For one, self checkouts never eliminated cashiers or jobs, they shifted the jobs around. Second, self checkouts are growing and being used more. The largest grocery store chain in my area just made every single register self checkout capable. Now each lane can be either manned or self, it's fantastic. Most importantly, these are very secure. The doors into the airport don't open if there's something detected.

You forgot to mention the earth was flat and chocolate milk comes from brown cows... the body scanners give you a 0.1 microsievert dose of radiation, a standard medical xray is 100+. In a 6hr flight you're exposed to about 12 microsieverts FYI.
Let's simplify this for you. A "high" dose of radiation is 50 rem. There are 0.00001 rem per scan in an airport scanner. That means in order to as you say get an "extreme" dose, you have to get scanned 500,000 times.
If you get scanned at an airport twice a day every single day of the year starting at birth, you would have to live to be 685yrs old in order for these machines to give you a "high" dose. You'll be fine
