OMG😮😮 it's that simple!!!! Thanks for the video! I recently gotten my nails done for the 1st time at a nail salon & didn't want to go back to get it removed. I would've been upset with myself if I had paid for a simple process
Cant wait to try this! Got mine done for a wedding and they're so thick but they're lifting so my hair keeps getting stuck under them. So annoying 😓 but thanks for the tip!💕
I want to do mine at home because I've seen them get a little rough on clients at the salon. Maybe because they're in a hurry. I'll follow this gals directions to avoid damage.
Go to Walmart over the counter they have Soak Off Professional gel nails and all types of nails a bottle of 160z for only $4 for best results just file of the nail polish then soak your fingers for 10mins. It should then peel right off repeat process if necessary 😉
I tried this on a pedicure I got before quarantine - January 2020, I know, embarrassing, I was busy, no judgement please! ☺️ 🤣So maybe that’s why it took longer to get it all off. I suggest using cotton rounds and wrap them over the top of your toe nail because that is where I had the most trouble getting it all off. (I only had polish on the tops of my big toes if anyone was curious.) I also kept them wrapped for 20 minutes and it still took additional minutes of being wrapped, again perhaps because I’d had the polish on so long.
You have a nice nail bed. I like to scrape off the top shiny layer, put on some remover to just remove part of the gel and file off the rest as remover is very drying
I wish I had watched this before I watched a video just scraping the gel off, as you said the top layer is off my nails & they are splitting & brittle & they are also a bit painful at the moment. Great stuff!
On amazon, they sell these little clips. Basically u put the soaked cotton on the nail and clip it on ur finger. They come in a pack of toes and fingers, obviously toes are bigger. They work great, there is also an electric file which helps. My Nan got them us to share as we do each other’s nails, she bought me a Lamp etc. She’s amazing! I defo recommend the products! Hope this helps!
Gel polish is soak off with acetone, gel builder and poly gel is file off, you can leave the thinnest layer over your nail that will be able to soak off which would save you accidentally filing your natural nail😊
YES. I was ready to tear them off, but a week later I want to be able to type without constant mistakes...I want to be able to open packages without help, lol!
Help! Buffed the shine off, applied the acetone with cotton balls, then wrapped in foil. It's been over 25 min, the color comes off but the nails, for the most part, are still firmly in place. What could possibly be the issue? Thanks!
Thank you so much. It really worked. Now I do not have to pay extra for the gel to be removed at the salon. It is expensive enough to get it polished let alone having to pay again to have it removed🥰
@@TreeMa I have done this, but the gel nail polish wouldn't leave. I tried wrapping it again, but it didn't work. I even filed the nails before and after, but it still didn't work. Any advice?
This gets hard to do when my nails grow out long. My nails are not paper thin but they're also not thick so it just gets harder to remove the gel from the the tips of my nails without breaking them.
I have done this, but the gel nail polish wouldn't leave. I tried wrapping it again, but it didn't work. I even filed the nails before and after, but it still didn't work. Any advice?
Hi. I like the method of removing gel polish with the files. I have bio gel & forgot the specific file number you used. You used two different files I noticed?
I accidentally peeled off the gel colors, I didn't know it damages the nails. How can I restore damaged nails, and do you have a video of restoring damaged nails? Thank you.
I have tips with gel filling they were done by a beauty school student and ive broke 2 already so just want best way to get it off as there is nail glue and uv cured gel as well??
It shouldn't feel tender or sore, if it does feel sore afterwards it means you were too rough during the process. You definitely want to be gentle and let the acetone do the work instead of trying to scrape of the gel polish.
I actually put fake nails over my gel nails thinking it wasn’t going to do anything, when I went to take off my fake nails my gel nails ripped off and my pinky nail broke and now I only have half of my pinky nail. so DONT put fake nails over gel nails, IT HURTS and it ruins your nails.
I just soak my nails in acetone for like 20 mins and the gel polish starts to come off , then I soak for another 45 mins and the nails are off ,,, so simple
Did you get gel nail polish or did they dip your nails in a powder? The latter is referred to "gel dipped nails"! Either way, you can do this method on both types, but it will take a bit longer to get gel dipped powder off than gel polish.
Did you get GEL nails done or just the gel polish? I was hoping this video was actually about what the title states.."removal of GEL NAILS"..not polish.
It will be much harder. Cut off the fake nail and then soak them like she said. The fake nail won't come off so don't force it (I've been there it just takes layers of the nail off), take a small container with some more acetone in it and soak the nails. Check them regularly to see if they are melted
I put coconut or olive oil around my nails (fingers), cuticle and skin under my nails so my skin doesn't soak up the acetone and dry it out
Thanks for this tip! I was wondering what to do before getting the soak up into my skin
7eather this is what I was looking for!
Thanks so much for the tip
Great idea, thanks ;)
who’s here during quarantine💀
Sam Kennedy the struggle is real
🙋🏻♀️💅🏼😔
*raises hand
Mee :(((
am! I decided to just remove the gel polish rather than have it look old and raggedy, even if we are on quarantine!
OMG😮😮 it's that simple!!!! Thanks for the video! I recently gotten my nails done for the 1st time at a nail salon & didn't want to go back to get it removed. I would've been upset with myself if I had paid for a simple process
I gotcha
Sameee im rly am happy tht i found this video so i do not have to use money now since i can do it at home 😌
Cant wait to try this! Got mine done for a wedding and they're so thick but they're lifting so my hair keeps getting stuck under them. So annoying 😓 but thanks for the tip!💕

