Was that Thomas guy at 5:56 taking about goals or reality? Shows safety of the community? Seriously??? Running stop signs, running red lights, speeding through bike lanes at 40+, knocking into cyclists, going against traffic? This makes the community look terrible to the public. The goal of sharing a common interest is great, but these group rides tend to make people show off, do more risky things than they normally would do and there’s a heard mentality. People are doing illegal things as a group knowing they won’t get caught as an individual. This is hurting the PEV community and if you guys keep riding like this, the regulators will start to come down on us and it’ll ruin it for everyone. You guys need to take a play from ALC, 2,200 cyclists riding in unison following every law and super well respected.
Calling this safe when multiple people are riding reckless is weird. Have 20 people riding reckless through traffic is not "safer" than riding solo. I need that explained.
I noticed this too. Super annoying to watch. They claim safety in numbers. Then ride like idiots. Down the center lane, cutting each other off, swimming through traffic. . .
