrong with the game, shared by the community. Got him nowhere. We are cash cows for WG and nothing more.
I wish I knew which tanks were competitive at top tier when I started. Now I have a 277 that's awesome but frustrating in the current meta, an IS 7 which is fun but absolutely eaten by gold spammers, an AMX M4 54 solid tank but it felt like a worse S.Conqueror. Bottom line is, I dislike the new meta because I've shed blood sweat and tears only to find out my tier X is frustrating to play because they're not meta tanks.
Cries in E100
Is-7 is actually great fun, if you play it with turbo setup. Its a bit try and error at the beginning, but as Soon as you find out which positions work and which dont, you can have fun games in it. Its the only Tier X tank where I have still fun in though. And the risk you take if you play like this stands in no relation to the reward. As an arty you can visit your favourite 18+ website and still do the same damage, or even more
Yeah, the 277 is terrible. IS-7 used to be great until all the gold spam made armor completely irrelevant.
Mate, jagpze100 was my first tier 10. It was so so painful to play it
@@TehButterflyEffect bruh what are you talking about lmao
the 277 is good to great, the is7 is basically meta at this point
Before I stopped playing, I was a very casual player mostly stuck at tier 8. It would be interesting to hear how that's working/not
outline feature is great thing, they are moving in right direction, its so annoying when there is bush between you are enemiy and you cant see, if he is partly behind rock, or house or something, this is great, I love it I really hope they implemente it
The things that drove me away from this game were the predatory premium ammo and consumable mechanics, and the ridiculous amount of RnG involved, both in shell dispersion, penetration, and damage. The fate of a game could literally be decided by a high or low roll. That, and the +-2 matchmaking which was just horrible, even worse than War Thunder's buggered up BR system, at least in that you have a chance and there's no bogus DPM, hitpoints, and made-up armour profiles to screw you over.
The dumbasses at Wargaming keep running into player retention issues, and instead of addressing the ACTUAL problem, being the predatory and RNG game mechanics, they instead add crutches that allow even more toxic gameplay and discourage good gameplay. New outlines won't matter anyway if random shot dispersion makes all of your unaffordable premium rounds slam into a rock anyway.
RNG is a core component of WoT, and it always has been. If you don't like RNG, you should never have picked up the game on the first place. +-2 is a fair system, as you will be top tier just as often as you are bottom tier.
@@WhirlwindCK lol what
If RNG is a core component of your competitive PvP game, then that's poor game design.
+-2 isn't fair, it's ridiculous to suggest it is. Not with how Wargaming balances by fantasy numbers they pick out of the air.
@@eb3yr then why did you start playing? RNG spices things up. It gives a complete tomato a tiny chance to completely destroy a super unicum. The RNG makes the game interesting; without it, might as well go play a true competitive FPS. Pick one with skill-based MM while you're at it.
Also, your "predatory mechanics" are a part of how WG turns a profit. God forbid a company wants to make money.
@@WhirlwindCK Lol what how does having a random chance of your shots missing or doing no damage, or low rolling when theirs high roll, make the game interesting and spice things up?
Those predatory mechanics aren't healthy for the game, though. The ridiculous advantage earnt just by using premium rounds shouldn't be a thing, period.
sadly no amount of logic will reach the ears of the wg hierarchy cause they use revenue -+ to determine how much change the game needs, no hope whatsoever
What I think would fix the game:
1 tier difference matchmaking instod of 2
Bigger maps so medium tanks can actually flank and reworking most of the maps to have more access points
Reduce the number of players in each team for certain maps
Game mode for only tech tree vehicles
Old arty mechanics or reducing range from where they can fire and giving them armor
Old weakspots (you could pen certain spots on armor like machine gun thing in the front of American tanks)
Adding new tiers so tanks can like mouse so we don't have modern top-tier tanks go against ww2 top tier tanks...
