- Tommy "The Duke" Morrison (34-1, 30 KO's) vs. Carl "The Truth" Williams (26-5, 20 KO's) in a heavyweight bout scheduled for 10 rounds at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nevada. January 16th, 1993.
Tommy Morrison was a helluva fighter. One of the hardest punchers in history. He didn't always put his all into training. I don't think he had the best chin in boxing, however. Terrific kid. Terrific fighter. Rest in peace Tommy. See you soon in Heaven.

@@victorevans6845 He did have a heavyweight title for a short while along with a 48-3-1 Pro record which is great considering he had to stop boxing at age 27, though he did fight for 2 more "wins" in 2007/8 at age 38/39(with pec implants and all)..

My gosh, I just love Morrison!! That left hook was amazing! I wish he didn't destroyed himself, he would've been undefeated. RIP Morrison and Williams too.

One of my all-time favorite weapons was Morrison's counter left hook thrown over an opponent's right uppercut. He was the best at it. Great timing, speed, power, and accuracy with that punch.

BOTH THESE GUYS WERE VERY GOOD CONTENDERS. WILLIAMS A BOXER, MORRISON A PUNCHER. BUT WHAT KEPT THEM FROM THE ELITE LEVEL WERE VERY SHAKY CHINS. BUT THEY ALWAYS PRODUCED GOOD FIGHTS FOR THE FANS. THIS FIGHT BETWEEN THEM IS STILL GREAT TO WATCH. GOOD ACTION AND DRAMA THROUGHOUT. HAVING WATCHED SO MANY OF THEIR BOUTS YEARS AGO, I FEEL REALLY BAD THAT CARL AND TOMMY PASSED IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. R.I.P. GUYS. YOU HAD GOOD CAREERS AND WERE GREAT TO WATCH.

Man if Tommy wouldve took his training more seriously and stayed outta the bar with his party lifestyle and put those hours in at the gym working on his horrible cardio, there's no telling how Great Tommy could've been! He definitely had the skill with speed, footwork & one hell of a Emergency Room left hook!

I don't know why fighters agree to have mills as referee he pulls your arm down during the clinch, this is dangerous and effectively makes it a two on one fight for a moment

Williams was starting to open up at close range but maybe was too close to see Tommy’s shot coming over the top for the first knockdown. More of an unexpected thing always the one u don’t see coming.

lol I just found out this guy was an actual boxer, only knew him from the acting role in Rocky V before. Also weird mystery how he tested positive for HIV twice, and hten 10 years later was cleared. Now they say he wants to come back and fight Klitschko!

What was the testing/wellness policies back then? I remember Mercer saying Tommy was on the juice in their fight. How did he get away with it if true?
@bill Johnson Aye but Tommy was gassed after the third round, he really starts to lean on Mercer. Im a Tommy fan but I dont know if it was steroids or what with Tommy but he "blew up" a bit too easy.
