They made a video game out of those old foldovers in the back of MAD Magazine

What brilliant new ideas has the

The same old trash

The all ighty ollar? Oh, I get it
@@Code7Unltd Al Jaffee was genius, bless him
An overheated private removed his flak jacket revealing a t-shirt with an iron-on sporting the Mad slogan, "Up with mini-skirts"
I really appreciate this the bytesized review you do. Its let me to know about cool games I wouldn't know other wise. Thanks
This is a cool concept, for a game mechanic.
relatable. I also have to trudge through swamps when I go to university
That's what you get for going to Ohio.
On paper, it looks like a great game. Even if the story is paper thin, the puzzles look like an intricate origami.
Stop it!
@@DetectiveLance He's just getting started; he can't just fold now.
The great indies just keep coming. Like some others have mentioned, I was also a Gorogoa enjoyer, and this seems similar. It's a really cool looking mechanic.
Feels like Gorogoa crossed with Carto, well I guess this is a must purchase as I loved both of those games...
Fellow Gorogoa enjoyer! I don't understand how there aren't dozens of video essays about that game, the lore and the symbolism are *fascinating*
@@essneyallen6777 Yeah, it's incredibly good! I still remember the first time I played through it, and a lot of times, it felt like I was intuiting the solution to the puzzles. Very cool feeling. But yeah, the worldbuilding and storytelling, all without words or dialogue, is incredible in it.
I was thinking Gorogoa too. That game was pretty neat.
"Despite occasional frustrations and moments where my skills fell short, I never once entertained the thought of quitting." That ended up being me with TUNIC Will.
I love Bytesized for showing me so many games I would probably never heard of otherwise!
I know the team behind this game. I went to their launch party last night. Great group of geeks. :)
If this sounds good, give the lovely A Fold Apart a look at. That games uses the same paper fold mechanic.
Ok, but is the music playing in the background from the game? Because I love it

Fantastic idea, and I love the whole folding aesthetic. Great to see something truly different.
I thought this would be something like Papers, Please.
That's a very reasonable price for a game that looks this good and with such a long gameplay.
How does a hint system count as an accessibility feature? That doesn't make sense to me.
For a second I was super confused why this channel was reviewing a Netflix game until I checked the steam store page and realized it came out in both platforms at the same time.
Been looking for a game like Gorgoa and this seems like it'll scratch that itch!
Awesome! Reminds me of Gorgoa
Looks neat! I've been on a puzzling kick so I'll wishlist this one. I'd be forever grateful if someone could help me place the soundtrack that this is similar to. Thanks for the great review, Will!
If you lot would like a suggestion for a mobile game similar to this one--a perspective puzzler--I would suggest a game called "Monument Valley and its sequel Monument Valley 2. I've never seen a more aesthetically beautiful game before.
This folding mechanic looks identical to A Fold Apart. Is this game made by the same developers?
No, this game is by Newfangled Games and A Fold Apart (2020) was by Lightning Rod Games
Huh, I might actually try that games section that Netflix has.
Not sure about a phone, but it plays really well on a tablet
@@buckysrevenge plays absolutely fine on a phone too :)
Oh wow, that look so refreshing.
Great review 🎉
Oh...wrong paper game...but I appreciate this since it flew under my radar.
Oh this looks really cute though.
Lovely review! Take this comment to help feed the horrible monster that is the youtube algorithm
I thought this came out years ago. I thought I saw someone play it. Maybe they played a demo, but still a cool concept.
Are you thinking of carto?
There's also A Fold Apart (2020) by Lightning Rod Games
Goragoa vibes
Cool
This is probably the Deltarune brainrot talking, but when I saw Paper Trail, I instantly thought of the fancomic by Lynxgriffin. That was a hell of a ride, but the ending was kind of a blue-balling car-crash. It had the energy of "please insert disc 2", but it was actually the end.
I have mixed feelings on that comic, but overall I had a great time with it, even as it ended with me hungry for more.
Nice
Seems like the type of game that I’d love but not enjoy.
If that makes sense?
It looks super well made but just not for me.
I followed the paper trail and ended up in two dimensions. Would NOT recommend 2D but the game seems cool.