I've tried this before, It really works nicely
Thank you! Super helpful since we can’t get out during the pandemic quarantine. Worked really well!
You're welcome!
OMG THANK YOUUUUUU! I can’t stand my nails anymore and I haven’t got time to get them removed, you made my day!
Linette Cozaya you’re welcome! 😘😘
Your natural nails are really pretty
I soaked them for 20 minutes and i ended up having to file most of it off... My nails aren't looking too hot right now
same.....
I think it’s because you have gel builder. Not just gel colorS I’m stuck home with gel builder now and you must file it off. Can’t be soaked 😟
@-- you can try lol but you’ll be there forever! My nail person uses and electric filer!
Same

Thank you so much for the information
Thanks for sharing! Love how concise and clear this video was! 😊
Awww I'm so glad to hear! xxx
thanks ! The best thing is that I have everything I need at home ! really helpful

Thanks so much for this lovely tutorial. You saved my nails since I couldn't book a time at the saloon during the weekend. :)
You have a nice nail bed. I like to scrape off the top shiny layer, put on some remover to just remove part of the gel and file off the rest as remover is very drying
This works amazing and doesn't damage my nails at all! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
This is really helpful!! I just removed my gel nails damage-free!! ❤️💅🏻
You're welcome! xx
❤️❤️❤️❤️
you just saved me $5 but hey, every penney counts! and i cant be the only one who messed up the process 😅
God bless you
Tried this method. Had to soak it for over an hour, some nails broke, some survived. Not overly disappointed with the results.
Did you have gel nail polish or gel dipped powder over your nails?
@@TreeMa I had gel nail polish over my nails.
I did it on my own before searching this up and my nails are bleeding great 😀
Excellent, thanks so much. I had gel nails for the first time and they're almost 8th of an inch thick - my nails look deformed!
I wish I had watched this before I watched a video just scraping the gel off, as you said the top layer is off my nails & they are splitting & brittle & they are also a bit painful at the moment. Great stuff!
Oh noooo 😩😩 I’m so sorry your nails are super brittle and painful.

You saved me a lot of money! That is very benevolent of you. Thanks 🙏🏽
does any gel come off like that? or is it a special.kind of acetone removable gel? you'd be angel if.you answered (:
different products come off slightly differently or take a little longer but the technique is still the same :) x

