    As a teacher and a mother, I cannot express how much appreciation I have for the way you answered @yesno8829's question. So many of our young adults have been thrown into a world without being properly prepared. I learned that very quickly with my own children (26, 24, and 13). I commend those who can inform others without criticism and judgement. You've gained a very supportive follower! Great job and thank you for being a positive part of this community!

      I appreciate your kind words. Jason and I discuss all the time how there are so many young people that are just starting out in life and maybe don’t have anyone to ask these types of questions.
      I was young when I moved out, only 17, and I had no idea what I was doing. I learned everything the hard way. If I can help a few young ones out there and give them some answers, I’m happy to do it! 💛

    I have a really bad spending habit at Amazon, so what’s worked is I budget for it and then I use the money to buy Amazon gift cards at a local store, and use that as payment instead of my credit cards.

    I just found your channel a few days ago, and I’m super excited to begin my journey to be on a budget. I tried last year to begin cash stuffing, and life happened, so I wasn’t motivated to do so. I am a divorced mother of four, my 4 daughters are all grown, and only one lives with me. So I’m on a single budget and I’m not gonna lie. It’s been tough. But I know with a little patience and if I follow a budget. I will begin to see some savings. Thank you for all your explaining, and motivation for those of us new to this method. Thank you also for the printables 😊

      I was pushed into budgeting last month because my husband’s job was making changes so he retired in November. I went through all of our bills and got rid of so much we didn’t need! Our house is total electric so I put it on the budget plan so that we didn’t get hit with crazy high bills this winter. I started meal planning too because we used to spend WAY TOO MUCH on eating out. Just with these few changes, I feel so much better about our finances. Budgeting your money is definitely the key. I only wish I would’ve done this years ago.

    For the last question: thank you, Jen, for being respektful in your answer - lots of people are not learning these skills at home (what is denominations, when can I use my card etc). You did not patronize them or make fun - you could make a ‘moving away from home, what do you need to know about money, budget, bills’-video 😊

    • @2SisterBees
      @2SisterBees  Год назад +8

      Yes, exactly. We are not taught anything in school and the younger kids have never been inside a bank or handed a paper check. They have legitimate questions and I don’t blame them. It’s definitely things that get overlooked when we do cash stuffing, budgeting and all the things. I like your idea for a video- I think a lot of people would benefit from that.

    Thanks to your tips, I was able to budget a $1000 truck repair bill and $3334 car rental bill after my husband had a small fender bender. We even had an extra $400 buffer. I'm starting all over again but it feels great to have had that money when needed.

    Hello Sis. Fantastic video !! So much wonderful information. I tend to take the cash for Amazon and buy a gift card, and load it to my account. Sometimes, if you load a certain amount, Amazon will give you extra. I put $50 gift card on my account from Christmas, and they added an extra $10 😊
    I hope everyone is doing well ❤

    LET ME JUST SAY!!! That I am 1000% new to this channel and cash stuffing, the biggest thing I noticed she’s doing that some others don’t is BREAKING everything down step by step, while using visual learning to explain why and how and where… 7:19… im not that far in the video and I already appreciate and respect so much all ready, this is what I needed because I was starting to feel defeated about getting into cash stuffing not knowing how to break anything down, thank you ❤❤

    Great Video as always. I got $9 for Hello Honey 🍯 for anyone who is new to this process… in 2023 I was able to finish paying off my student loans AND my car… I also cash funded 2 classes towards my Masters, Christmas and new tires! I also saved up enough to buy my daughter her first car!!! This process definitely works. My car maintenance fund is always depleted as soon as I put money in. Most times my repairs are more than what I have in the envelope. Luckily I have other savings that I use when this happens. Cutting back on spending allows me to save to bridge that gap.

    I just found your channel and have been watching some videos to get some tips on how to get started. I'm a single mom so every penny counts but I still struggle with extra spending here and there, especially with a 16-year-old daughter. I've already calculated my debt at a little over 3k so I feel like now is the time to go full force on my debt before my youngest goes to college. I'm hoping to start in February and once I feel comfortable enough in what I'm doing I plan to help my newly engaged 23-year-old daughter get started. Fingers crossed. I love your bee binder! Is that something you have sold in the past but no longer available? My older daughter loves everything Bee's and I thought that would be a cute budget binder to gift her for her savings journey.

