I met Pat Morita in Japan in 1991 at a motorcycle race. I told him that I lived in the Karate Kid apartment building when the movie was filmed in 1984. We shared a few laughs.
That must have been awesome. Can you share any stories from the filming?
4:30 - I lost it right there. Completely lost it and it didn't stop until the video was over. Mr. Miyagi's words had such an impact on my life. Karate Kid led to me taking karate myself at age 12, by age 14 I had my black belt. I'm 41 now. It was one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. Truly one of the greatest characters in the history of cinema. Happy 92nd birthday in heaven, Pat Morita. RIP.

Agreed to me he’s still always been the heart of the show yeah zabkas great but for the most part he’s comic relief making South Park level humour whereas Daniel feels like a real person with his faults and flaws but ultimately a good person trying to do what’s right and help people

In Season 6, it would be cool if Kreese finds respect for Mr Miyagi after learning the specifics of his war record in Germany & both Johnny & Daniel salute & thank Kreese for his service to the country in Vietnam. Would be a good healing moment & a nice sendoff.
At this point, that's all that's left; redemption for Kreese. They've shown enough that he's not outright evil. He genuinely cared about Johnny, and felt he was helping his students by preparing them for a harsh world.
They let Silver become the true villain.

I don't know if I translated it right, my Chinese is a little lacking, but I think rule 1 said "apathetic and without initiative" and rule 2 said "rectify (or "correct" i may be wrong here) your own thoughts first", so i basically means(with karate as syntax) "never start fights" and "firstly correct your way of thinking" or all of it is wrong because Miyagi is Japanese not Chinese. RIP to the sensei of us Gen X, from stand up comic to sensei you are missed

Pretty sure the best sensei is Johnny Lawrence... he learned to relieve himself of worldly desires at a young age.. he was very privileged as a boy... Daniel was the opposite.. now Larruso who had very little as a boy is blinded by materialism.. thyere on the right path tough
Is that why all Johnny’s students got wiped out in the high school fight and his whole dojo got wiped out at the tournament and the only times his students did win was because of dirty tactics. If you’re a teacher and literally all of your students walk out on you….you failed as a teacher
