    Hi,master. I'm byeongjun.
    I have a question.
    Is there Vami(5480) page session timeout configuration?

    • @gnancloudgarage
      @gnancloudgarage  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Master,
      Yes, there is a session timeout configuration for the VAMI (vSphere Appliance Management Interface) page, which typically runs on port 5480. To configure the session timeout, you will need to access the appropriate configuration file on the appliance. Here’s how you can do it:
      1. Access the Appliance via SSH:
      - Use an SSH client to connect to your vSphere appliance.
      2. Locate the Configuration File:
      - The session timeout settings are usually located in the `/etc/vmware-vpx/settings.cfg` or a similar configuration file specific to your vSphere version.
      3. Edit the Configuration File:
      - Open the file in a text editor. For example, you can use `vi` or `nano`:
      sudo vi /etc/vmware-vpx/settings.cfg
      4. Modify the Session Timeout Setting:
      - Look for a parameter related to session timeout. It might be labeled something like `session.timeout`.
      - If you find it, you can modify its value (usually specified in minutes). If it’s not there, you might need to add it.
      5. Save the Configuration File:
      - After making the necessary changes, save the file and exit the text editor.
      6. Restart the VAMI Service:
      - Restart the VAMI service to apply the changes. You can do this by running:
      sudo service vami-lighttp restart
      7. Verify the Changes:
      - Access the VAMI page again and verify that the session timeout has been updated.
      If you’re unsure about the exact parameter name or its location, you might want to refer to the official VMware documentation for your specific version of vSphere or contact VMware support for detailed guidance. The exact file paths and parameter names can vary depending on the version and configuration of your vSphere environment.
      Additionally, if the appliance does not expose a direct configuration option for session timeouts, you might need to look into the underlying web server (such as Apache or Nginx) configurations that VAMI uses. Adjusting session timeouts at the web server level could also affect the VAMI interface.

    Hi master, I’m Vamsi.
    I have doubt that, in vCenter we have created a new virtual machine in a Host. Is we need add this to the AD server so that to accessing it directly using IP address.

    • @gnancloudgarage
      @gnancloudgarage  2 года назад +1

      Hi Vamsi,
      Yes, we can access it using an IP address or Hostname.
      RDP (Start > Run > mstsc) for Windows VMs.
      SSH for Linux & Solaris VMs.
      Thank you
