    I was out riding my 16x on Mare Island last week on the old military golf course, which has paved trails throughout the rolling hills (albeit overgrown with weeds). Nice views from the top of the bridge in Crockett. I'll need to go find those trails soon. The Ferry from Vallejo to San Francisco gives great access to the area and I've been looking for destination rides off public transit. Thanks for the ride along. There's a trail ride from Wildcat Canyon (Richmnd/El Sobrante) to Berkeley through Tilden Nature Area that would be good for the ex30. And, although I haven't ridden there yet, the American Canyon area is rich with horse trails.

    First! Nice to see another video as the first EX30 one introduced me to this channel. The EX30 is a beast.

      Hell yeah! It can do everything except large jumps…but I don’t plan on doing that anyway. Thanks for watching!

    That was an awesome and beautiful review. Love the spot you chose where there were planes in the background. 👍👍

    Hey I saw you were wearing XERO barefoot shoes in some of the clips, how did you find them for riding? I wear Xero daily, but havent tried while riding

    • @riandowright3542

      I love these shoes for short rides. I own three pairs for running and hiking, but found my feet started to hurt during long standing rides on the EUC. If you can deal with the pressures points on your feet these allow you to feel exactly what’s going on with your EUC. They are very communicative. (to be honest, I got bad feet from wearing poor quality dress shoes when I use to sell cars standing for 12hr days). The only reason I stopped wearing Xero when riding was due to the lack of toe protection. I fell once, when a car clipped me and hit my toe on the concrete. Just strained not broken. At that point I knew I needed more protective shoes. Now I rock the TCX motorcycle shoes. There Like vans with protection.

    I'm a cruiser so I love riding in the street. I went from my OG sherman to EX30, I love It! oh lastest firmware omg!

      Latest firmware is great. I need to try the race, no dip version. If it performs like I think this would be almost perfect.

      Bro you gonna Luv it. The stock pads are usable on the street. I somehow got my top speeds with those pads. Bur they are no good for the dirt. Without your feet being locked in, they are horrible off road.

  • @PepperandCaseysRV
    @PepperandCaseysRV Год назад +1

    considering it gets rocks stuck between the wheel/motor and the stanction leg, it's not for off road.

      this is in relation to fire trails and logging roads which are typically covered by gravel

    I ride my ex30 all the time 50/50 trails/ street (often both in the same ride).. most versatile wheel going..I ride fire trails and single track often.. no clearance issues at all.. it's great offroad as much as street.. I'm only getting the Extreme for the most technical trails as it will be more agile with even more torque

    • @riandowright3542
      @riandowright3542 Год назад

      I agree, for most trails the ex30 is all you need. But yesterday I was on a new trail that went from level 4 to level 10 quickly. The tallest rocks sticking out of the dirt were even marked orange at the top by the regional park district. The orange paint gave good markers as to what to avoid, but eventually I had to walk. It just got too knarley. This is where the Extreme would shine. I believe Extreme and the EX30 would be the perfect stable of EUC. Thanks for watching the video.

    • @justinspirational
      @justinspirational Год назад +1

      @riandowright3542 yes.. that trail sounds like it would challenge any euc but the extreme or a master would surely fare better.. won't need another wheel once I get the extreme as the ex30 and extreme will cover just about all my riding needs though long range rides that often include both trails and street or even mostly fire trails I'll probably still use the ex30 for the range.. if there was another wheel I'd get it would be the master pro for very long range street only rides but rarely do that and when I do I just take the ex30 and my fast charger to extend the range charging at a place en route

    I lifted the battery packs on my EX30 for better trail clearance and higher center of gravity, but even with that, it isn't a good trail wheel. It can navigate a trail alright enough, but the technical stuff really shows where the weight limitations are. I attempted one black diamond trail on the thing and I was absolutely wasted maybe halfway down the track. It's just too heavy and too cumbersome to maneuver around rocks. The ergonomics also leave a lot to be desired. If it were me, I'd say the commander pro is the better all around wheel, but the EX30 (especially with a street tire) is the road king.

    • @riandowright3542
      @riandowright3542 Год назад

      The EX30 is the street King……unfortunately I’ve never rode the commander pro, but consensus from forum that I’ve been on seem to agree with you. I saw a guys at Alien Ride store front with a commander pro and i moved it around by the handle. It did seem more compact with a higher battery clearance then the EX30. Regarding trial riding on the EX30 my legs were burning after my off road excursions and I didn’t do any black Diamond trails, so I could only imagine what your legs felt like. Thanks for watching and for your input.

    Nice riding! How is it on residential streets? Is it capable of tight cornering in neighborhoods?

    • @riandowright3542
      @riandowright3542 Год назад

      Absolutely you can use this thing on residential streets. That’s actually most of my riding. Now of course, with a street tire, it would be a dream on tight corners, but even with the knobby you can keep a good flow going. Now I believe you have an option for a street tire at purchase. I didn’t have that when I ordered. If most id your ridding is street, get it with a street tire.

    Just got my EX30 last week & already broke the trolley handle, nothing major to prevent me from riding. Coming from the v11 I have to get use to the weight but thus far I love the beast as is but still thinking about purchasing either the Grizzly or Clark kit.. I did experience my first death wobble (it occurred while I was near traffic), didn't scare me so bad to stop riding but I'm most definitely will not attempt pushing it near traffic till I learn & master some techniques to handle unexpected wobbles.
    I've seen some of the more advanced riders who ride way faster than I ever will get 60+ miles under hard riding, I'm thinking I should easily get a 100, or rather never run out of juice, being I'm a 25 to 30mph on average rider, of course that may change as I get more comfortable riding euc but for now mid to high 20ish mph is fast enough. Only wanted the extra power for those occasions I need to clear certain spots quickly then Im back to my cruising speed .

      Coming from a V11, this thing is a lot of EUC for a Newbie. I came from the RS19. After riding for 2.5 years, conforming to the EX30 still took me a good amount of time to safely muscle this thing around. But now I’m in love. All the power I could ever need. Thanks for watching, have fun on your excursions.

    Having put >2k miles on my ex30, I can honestly & safely say its way more at home on streets (primarily dedicated curvy paved bike pathways) than gnarly technical dirt. For me, at 170ish lbs with a bad left knee. I can feel the weight on streets but its very manageable & definitely fun to be fast & furious. Took a bit but now, I'm finding the ex30 surprisingly capable on mtb singles tho I feel every single 110lbs of it & its alot of work esp with a bum knee. Much easier & more fun to be on my T4 for that specific purpose which btw, feels like a toy now. But ofcos, the ex is very fun & capable on the smoother packed fireroads & similar. Maybe if I'm named Hafthor Bjornsson aka Da Mountain, I might feel very differently 🤣. That said, I ride my ex like a sportbike on the pathways & in that role, its crazy fun. And fast. And the extra weight has made me a much better rider as instead of just muscling it, I have to compensate with good technique. IMO ofcos

      In have to totally agree with you on everything. I had the exact same experience managing the weight. I too feel like it had made me a better rider because of that. Thanks watching.

      I’ll have to take you up on that, once the temperatures go down some. I’ve gone up to Sac twice before on my RS19, but never on the EX30. When up there I rode around the east side of Lake Natomas. I also road the Sac River bike trail staring in old Sac and up the Sacramento River for about 15 miles. I would like to do Folsom Lake and the West Side of Lake Natomas. Seems like some nice riding.
