Are YETI Coolers Worth the Money? - Yeti 65 Review

- After over three years of owning a Yeti 65 cooler I think that Yeti coolers are indeed worth the money. Yes, despite all the hype I think they live up to their reputation for being the best. If you are the kind of user that needs ice to last the longest in a bomb-proof cooler, then a Yeti might be the right cooler for you. On the other hand, if all of your outings don't last more than an afternoon, perhaps put that extra money towards gas and good times.

Do you think putting stickers on the cooler was a good or bad idea? I change my mind almost every time I look at it.
It gives it character and shows that it’s yours
Lol greatest comment on this video
better stickers on your cooler than your car
It's your ice chest do whatever you want .
Good
ah a man of culture that BCM sticker right there.
Love my 45 Tundra. Road trips, camping , fishing trips, tailgating, bbq’s, etc. It’s part of the family at this point. I have a lot of good memories with my Yeti.
Love the sound of the wind in the pine trees in the background. May be my favorite sound in the world. It's like a softer steadier version of the sound of ocean surf.
Agreed
I don't have a Yeti but my coolers all have a few stickers. Stickers give those coolers character!
cool vid man, thanks!
Good video hopefully we’ll see more content.
Thankyou!
Great video I’m buying one
Thank you sir, you won’t regret it!
I have all the soft shell Yeti coolers & I love them.
Nice!
Nice review. Thanks. I had eyed a 45 for the past 6 months. Trying to find the retired Ice Blue color to be exact. Patiently I waited and looked at all the online listings. Well an Ice Blue 65 popped up yesterday and I just couldn't pass it up. I have yet to use it, but I hope it's not going to be too unmanageable. I guess my son could always help me carry it if need be :-) I have an 18 Hopper but I still may get a 45 down the road if I find a really good deal on one. But this 65 might just be my once in a lifetime cooler.
Congrats on the new cooler! The ice blue ones look pretty slick.
@@OnDirt Thanks!
Where’d you find an ice blue if you don’t mind?
Nice stickers!
They were expertly curated.
You can buy a mini fridge and a 12 volt power inverter for 100 bucks if you're going on a road trip.
Nice!
Thank you!
The more stickers, the better. Especially if they’re crossed sabers.
Scouts out
Good job, Jersey boy!
Thank you
what exit??? We're exit 4!
@@caroldolan1485 Same!
Worth it? Maybe.
Just cracked open an ice cold drink I pulled out of mine - it’s been in my truck bed since Saturday night after it sat outside under the sun all Saturday.
Kept food cold over a 3 day camp and 2-3 days afterward. Honestly lost track.
Good? Yes. Worth it? Maybe.
Agreed!
How is it holding up? Have you experienced has your lid warped?
Mines held up great. No warping or issues. I don’t leave it out in direct sun 24-7 though.
@OnDirt good to know thank you brother!
Some of the cheaper Colemans (the Cubes) come close to keeping things frozen as long as my 65L Yeti, but I'm in bear country (Griz and Black) and when locked the Yeti is a bear safe cooler. That alone is worth the extra $$ for me, I see too many tourons' coolers with a bear eating out of it in the Rockies and Pacific Crest.
Use your imagination and I'm sure you could find some way to keep cheap cooler shut. If you have the extra disposable income whatever, I guess, but these things are just extremely well marketed, and the markup you pay for marginal performance increases is outrageous.
@@d-rockanomaly9243 That's naive, bear rated cannisters are more than "keepting it shut". Tourons be tourons
Spent 40 on a nice cooler, installed a high grade temp gasket... Only cost an extra 30....
Nice!
Yee Yee - just bought mine today
Congrats!
do you like it? is it worth it?
im thinking of buying one but not sure if that $300 tag is worth it
@@kozmicflush980 Yeah I love it. It's bombproof. I just took a trip to Moab and it kept ice for 7 days.
Congrats bro. I love how getting a yeti is just like announcing your having a baby
Just got a Tundra 45 and the top warped within 3 weeks in average Florida heat. It’s crap.
Yeti is more of a status symbol.
I love them mad they work great for what they are. I would never use anything else but if you can’t wast 500 for. Cooler then they are not for you
Fair point for sure, there are plenty of cheaper rotomolded coolers out there as alternatives as well for folks.
Or do what I like to do. I hunt MarketPlace and never pay retail. I am patient and it pays off. I have never paid more than half the retail of a Yeti, Orca, Grizzly, etc. Those coolers last forever so not worried about the warranty.
@@OnDirt In my opinion Grizzly, Kenai, Cordova offer the best values and they have sales throughout the year where Yeti does not.
There’s a reason everyone copies Yeti. Buy the best once in the long run it’s the best value…and always buy a white cooler .
You don’t work for Yetti by any chance ?
No I do not.
Just won that cooler for 20 bucks 😎
Congrats!
Just bought one... have it in my house with 10lbs. of ice and 12 beers for a test.... now 48hrs. later all melted? WTF?
Did you pack the cooler full and leave the lid closed?
Overpriced average cooler
Pre-cool for a few hours with a sacrificial frozen jug of ice before you fill it.
Cut it open it’ll be an awesome video
Lol, where can I keep my beers then?
Ok
Who cares if it’s a status symbol? So are cowboy boots, watches, cologne, trucks….work hard and own nice things if you want. If you are fine being mediocre by all means buy a timex, wear Dan post, rock an igloo, and buy a 2wd Truck. It’s funny how tore up guys get over this stuff. A $400 cooler that last years I cheap….we spent that per meal at Disney last week.
No
Does anyone have buyers remorse? 🤣
It’s not the price of a few cheap coolers bro lol it’s like 10 times the price of a cheap cooler. Great cooler just expensive
We have used a Coleman Extreme cooler for countless camping/road trips and picnics for the last 20 years. For short term (3 days or less), the cheap Coleman is fine. It's lighter and you get more internal space for how big it is. For picnics it's ideal since it will get opened a gazillion times anyways. BUT, for longer than three days in hot weather, it just won't keep ice or food/drinks really cold. It becomes a sea of coolish water with 3/4 melted plastic ice bags, sloshing everything around that's floating in it. It has no Dry Goods basket or divider to separate zones so when you pull out a gallon of milk, the ice fills in the hole and makes the gallon jug harder to stuff back in. The hinge and latch (what latch?) on the Coleman are garbage.
NO
It doubles as a table? Give me a break this is like a Mad TV sketch LOL. You can't use a Coleman as a table? Why the fuck not? It's a rectangular box dude I could step on my $20 Coleman cooler and it won't break. It doubles as a step so does any fucking solid object
No they aren't. Extreme diminishing returns. Extreme markup. Very little value for your money. $50 cooler will give you 80% of the performance of this thing.
The extra 20% will always cost way more. That’s with anything.
You’ll go through 4/5 $50 coolers through one lifetime of a yeti easy! Convenience and less is better at times.
