I’m starting to see post on fb about guys having engine problems with the gen3 800. I was pissed because a couple months after I bought my 2024 gen 2 I heard about the power gains on the new ones. I’m waiting a few years on these new ones. Wait for the kinks to get ironed out. So far my gen 2 knock on wood has no probs just got the 1000 mile service done
Just serviced mine yesterday and actually there are 4 screws holding that inside fender on there if you remove the other two screws that fender will easily come off completely allowing greater access to that oil filter. The other two screws are located towards the front. See the owners manual for illustration
Yes. Just 4 screws holding it on. We didn’t need to remove the whole thing for this video.
Looks like a nice machine. I own a 2022 outlander xmr. Servicing the machine is not fun. Especially the transmission. The foot well has to come off. The oil service is doable without removing the foot board but is still a pain . Your machine looks much easier to service. All machines have their quirks I guess.
Being similar to canams again , as the G2 canams you have to remove the same splash shield to remove oil filter , you can sneak the bolts out the cover without doing it , but makes it a lot easier to get the cover and filter out , removing the splash shield ,
Can say cf motos trans dip stick is in the better place and drain plug , on canam g2 atves the trans check plug and drain plug is a pain to get to and remove ,
I love the color on that 😊☮️
It’s different for sure.
It’s only 4 screws to get to the oil filter so that’s not as bad as it could be
No one has mentioned it yet, but that engine looks intently like a rotax twin v2 from can am. Only without rotax logo on it. Totally the same.
Similar. Just like the other twin engines. Similar. Some parts such as the cams fit.
@@R.N.GPerformance I was just about to comment same thing. CFMOTO has many similarities to the the Can Ams.
I'm still waiting for these new units to arrive in Canada so I can see one . They're not even on the website yet.
I wish they would follow can ams lead and make it easy to take off all the side panels for service
Agreed 💯 💯
The 1000 g3 s oilfilter is easier to reach, because it is right under that cover where you find the oil measures, isn‘t it?
No. It’s in the same exact spot as seen here.
Looks pretty easy to service, a bit more pain in the ass taking that fender plastic to get to the oil filter but It's still way better than a service on an outlander. I have a question, can I put 75w90 in the differentials instead of 80w90? Here in Europe the 75w90 oils are full synthetic where as the 80w90 are only mineral, or I have seen some put 75w140. What would you recommend, cheers!
You could. We personally don’t.
Does it seem like the battery will get hot right over the exhaust?
In house trans scares me. Will be curious how it holds up
I do agree 👍
The more you dive into this the more im not liking it.. specifically the damn oil filter i like my 22 cfmoto 800xc where my filter is located..i only got like 300 miles on it.. not getting rid of her any time soon.. i feel like with that motor covered more then my 2022 i would think that engine would get hotter in that area...
I’m not too thrilled with this unit. But I still have allot of driving to do before I send my final thoughts.
Please help me find out the reason for the oil coming out of the differential through the evaporator vent
Extend the vent make it longer it will stop
@@R.N.GPerformance I extended the evaporation outlet and this solution did not work 🥹
I have a cf motto z force 800 they told me the engine is blocked , idk how if you could explain what it could probably be?
Idk
I got the overland should I keep it or get the gen 3
Keep it
Thanks cause it’s been weighing on me
My gen2 800 is very jerky, did they improve that with the gen 3? Can not feather it especially in reverse.
Not really. It’s smooth but can be better. We can make your gen 2 smooth very smooth www.rngperformance.net
@@R.N.GPerformance going to have to check it out! Thanks!
How hot does that seat get, got rid of my 24 Overland cause I couldn't turn off the seat heater.
We’re going to have a video on that very soon. I’ll get out my FLIR also
Could've just taken the plastics off and apply more heatshield to them and to wrap the exhaust itself rather then selling it over a small thing like that
