So, what's the plan? Is it a flip or a keeper?
Our culture is so geared for "NEW! NEW! NEW!" every five minutes that our way of life doesn't allow for any appreciation of history or anything that's more than a week old.
Many people are so concerned with the bottom line from flipping, or obsessed with modernizing that there is little concern or appreciation for a survivor like this. Boyd Coddington was the poster boy for that mentality.
The only thing a car like this needs is a good cleaning and replacement of the basic items needed to geti it running and reliable. It's an amazing piece of history, and just leaving it alone and allowing it to be a '34 Ford sedan is the way to go.
The kind of butchery and hackery I see being done to these cool old cars breaks my heart.

Bonnie & Clyde famous V8 Ford flathead death car. Clyde’s loved the high performance V8 in which allowed him to outrun that law. The iconic triangle radiator grill shape is pretty easy to recognize.

I found a '34 Fordor in the mid-90's that was in a very similar situation. The last time it was registered was in 1959. The widow of the original owner agreed to let me look at it but due to my age (I was in my 30's at the time) wouldn't sell it to me because she was afraid I'd "hot rod" it. The guy that ended up buying it did just that after promising her that he wouldn't.

I love this too! Noticed a late-model Chevy truck pulling it out of the barn. See? Ford's and Chevy's CAN get along. It's the people (and some animals) that have that problem.

I bet the 350 chevrolet crowd that chops and butcher old beautiful cars like this are
Drooling and " pitching a trouser tent " over this pristine old gal .. wash it upgrade
Brakes and mild performance rebuild on that flatmotor or save it and 40 ford flatmotor
Like I have in my 35 and enjoy i dove my 35 from Dawsonville Georgia to witchata falls
Texas old elcamino hyway us 82 for Thanksgiving this year left 4 days early
Contact many early ford v8 members before trip for emergencies .. no breakdowns
Used plenty of marvel mystery oil added to fuel .. the columbia 2 speed i added
Gave me 23 mpg the smitty mufflers just purred at 60 to 70 most of run temperature
Stayed at 180 whole trip .. and less than 2 quarts of oil whole trip used .. what I'm making
Point about is drive and enjoy a real road trip no 2 miles around block .. I keep Hagerty insurance on all. My cars .. this is great video good luck on restoration keep paint
Original I did on my 35 .. .. keep us posted on progress now im making plans
For Christmas Taking the 50 mercury coupe to West Virginia nothing sounds as sweet
As a flatmotor pulling grade with smitty mufflers second gear .👍

Every time I see a car like this, I feel the same sense of dread. "Oh no, here they come", the soulless philistines with the torches and the Chevy engines and the mustang ll front ends and the tilt columns and the lowering and the flamey paint jobs and the digital dash gauges and everything else that it takes to make another tacky toy. If you find a body and a frame somewhere and that's all that's left, that's one thing, but butchering up a complete survivor that's all there, and restorable is criminal.

@@quagmiredavis4117 it's funny how when I was a kid I was ten thousand percent in favor of the most radical hackery that was humanly possible to inflict on a car. The more radical, the better.
I wanted to see real life versions of big Daddy Roth's stickers manifested on actual cars.
      Then I grew up.
Today my outlook is the people who designed these things were really good at what they did, and at least as far as looks go, I don't think you can improve on the original design. I was really surprised one day when I heard Jay Leno say the same thing. Right now one of my favorite cars on RUclips belongs to Dan at DD speed shop. It's a 66 Biscayne with black steel rims and dog dish caps. It says NASCAR, or maybe moonshiner or possibly undercover detective, but it doesn't scream "Look at me!
Look how flashy and gaudy I am!" It just cruises until it's time to be in a hurry, and then the gas pedal does it's thing, and it skee-daddles in righteous fashion.
That's the way the big kids do it.
