Yes! My first car was a Ford Fairlane 500. It was black with the exterior "dart" detail red. The interior was red roll and tuck upholstery. I bought it for $300 in 1974 from the original owner. It had been meticulously cared for. They had bought a new car and later said they regretted selling it. Side note, my cousin restored a 60's Mustang and went to the car parts place with his Dad. Asked for a Mustang part and they quoted him the price. His Dad interrupted him and asked for the exact same part for a Fairlane. It was way cheaper!! So the parts were interchangeable!
I really like the stories Billy told about his Dad - he sounds like a really interesting man! Painting the engine all different colors - I love it! I imagine he was a wonderful story-teller. Without even seeing your face, your voice gave away which car you were the most excited about. The Ranchero was definitely "you". Such a fun video - all that was missing was Joy and her take on these! Also, thank you for not tasting the oil.
Billy and I at one time had a car restoration shop and we used the "1 Ton" to haul cars. That thing would pull a house off it's blocks if both transmissions were in low gear. What he said about the brakes was true. Once he had to stop quick when a traffic light changed unexpectedly while we were pulling a car on the mentioned gooseneck trailer and had to downshift both transmissions one after the other to help us stop, because the brakes weren't going to make it happen alone. Good times....lol
Wow. I love those two 57s. Amazing cars. And that truck outside is really cool. I was amazed the way his dad built it. I'd love to have seen it run back in the day. So cool.
Love looking at these old cars. My mom had a '57 Ford. It was either a Fairlane or Galaxy, not sure, but it was a beautiful car. Thanks for showing us these memories, Robert. Almost like a time machine.
Really cool! I love all the details - I even understand most of it. I would love to have the Ranchero myself. If Hunt is listening - you can get that up to speed and drive it or haul it right up here to me. 😉Definitely a stark contrast between the 30s and 50s, the engineering of WWII had a lot to do with the rapid change, a forced change. Thank you for such a great tour of these cars and that special "Dad" truck is wonderful. The great memories that surround these is the very best part. Indeed, if they could only talk!! ❣❣👍👍
My dad had 3 1957 Fairlanes when I was growing up…one that he wanted to restore and 2 for parts cars. He ended up selling them when I was a teenager. I’ve always loved them.
Very fun video. Of course, I wanted to see more of the inside details. Not at all surprised the Ranchero was your favorite. It's got that mullet thing going for it that you like. Lot's of fun to be had in it, I'm sure. I like this video because it will be such a treasure for Billy and his brother to have these memories of his dad and the sentiment attached to the cars recorded for posterity even once the cars are sold. His dad sounds fun. It's the best when someone has a passion for something and watching them light up when talking about it. You could feel the passion Billy's dad had for the cars as Billy was talking about it. Especially with the 15 thousand gear truck. It's cool that he can live on in that way through those stories and that you were able to capture it on a video for them. Loved it all!!
Hi Joy!☺️ Glad you tuned in - what a treat! The stories were definitely fun and the histories were exciting. Yeah, I was curious about all of the interiors, too, but at least we saw some. Upholstered seats were in pretty good shape, too. Considering.😉
@@cindys.9688 They sure were! I love interiors in general - like home interiors and home decor and design and I've begun to appreciate the similarities in the classic cars with how thought through they were and all the personally they were designed with. The textures for sure - from the raised leather designs and pipings to the carpeted doors and floors. But also the "fashion" design aspect of them. It's like the seats are wearing suits - I've seen plaids and pinstripes and faux leather and more. It's all super cool to me!
@@semperfi5861 Uh, not exactly. I really can't speak for him, but I it's not hard to see he has a fun side. I think he appreciates the "business in the front, party in the back" versatility of that Ranchero. idk
Cool old cars. The blue Ford looks great. That white, late 70's Ford is awesome truck. Its got that grill stile which is my favorite on those Ford trucks. 👏
My dad was a Ford mechanic so I remember seeing alot of these. I think the Ranchero is probably worth a chunk of change so hopefully the owner does his homework and gets a good price. They're fairly rare especially in that condition. So is the Fairlane. I'm looking for a red and white 66 Ford truck like my dad drove.
My first car I owned was a 62 Fairlane Ford. The car was 8 yrs. old when I got it when I was a senior in high school in 1970. FORD=fix or repair daily.😂
I haven't watched yet but do you KNOW all these cars?? I need vin numbers the works! 😅. That truck is my favorite! Now that I've started the video it's weird how this video starts with the cars being for sale and people are not commenting about what you should do or "how dare the owners!". Weird!!
Wonder if this video was techy enough for all the car club critics. Funny, I don't see ant of them here.... The interior of the blue and white Fairlane supported the story about that the exterior being gray and white originally. The interior was gray and white. Enjoyed this video but didn't understand the technical stuff. That's just me.