Nerfing premium tanks
Reworking ammo types
I really agree with you. I play this game since 2010 and current state of the game now is really unenjoyed to play every patch game update.
didn't really agree with your initial impression of the new 'obstacle shading' feature (you are right that no one asked for it - but didn't think would be a big deal) but after you explained why you felt that way I can see what you mean. If WG actually provided some useful training / in-game tutorials / ANYTHING to help ease new players into the game in an enjoyable and most importantly useful way then wouldn't need these types of catch all 'life jackets' to help new players at higher tiers (which result in removing the nuance and dynamics of each match -- i.e: everyone being hull down)
Totally agree T10 is a joke unless in one of the like 5 meta tanks. The missions and campaigns are just awful too. Some of the missions are completely dependent on random chance of getting into a game with the right number or tier of tank (for example MT15 for the T-55A i've been stuck on forever because for like every 15 games I maybe get like 2 or 3 matches that have enough of the appropriate TDs - so then I have to like play the game but am less motivated because my focus is on finishing one particular mission)
So much potential still in this game. I don't think simplifying it is all bad but they aren't doing it in the right ways at all. I'm still waiting for Crew 2.0 to rear its ugly head again. (literally - one of the dumbest ideas i've ever heard at from the conceptual to practical level - perfect example of WG not getting the point; or more likely not givng a sht)
Ther also mod that do that to.
I agree with all you've said. I remember back in the days when we had a lot of events (like the world football champion with those 3v3 matches), those days are fun. But now, it seems like if i leave this game and come back in 2 years nothing will have changed, apart from new cancer hull down tank and OP rewards that people can buy with their wallet... This game has so much potential but still WG it's just deciding to not do anything to even get close to it. I decided to quit this game time ago and i don't regret it. This game is just not fun anymore.
yeah those gamemodes were fun, i remember those days as well. also thinking about quitting for good this time ive been playing on again off again and i think ive reached the tipping point
Thanks for great videos
Another aspect to consider is that there is a prolific number of players using mods like perma contours and toggle vegetation. By introducing some of these capabilities into the standard HUD they can level the playing field a bit because experienced players have been dumbing down the game for themselves with mods for years.
Yes more tanks with god-like turret with an ant size weak spot so people can sit at a hull down spot and just shoot because why not Wargaming
I'm glad I have uninstalled WoT last month and I feel so relaxed
You make a number of excellent points, Kajzoo. There are a ton of things in the game that when compounded together make for a less than stellar late game experience, make for terrible matches aka Turbo Stomps. I have all of the tech tree tier 10s and a few other 10s thrown in to boot, but I find the tier 10 experience to be absolutely abysmal. Stale maps, terrible map design, view range inflation, rushing new players to tier 10 via blueprints and the like, match maker template (Kran=/= 50b), all of these things combine to make for little fun. I would love to see new maps, or even adopting Ranked battles 10 vs 10 format for tier 10 games would bring something new. I don't know what the answer is, but I know it isn't adding a bunch more premium/reward tanks to the game.
What we need is new maps, make the existing ones bigger. Bring back HE for "field tanks" and leave the current ammo for arty as it is, perhaps a little bit more damage but way less damage.
As somsone who has played the game for about 10 years, I never felt like I needed an indicator that tells me if someone is behind a tree or not...the pen indicator I do see it handy since I honestly don't have as much time as I used to so I can't be always checking on the newer tanks.
I just miss the good old days when 50 100's and IS-3's were leading the way on tier 8 tank company's. Back then it was a criteria from WG that premiums were weaker than their tech tree equivalents but the moment they realized the income potential with stronger premiums was a pivotal moment for this game. I honestly think that one thing WG and maybe most of the playerbase hasn't considered is because they cannot directly nerf premium tanks because of the backlash but they can change everything around these vehicles i.e buff everything around them so they are not directly nerfing the premiums but still somewhat reintroducing some fucking balance on this game 🤣
Honestly what the game needs mostly is more premium soviet tanks.
Completely agree, we don't have enough chieftains. I would also like more tanks that don't have a lower plate and more wheeled vehicles, make them faster though, the ebr only goes 95 which feels a little slow.
