Fulton Mackay Scottish legend... The beauty and humanity of this movie is that the 'local hero' is whoever you want it to be. Absolutely magical.

Best scene in the film and at the heart of what Local Hero is all about. Bill Forsyth gently pokes fun at the corporate world, the ecological message is strong throughout.

I think this is the most beautiful scene in any movie, ever.

"I only need the one, I have this here, I don't need another one" Wow, that is very zen, very profound. Very powerful scene.

Yeah, I felt the same about St Andrews West Sands. Not that anyone will ever get to buy that.

Yes was nice as we say. Don't go overboard so much. It's easy to read too much into what you see.

The great Fulton Mackay. He was also extremely modest. Porridge wouldn't have been as good have been without him, yet he said he was just acting while others like Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckinsale were being funny.

One of the reasons this movie makes me laugh over the fact that we still have people who value life and tradition. No amount of money will change their way no matter how much. ❤

Mac sure took a risk offering the hat full of sand. Of course Ben knew that to accept an offer like that would be to take advantage and that would be wrong.
