Nick, the last woman who was so low-oh my gosh, your response was amazing. I have been there; no one bought anything, and it was not only how I was representing myself but also the wrong venue. How you respond brings out the grit deep in our souls, if we are paying attention. THANK YOU for that.
❤oh my gosh, i don't know what is it about you, but i am crying with any simple word that comes out of you. It really really hits me eventhough i have probably heard it before. But with you its so different. Wish i had found you before. So much pain & agony. God bless you Infinitely for healing us. ❤❤❤❤
Nick, what a potent podcast today. There were so many take-aways I connected to. You are a cheerleader for all of us art-makers! Thank you thank you! I’m in the SPARK program at the moment and super excited about the changes happening in my work. I feel alive and open to the surprises. It’s been a worthwhile investment in me. All the best!
What you are saying is so relevant. Art is not just mental, it’s way deeper than that and going in deep is sometimes a little scary 😊 and sharing what is there is also opening up to the world with vulnerability, that alone is not for everyone.
Oh my gosh! I totally get your language, Nick. The way you describe feelings is genuine and relatable. For once I’m trusting that my art knows its way into to the world 🎉
Thank you so much! I can relate to all of the questions and you answered them so clearly and patiently and understandingly! I have learned a lot from this podcast and I look forward to the next.
I have had skin cancer so I need financial support to help with my treatments. I found a cancer organization that will help me and I want to promote them at my art shows so I continue my art journey. I hope this increases my sales by making connections with people. I have been having trouble selling even though people love my art, but don't want to or can't pay for it. I have one woman in my life who whenever she sees my art wants to buy it when she has the money.
Great Nick. So much in "Your Brain on Art" testifies to the healing qualities of getting on and doing it! And inspiration comes, Jerry Saltz says in How to be an artist, from doing it, not waiting for it to appear. So much practical and vital advice on this channel. ❤

As a 79 year old product designer setting up my first fine art studio I find your work here priceless, inspiring, and jaw-dropping honest.
You are my art therapist. I listen to you in the morning to inspire me to take the plunge back into my art! Thank you ❤

Try turning old work upside down or sideways; it will give you more courage to mess it up to go forward and you can always go over your new “practice”

Picasso painted wonderful pieces while Germany occupied Paris. That must have been a hard time but he did it.
Make s mark…. Thanks; that did help
How dose one turn off the critical mind set?
That is a problem that I feel in my life too . What is coming on ? …
Can turn it upside down and forget texture already on the canvas or bone.
I meant board not bone😮