@@GetUncomplacent the next obvious step is to rename normal ammo as noob ammo or better remove it completely from the game and make all players pay 4000 credis for every shell.
I started to play in 2012, it took me few month to get first tier 10 as a 49% truly average joe. Couple of years later, it was down to less then 1K battles or so with true grind of stock tanks. And then, couple of years ago it became way less then a week. I played 45 battles on T-95 to research T110E3 !!! And that was before fragments system.
But my journey through all the pains of low tiers made me a better player - 49 -> 59%.
New players are deprived of this opportunity. They get tier 6 from day 0, they have fragments, they have boosters - and they get to top tiers in no time, without knowing anything about mechanics (camo, spot, shell types). Same can be said about maps, vehicles weak spots and other params. And then we (and they) have our beloved 5:15.
I really like the "trying to drown themselves in a teaspoon full of water" line, never heard that one before :)
thanks king for the good content
Excellent video. Kudos to you for this.
As someone that ( I guess WAS is the right word now) was a unicum and who played WoT right from the beginning and was practically forced to stop playing it due to all of the horrible changes that game has endured over the years, I fully agree with every word you have said.
I miss the old days when this game was entertaining and had some balance, unique mechanics, and diversity of choice between nations. Now it's all the same power crept junk.
Also, awesome one-shootable gameplay on the FV.
Thinking of new “tanks” they can add would be wheeled TD’s or a completely new class of IFVs( we pretty much have one amx 13 57 ) that mostly follow the characteristics of medium tanks except for the vr that would sit higher then mediums but lower then scouts
And removing ebr
I really miss the days when I could get on the game with just about any tank and not only did the games last longer than 3 min but they were fun. You had to actually understand your tanks roll. Now most of the players play every tank like a TD.
Really glad to see I am not the only one who thinks negatively about the new outline that WG want to add.
Been discussing it on the forums with little success, as the majority of the players seem to not see how it dumbs down the gameplay.
I have been playing wot on pc for about 5 months now, on and off, i started off strong, but have now lost my first lust to grind for the e100 my favourite tank, although having that said i am still drawn back to it sometimes as i have been playing wot blitz on my ipad for 6 years.
I started playing in 2018. I found it enjoyable and even did some Tier X games. Wheeled vehicles drove me out of playing the highest tiers (9+10). I don't have a 20 year old's reflexes anymore. Combine that with the terrible MM on the NA server where you constantly find yourself at -2 and I have simply gave up. I did play tiers 4-6 for awhile, but last year when I moved to Spain and WGing refused to even entertain the idea of letting me move my account to the EU, I am now done completely.
2100 wn8 player here I agree with most of these statements and most of them were the main factor of my decline in playtime recently but I did stick around to grind the 114 sp2 and would love more unique rewards vehicles like that.
I don't know if it's an update that came out or what, but a few days ago I started taking hits to my ammo rack within the first shot or two every game, no matter what tank I was in, and shots that should have penetrated enemy tanks either constantly ricochet or do 0 dmg. And these were shots to the belly or rear of the enemy.
Or my shots would go flying over and away from tanks while I'm stopped on flat ground and fully aimed.
Last night I had a losing streak of 16 or 17 matches, each one full of these problems. On my last match it came down to me in my t29 vs a t6 TD. I managed to come out behind him and nail him in the back, but the shot did no damage and he managed to destroy me while I was reloading.
I uninstalled the game and deleted it from my steam library.
From SEA asia side, I am playing from Australia and the Ping is devastating, 3 months ago I was playing on either Aus or Asia server & it was awesome 3-5 hrs a day, but now the Ping & inconsistency of the internet is severely messing up my time on WOT.
About state of the game - I enjoyed it the most from 2013 to 2015 when I was new player, I was improving and learning the game and I even found it relaxing. Sometimes we played team battles with KV1S and Hellcat. There were challenges as unlocking T32, IS3, AMX50100 and getting 3 skill crews for them.