I thought that was pretty neat too, Peggy!

I love cars and I'm happy you're still making videos about cars😅

I think that ranchero wants to go home with either one of you two. But that old truck sounded very interesting to drive. I really liked the stories.
I love that Ranchero!!❤
So neat to see them all. Would be amazing to see them up and running!

Such entertaining stories! I love how Billy took us back telling the histories. Gorgeous vehicles. Thanks for taking us along!😊
Love that Ranchero, hardly see them here in NZ either.

Looks like some tasty barn dust on the Ranchero
Sure enough
Love your channel and classic cars
My family had a Green Ford 1957 Fairlane. I remember my mother drove it and I remember her wearing a full skirt.
Wonderful memories. Don't you wish we could bottle them.
Gosh I would love to see all three running. I do love old cars, back when they had style.
Love all of these!
Love classic cars❤
Cool old cars. The blue Ford looks great. That white, late 70's Ford is awesome truck. Its got that grill stile which is my favorite on those Ford trucks. 👏
Love rancheros they were one of the coolest cars ,almost as cool as a 1972 Chevy truck!
Super cool old rides and the stories too, thanks again Robert 😁👍
They would be so beautiful restored.
Very good vid Robert. One of the best cars I have ever owned was a '56 Fairlane. Did like the 57 also. Hope you are able to get to wear the Ranchero.
Great video! And that 57 Ranchero would fit you perfectly; you’d wear it well! 😁
The 31 penny is a pretty cool story... Wish I had the money for the Fairlane.
This is fun history 🚗 😊
Drooling Again Robert? It’s awesome to see these cars, and the stories…but I’m still a ‘57 Chevy fan..
Thank you 😊
Mr.Robert, love the old car episodes.
Anything of tail fins and before.
Oh wow😮😊
My favorite is the 57 Ford!!!
great find💯❤️💯
302 blocks were sweet engine's
Imagine that Ranchero with a complete frame off restoration!
neat video and even interesting.

Yes, grey and white was one of the color combinations for the 57.
I love old cars, Cars that have seen everything, too bad they can't talk😅
Jealous! Those are some fantastic rides!
Vice Grip Garage could get these running!! Derek may even want them.
There would be a story behind that Fairlane that is probably hidden. I'm guessing it was dear to your dad.
Can you imagine?!🤔💭 It must've seen some fun times! Very exciting to think about.😊
I got a 1976 Ford Ranchero in my shop that I inherited from my father and it has the 351m400 engine
Definitely when Ford had some snazzy cars.
My first car I owned was a 62 Fairlane Ford. The car was 8 yrs. old when I got it when I was a senior in high school in 1970. FORD=fix or repair daily.😂
😊❤
Fairlane interior seats looked to be White and grey which would indicate that story about it originally being painted grey and white could be true.
👍👍👍😎☕

Did you think that you had died and went to heaven?
Yes
Why would u ask a question like that of course he did
I never heard of a Ranchero. Guess Chevy stole the idea then.
Yup. El Camino came out two years after the Ranchero.
@@AdventuresIntoHistory I was joking but knowing new info is good. Thank you for the information.
Ford Australia had it first in 1934 😊
Wow…that 1931 penny… how amazing that was! I really do love history…