That's what im wandering
You need Soak-off gel polish!
Gel polish is soak off with acetone, gel builder and poly gel is file off, you can leave the thinnest layer over your nail that will be able to soak off which would save you accidentally filing your natural nail😊
Life (and money) saver. THANK YOU SO MUCH for saving me $15-20!
anyone else got their nails done for the first time and losing it because you can't do a anything with them
YES. I was ready to tear them off, but a week later I want to be able to type without constant mistakes...I want to be able to open packages without help, lol!
you just saved me $15 thank you
I loved your video. So much easier to remove fake nails. You're the best!
Thank you so much for these amazing tips!!!
What lashes are you wearing? They're fab!
Sorry for the late reply hunn, but I’m wearing House of Lashes in “Iconic” for this video! ♥️
Help! Buffed the shine off, applied the acetone with cotton balls, then wrapped in foil. It's been over 25 min, the color comes off but the nails, for the most part, are still firmly in place. What could possibly be the issue? Thanks!
@@TreeMa Thank you Tree Ma! :-)
Please tell me the difference between real gel nails and dip gel nails?
Thank you in advance!
I believe this process is for Gel "polish" only@@2zwaantjes
Thank you so much. It really worked. Now I do not have to pay extra for the gel to be removed at the salon. It is expensive enough to get it polished let alone having to pay again to have it removed🥰
yay! I'm so happy to hear that this video was super helpful for you!
You are very beautiful Tree, and your tutorials are very helpful
That’s super awesome I’m going to try this today wish me luck 🍀
How did your nails turn out?
@@TreeMa I have done this, but the gel nail polish wouldn't leave. I tried wrapping it again, but it didn't work. I even filed the nails before and after, but it still didn't work. Any advice?
It is so much harder on long nails on the part that extends beyond your fingertips, espevially doing your own. Any tips for that? Thanks!
G C cut them down first then follow her steps! That’s what I did :)
Try dipping your nail tips in a little container with acetone
And gel polish is the one u cure with uv light right? I'm a total beginner so if anyone could answer it would be a big help! 😅
Joyce Möller yes ! (or LED light)
This was super helpful! Thank you for sharing! :) I have gel acrylics and this looks like a really great way to remove them from home!
Can I just soak them in a bowl of acetone?
This gets hard to do when my nails grow out long. My nails are not paper thin but they're also not thick so it just gets harder to remove the gel from the the tips of my nails without breaking them.
thank you !! it worked perfectly 😁😁
thanks for such helpful tips
I have done this, but the gel nail polish wouldn't leave. I tried wrapping it again, but it didn't work. I even filed the nails before and after, but it still didn't work. Any advice?
Thanks because the struggle is real can it be any nail polish removal
I know my response is late, but acetone polish remover works best.
Is this also working for when you made your gel nails at the salon using UV light?
Your lashes are adorable and look great on you. Please tell us the details about them, whats the name, where you got them :) thank you
mine never comes off properly and it’s so frustrating:( the base coat and even some of the color stays on no matter how much i soak my nails
Samee
Worked perfectly. Thank you
I am soooooo thankful for this video. 💞
I just got my gel nails removed and she did the same thing my mom did it she did nails for 12 years
Hi. I like the method of removing gel polish with the files. I have bio gel & forgot the specific file number you used. You used two different files I noticed?
I only used one nail file with a 180 grit number, any nail file will work, but the lower the number, the better it will work!
Can I use nail polish remover instead of acetone?
Lila Miller nail polish remover is either with or without acetone. You’ll want the one with acetone.
Meghan Anderson ok! Thank you
Worked like a charm
How do you keep your nails strong? Mine are always breaking super brittle
I stopped with gel polish. It ruined my nails. I use normal polish now and my nails are stronger than ever.
Betty for me my nails are naturally frail and weak and I have been using gel and it avoids breakage and splits.
Thank you, your information help me.
lol I just peeled it right off. It worked pretty well but left some white residue and im wondering if I should soak them in smith etc
Exactly what I need! Thank you so much for making this amazing video. I hope this works. Thank you thank you thank you.
Your nails are so pretty! Consider them click bait! 😍
LOL thank you!
I love it, it actually works, thank you so much😄
what can I use instead of Cuticle pusher?
I accidentally peeled off the gel colors, I didn't know it damages the nails. How can I restore damaged nails, and do you have a video of restoring damaged nails? Thank you.
Trim the nails if they are long and always have nail Polish on them so they don't break. Use nail oils every day
You mean the nail polish with color or the ones that are clear.
@@xiahjunsu2 it doesn't matter. Just any regular nail polish to protect the nail
Ohhh thank you!! I appreciate it
I have tips with gel filling they were done by a beauty school student and ive broke 2 already so just want best way to get it off as there is nail glue and uv cured gel as well??
Sacramento?! Ah! It’s so cool watching RUclipsr’s so close to home 😅
Geez quarantine got me searching for myself. I may end up being a pro after this lol
So helpful and easy! Do your nail beds feel tender or sore after doing this? Thanks!
It shouldn't feel tender or sore, if it does feel sore afterwards it means you were too rough during the process. You definitely want to be gentle and let the acetone do the work instead of trying to scrape of the gel polish.
I am nervous getting Gel Nails done for my wedding as I'm not sure how to remove them... but now I've seen your video I feel abit better... x
Olivia Cheng this only works on gel polish and soak of gel not regular had gelnails they need to be filed of
Thank you. Exactly what I was looking for. You're great.
Thank you very much! Very simple and easy to follow.💕
Yay!! I’m so happy to hear that Cathy. 💗💗💗
Awesome video! Can you recommend at at home gel nail polish ?
Thank you!
How smart; thank you so much.
You're welcome!
Thank you so much!!
I’ve been sanding at my nails for 20 minutes now please help
Does this work for LCN gel nails cured under UV light?
what did you do after you removed gel nails. what is maintenance after that? sorry if you already mentioned it. I'm hearing impaired. Thanks
After I removed the gel nails, I just washed my hands, and that's what you see at 2:55. No additional maintenance needed (:
Tree Ma really you should moisturise afterwards.
It worked thanks
Thanks, woke up in the middle of the night worried how to remove gel nail an ended up here. Easy.....
I’m so glad I was able to help. Thank you for watching 🙏🏽

This will also remove my acrylic tips.
Yayyy!! Thank you SO much! You saved me during this quarantine, my nails were all starting to split/chip one by one lmao!
You're so welcome! I'm glad this video is helping since all nail salons are closed right now.
Very Helpful,Thank you.
Thank u for helping me so much!!
Happy to help!
Yes thank you
Very helpful! Thx
Can this method also be done with cornstarch or baby powder dipping?
Yes. Do you do it with regular or gel nail Polish?
My tech usually grinds mine and trims them with the grinder as well… my nails have changed shape the are very curved help
Omg I live near Sacramento!!
Thank you for this! ❤
Thank you so much! You are beautiful!
Awesome ,Thanks for sharing doll.

Thank you for this video. I would have spent money at the nail salon when I could have done it myself.❤
Did it work ? I want to try this technique
just took mine off, thanks!
I got gel nails done and was wondering if I have to do this even if it’s a clear set? I’m so confused! Thank you

Does this technique work just as well if you also have the fake french tips glued on underneath the solar/gel stuff?
Jordyn Ivie mine Is also like that!! I need answers too 😩😩😩

Thanks !! Going to try it
