In my opinion, when they put Mani and Buick in the list near the top, something is bad wrong with the qualifications of a good car, based on my personal experience. This is my opinion, so don’t get all upset about it.
In Tesla's case, most "recalls" can be fixed through an "over the air update", so the car does not need to be taken to a service center. (Most recalls are software related.) You just install a software update at home to fix the software issue.
Consumer reports always touted they don’t take money for great reviews but they have for many years. 2019 to current Toyotas have a very high failure rates. They also don’t report all the problems to consumer reports either. I own a 2012 sienna and will never sell it, it’s when they were the most reliable

It's the bean-counter engineering (build cheap, sell for a king's ransom) running rampant throughout the automotive industry. Profits above durability.
THE PROBLEM WITH TOYOTA IS THEY BUILD VEHICLES THAT CANNOT BE FLAT TOWED BEHIND A MOTORHOME THEY DO NOT HAVE THE REAR PUMP FILLED INTO THEM LIKE CARS BACK IN THE 50S AND EARLY 60S AND I DON'T THINK THEY MAKE SOMETHING LIKE A 4 * 4 SPRINTER VAN AND IT WOULD STILL BE THE SAME IF THEY DON'T CHANGE THEIR DAMN TRANSMISSIONS TO BE SO FRAGILE THEY CANNOT BE TOWED AT ALL DAVID ADAM GRENIS CURRENTLY IN HOUSTON TEXAS
All new cars are JUNK!!! Especially trucks. I will keep my 09 Dodge 2500 forever. If it gets in a wreck, I will buy an old square body Dodge with a 12 valve Cumins in it, and just rebuild everything. The new trucks are nanny trucks. I would LOVE to have to manually engage my transfer case. My 09 has a knob that you turn. It has always worked, but what do you do if you are 100 miles from anything and in a mud hole, and the little knob decides NOT to work. My traction aid is hooked to my right leg. The anti lock brake feature is hooked to the same leg. I grew up learning how to drive without any of the nanny controls. Wow, how did I make it to be 77 years old.
I've been a CR subscriber for over 40 years. Their car ratings of reliability are often pure B.S. One example is that they've been Toyota fan boys for decades and will rate any Toyota highly even if it's a junk. Buick is the Chinese brand now. Mini is just another BMW, only smaller. Note that Chrysler was the lowest cost of ownership of all brands at CR last year. That I believe as I currently have 5 Chrysler minivans. We've had experience with Mazdas which will have us never touch another one.
I had a Mazda 3 that literally split apart at the roof welds and leakedu. I had been a faithful Customer, but I sold that sucker and never looked back!

All the Buicks I see that are a few years old have paint issues. Screams cheap.
Not long ago Consumer Reports started evaluating vehicles after 1 year for customer satisfaction. Bad move
I’ve owned an 03 Toyota Avalon since 13. 267,000 miles and still going strong.

Tesla
Which sells more vehicles all else in the USA, and the EU.
So as far as reliability is concerned, I'd guess that isn't the issue...
Ok CR. You completely lost me with the Mini.
Nope. 🙄
While talking about one car brand you show pictures of other brands,WTF?

Mini!???! You're dreaming in technicolour!
been owned by BMW now for awhile
Used to own a Mini. No matter what the service was, it always started at $2000.

No Honda?
Like internet...like you tube....all brainwashing junk out there...distractions that should be illegal
What about Subaru my 2016 Legacy 3.6R is still hanging in there. It cost less to insure then my 2011 VW Golf. Maintenance comparable
I think I’ll keep driving my 2006 Dodge Ram.
Lexus!!👍
Sounds like an ad for Toyota.
Needless Blah-blah -blah.......
they’ve earned it
Mini is not reliable as the BMW/ PSA 4 cylinder engine is a time bomb and is a poor motor with poor durability

Nissan Versa Manual should last 20 years and easy to work on because of time tested older designs.
Sounds like a paid add for Lexus!

Think sabatoge
Just show the chart/graph. This is a poor video with a TON of opinion and verbal diarrhea.
Mini over Honda? Get real!
I disagree
Toyota is now dead with engine and tranny problems.
Either you didn’t watch the video, or you have comprehension problems.
It’s been on tv and it’s also in the media… Toyota is having engine problems and they’re loosing sales to competitors
That statement is transphobic!

Massive sales coming.
