  • After a riding the bikes for a few weeks, we discovered that our right legs (in particular) were getting really dirty, as the bike throws all of its dirt from the road up through the frame.
    Bad designing perhaps, but we have found a Mudsling sorts the problem out!!
    In this video we fit a MachineArt Mudsling to our bike. (sorry about the wind across the mic! need to get ourselves a muffler!!

    An old one but still valid today. I took the plunge yesterday and picked up my first ever GSA (or even GS for that matter) from Ocean of Plymouth. The test ride was basically the journey home to Nottingham with plenty of sun, a lot of wind and a few spells of rain but some 5 hours later I was still grinning like a Cheshire Cat.
    Keep up the good work as ever. Cheers👍👍

    Agree with everything you say guys, it should come as standard. As I mentioned before, I have fitted this to my GSA (moved it across from my previous GS) and it does the job very well. Cheers, Andy

    Recently bought these for the front (extension) and back (mudsling) from NN for £168 (discount from £199) for my new 1250 GS. Notice all the mud on my legs after the test ride. I thought they would have sorted out this problem fro the new bikes. PS..Video as good as the MachineartMoto version , and he was doing it indoors.

    I've read it cooks your right leg once installed on the GSA LC. Have you found that to be the case at all?

    The ties should be passed through the inside of mudsling,with the buckles on the inside,much neater job than them being visible on the outside of sub frame tubes.

    I was hoping we'd have an "after" shot of his Rukkas too so we'd have some idea how effective or not the mudslinger is. As you point out it's a lot of money for a bit of plastic that's fixed to your 15k bike with cable ties. I've got a hugher on my GS which improves but doesn't stop the dirty right foot so I'd be intetested in any comparison you could do. Maybe a follow on vlog with 1 of you riding with, the other without the mudsling on some appropriatly shitty roads then showing the difference. you could draw straws on who goes naked! It's only 4 cable ties afterall!

      that sounds like a plan to me... i haven't had time to clean my rukka yet as have been riding all weekend, but will definitely do a comparison with and without in a future video. Bike is in for its first service already today, and its sad going into the garage and not seeing it... already getting withdrawals!! :(

    The only thing that should be done differently are the strips. They should be fitted with the open end inside (to the tire) of the mudsling, looks better and rear driver doesn't scratch her/his inner thighs. Cheers.

      Hey Peter, totally agree, for the amount the bike costs, they really should put it on there to begin with... but i guess if they did, we wouldnt be able to fit it and review it.. hehhehe......

  • @CaptainK007
    @CaptainK007 7 лет назад +1

    For all that dosh, why didn't they do a nice bracket to the frame. I have 2015 GSA and the whole bike is like a hippo, slightest bit of poo on the road and it throws it all over itself and me. And yep for the dosh BMW should have sorted that one.

      +Steve Kennett totally agree, it would have been easy to do and relatively cheap to do, and of course would have kept customers cleaner and happier.
