@Fries Very True. Sadly Andrew Luck wasn't able to get that protection in the early part of his career when it was necessary and it destroyed his career.
@Fries And yes Later Round Lineman could be good but it is wiser to pick the First or 2nd Round Offensive Linemen. The biggest problem was the Colts not getting any Offensive Linemen in Free Agency or going after them in the draft outside the later rounds. Andrew Luck was a generational talent but due to his team not supplying him with an offensive line(or atleast trying to outside the later rounds) it ruined him. But yes by the time Ryan Kelly got to Indianapolis, Luck had been injured. It didn't help that after his first season, his Offensive Coordinator/Interim Coach left for the Cardinals, that OC was Bruce Arians who would revitalize Carson Palmer's Career and helped the Steelers win ironically against the Cardinals.
I will always remember Cam Newton's rookie season because that was the first season I started watching football. Watching him play that year, and in his MVP season was something truly special.
@@avacadomangobanana2588 so if I’ve liked the ravens since week 8 of the 2009 season when they beat the Broncos does that mean I’m a life long ravens fan?
The craziest stat in this whole video isn’t even about any rookie. When it’s the receiving touchdowns in a season you see 2nd most is jerry rice with 22…in 12 games
Odell Beckham's rookie season prorated over 16 games would have been by far the best season ever by a receiver. The man was *Averaging* 2 TDs and 150 yards over the final 8 games
Mike Evans is leaps and bounds better than he is. Since he was drafted he’s had 7 straight 1000 yard seasons. Only one other wide receiver has ever done that in history. OBJ was good for that one crazy catch. But when he’s not getting his butt kicked by the kickers net, he was struggling to get open one on one
Odell was a monster, but sooner or later, everybody knew his diva persona was gonna catch up to him. Dude put up some crazy numbers with an Eli Manning that was on his way out of the league. Imagine if Green Bay or New England was able to draft him. He very well could've surpassed Moss's TD record.
I went to high school with Braden Smith (T) who got drafted by the colts in the second round of the same draft as Nelson, and Braden is *really* good but he will just always be overshadowed
dumb Cowboys benched Elliott week 16, while he already had 80 yards on 12 carries, and they didn't play Elliott the next week at all. 1631 yards and 15 tds and 363 yards receiving and a td. Would have been interesting to see what his stats would have been if he played the rest of week 16, and played the final week. But they wanted to inflate dink and dunks passing stats vs a garbage Detroit instead of letting Elliott break the rookie rushing record and nfl first down record.
Honestly what always impressed me the most about Eric Dickerson besides his blazing speed was his ability to change direction at his size. He was so smooth in everything he did even in those ridiculously huge uni’s they wore back then. He’s like watching a deer run full speed through a forest at night.
I can't believe you missed Zack Martin, also has a case as the greatest Rookie Lineman ever, as a Rookie he got also 1st Team All Pro, which was the first time that happened was 1947, and he also got ROTY votes. He basically laid the groundwork for Nelson.

I've never seen another rookie wide reciever have such an impact on a team like Randy Moss did his rookie year ... It was such a treat to watch as a teenager
Ditka's rookie year is so unbelievable. Pitts may end up with more yards in 3 extra games, but the touchdowns are not even close. And to do this in 61 when the league was passing far less? Incredible.

Great video and excellent content. I would like to point out something about Randy’s single season TD mark of 23. While it’s the top in the single season rankings it doesn’t compare to Jerry Rice’s of 22 in 1987. That year Rice played in 12 games due to the Owner lockout and Player strike. Based on his average of 1.83 per game, he could have likely gotten near 30 touchdowns but certainly would have exceeded the mark of 23 that Moss set in the pass first offenses of the 21st century. Moss also had 93 catches hence a heck of more targets than Rice’s 65 catches in 1987. Perspective is always important when comparing records.
That is a tough one because there has been so many. Earl Campbell, Lawrence Taylor, George Rogers, Randy Miss, Micah Parsons,Deion Sanders, Everton Walls, and Dan Marino are the guys who dominated in their rookie seasons. I added defensive players because they just cannot be ignored.

Aaron Hernandez’s career will always be overshadowed by his off-field issues and by the success of his teammate Gronk, but he was a truly special TE in his own right. Some would even say that he had the mentality of an absolute killer
Adrian Peterson couldve had a ED like rookie season, but after having almost 300 yards rushing against the Chargers, more then 1000 yards in 8 games, he missed 2 games and the other games they barely gave him 12 attempts per game. Also Edgerrin James better be in part 2. Dude had 2000 yards for scrimmage and 18 tds. Him and Moss easily the best rookie seasons ever.
Devin Hester is my choice. I was thinking hard about Herbert, broke just about every rookie QB record. But Hester did something that hasn't been done by any player, all in his rookie year.
Hester definitely added a dimension that put that Bears team over the edge. We will probably never see what Hester did ever again with rule changes making returners far less impactful then in years past, which will only add to his mystique.