Some people enjoyed seal clubbing with T18, some with T67, some with Hellcat and I don't think tier 10 was ever fun. But I loved Chaffee and M46 Patton. People played low and mid tiers, so it was somewhat fun to play them to relax and there was variety.
Breaking point when many players left was adding many OP heavies and other tanks: ScorpionG, Defender which basically erased any free to play content. It was after nerfing/balancing all low tier tanks so MM for mid tiers got horrible and soon it moved to high tiers.
Now game went to state when you can play a few premiums (bourrasque, progetto, hwk30, ...) and few tier 10s (leopard, kran, ehm, stb, manticore, t100, amx13105). Anything else is irrelevant. I loved tier 9. But since Patton does not have by far better gun handling than other tanks and it has 225pen at 500m on APCR, it's not competitive when it's forced to snipe and it cant play on losing flanks, cause it's one of slowest tank. To my surprise, tier 7 mediums are fine, they are not much worse that tier 8 tech tree ones and people on tier 7 are often pretty clueless so I can make some difference.
Totally agree with you.
Wish WG would make frontlines a permanent gamemode! Those events were some of the most fun I've had in WoT.
The wierd thing is, ships are implementing alot of bans / 1 of each shiptype in CBs (CWs) with great respons from the community. I really cant see why the department next door dont see the benefits from that. I guess ranked was 1 step in that direction, but then it stopped.
I don’t know why they don’t have a coop mode in the game like warships, it lets you practice with newly acquired ships, always thought tanks should have the same
I know I’m a poor to average player, but I’ve noticed that a lot of Progetto, Borat and Object platoons in Standard Battles recently. As someone trying to play tech tree tanks without Gold ammo nor large consumables, this means I’m dead 30 seconds after they spot me.
You know, I think that this aiming indications will make the game more accessible for people like me who don't have good computer material. When blessed with good graphics and big screen, you'll overplay the other players because you just see and understand better.
With the update, not only will I be able to match more tanks, but also, as less shells are missed, it will become more satisfying to play wot. And the advantage is shared by everyone. HEAT players might be slightly more well off with the patch, but overall, I think this will be fine.
Also, when aiming through trees, you didn't see shit. Now you can understand what's happening. We don't need the realism of difficult aim through trees honestly.
Dude, Tier 9 Global Map would be insane, I would love it!!
SOO close to 20k already!!
I mean this has been happening for years now. I stop playing when they introduce rework the LT line and MM, the 3-5-7 MM, the freaking arty stun mechanic.
Like I miss the time when you have 12 top tier on both side making fight really long and intense. I miss when LT are meant for scouting not for fighting so they got +3 MM. I miss when you have weak spot so standard round still works.
Man, I got the main point of video but you deserve a GIGA respect for telling that arty missions are dumb. I wasn't mastering my gameplay with real tanks just to suffer in those squares and hope that somehow enemy's HTs will stay in full open and get 120 sec of stun
I used to play a lot of light tanks i took a break from the game for some time and now when I came back I feel like I cant play lights and the reason is the maps. I cant find match where i have map where light can shine.
While watching others build up damage from penning enemy tanks, I noticed that I am not getting half of what others are receiving. I've used all the bonuses, tokens and what have you, to build it up, but there is no improvement. Could you tell me what I need to do build or collect damage from penning and destroying tanks. Thank you so much in advance.
The new outline mechanic is the best thing that has happened in the game for years. Just because you like to play with custom resolution and low graphic settings to see stuff better, doesn't mean other people do too. Now you can actually play in 4k max details and still be able to aim properly without all the graphic effects messing up your aiming + being able to see bugged WG textures is pure gold.
1. obstacle shading- mods (cheat tundra)
It only gives you tips on where to to aim and makes the game easier for everyone.
2. last position on the map - mods
3. bulb which vehicle was spoted - mods
All these mods give you a big advantage over those that don't have them, so WG have to react according to it.
What really destroys the game are tunnel maps , kranwagen and chieftain etc.
No shell rebalance, but most of all no improvements to the older tanks.
The new chieftain will destroy the game on level 8, it's a terribly wrong way WG is going.