    Hi! Your videos are so helpful ☺️ My hubby and I watched your cash stuffing explained together and that boosted us to get started!
    I did have a question: I see many cash stuffers who have wallets with several categories such as: miscellaneous, shopping, buffer, coffee, etc. My question is: As a newbie, should we incorporate these categories into our budget (spending money, coffee, etc) or focus solely on paying off debts and filling our long sinking funds? I guess I'm feeling guilty for allowing myself an Amazon and a coffee budget when I could put that money towards a debt. 😢

    • @2SisterBees
      @2SisterBees  Год назад +2

      Hi there! 👋
      If your goal is to truly be debt free- I would focus on that and cut out ALL extra spending. Anything that is “extra” - get rid of it for now. It is a temporary sacrifice for a permanent win!
      Debt is stealing your joy.
      Make those small changes of brewing your own coffee, packing your lunches, meal planning- and watch how much extra adds up to pay debt!
      I have been working on a wallet set up for myself but it will be for my necessities.
      I am thinking mine will be - groceries, gas, household, coins and then an empty one to hold any $ that I am taking with me for appointments.
      Have you thought about a No Spend challenge? That’s a great way to jump start your savings AND see where you are spending currently.
      Check out this playlist when you have time, I have videos on No Spend, organizing your home and selling items, how to have you and partner on same page, how I paid off debt- so many things.

    Once again, I had to redo my 2024 budget for the elevendyseventyseventh time. Some of my grandchildren, 5 of them, I purchase gifts off of Amazon for their birthdays. The other 2 are teenagers and I give them cash for their birthdays. I have made a separate envelope in my holiday binder for a cash birthday stuffing for the 2 teenagers. Then I made a separate entry in my checking account for the other 5 birthdays that I will buy off of Amazon. My checking account gives me 10 sub accounts plus a Christmas club sub account so it makes it really easy for things I have to do long-term stuffing for that I know are going to only come out of the checking account. I just thought I'd mention this after I saw your birthday binder. Happy New Year!

    The cash that is stuffed is from is left over money from the sinking funds since you set the budget, spent within it, and came out with a little left over? Then that cash builds up overtime and that’s why your envelopes are full of money?

    I’m still confused sorry so I am a beginner- where in my budget does the cash challenge money come from? And if I’m supposed to allocate all money into every category for zero balance how do I keep my bank without a zero balance and how do I make a little cushion in my bank for things that I might forget or a small amount change in a bill?

    • @makeanddohandmade
      @makeanddohandmade Год назад +5

      I don’t budget for challenges, if I have cash left in an envelope in the end of a pay period I might roll
      It over and I might put it in a small savings challenge. Right now I’m saving for Easter for our family with my extra money. As for your other question, create budget categories and include a miscellaneous category. Sometimes the small transactions fall in there. But the more you budget and get into close relationship with your money you will have less and less small weird misc purchases, every transaction will have a home 💗

    • @mrachel3
      @mrachel3 Год назад +4

      I think that most cash stuffers don’t withdraw their entire paycheck amount, but leave some in the bank as a buffer. I’ve also seen cash ‘unstuffing’ videos where if the expense was $27, they will take $30 out of the envelope to deposit in the bank and that extra $3 becomes part of the buffer. I also think some people actually pay for things with a credit card so spending the money doesn’t deplete their checking account and there is time between making the purchase and paying on the credit card.

    If your paycheck (without overtime) is a wash with your fixed monthly bills, can the whole amount stay in the account for automatic payments? And, when you get paid overtime just budget for that amount of money? Would this work like your system? Just curious because my friend is in this situation and doesn’t budget for the overtime money and won’t go to the bank each week when it’s payday

  • @atorifize

    How would you start if you get paid biweekly or monthly. My other half is biweekly and I get paid monthly

    • @2SisterBees
      @2SisterBees  Год назад +1

      I would start with your budget setup so you know what you have (after every thing is paid )for savings.
      I have a budget video here :
      ruclips.net/video/M7ucIl9MGs0/видео.htmlsi=ZpNCnUikYJgDsKha
      And my suggestion is to do a budget the day a paycheck hits. Whether it’s partners’s biweekly or your monthly. Give every dollar a job as soon as you receive it on your budget sheet.
      So you would do 3 a month.
      1 for you and 2 for partner.

      Things are definitely changing for me in 2024 now that the debt is gone.
      We are now investing for retirement, have IRA accounts, 529 plan for granddaughter, money in HY and just spoke to financial advisor about money market, as well. Life insurance is about to get boosted, too.
      Money definitely needs to start working FOR you once the debt is gone and I am happy to say- that we are finally there.
      I want anyone who watches 2SB to get out of all debt so that they can begin investing in themselves.

    I just found your channel and I'm really enjoying your videos! I am confused about one thing, and have a question. I assume that the money that you have to play the saving games is whatever you have extra (after paying bills and stuffing cash envelopes), correct? Do you just keep playing games until all of that money is gone or does it go towards something else? I hope this question makes sense. If you've explained this in another video, I apologize. I have watches several so far, but haven't found the answer. Thank you so much for your fun and informative videos!

    • @2SisterBees
      @2SisterBees  Год назад +1

      Hi there! Yes, I do a budget every pay period and I have an exact amount set aside just for savings challenges. Of course, that money can just go into a savings account but savings challenges have been much more motivating for me to stick with it.
      So, say I have $200 set aside- I just keep playing until it’s gone. I have recently limited myself to a few games to complete faster so I don’t have so much spread out over too many games.
      I still need to get myself organized on some things and you guys will see me do that as I do each video.
      Saving is a process! 😅
