Goodness, I am just blown away by how fundamentally true so much of what you express feels to me. I have been making art all of my life and I have never encountered someone who describes the experience I have and love, as much as I can love anything in life, as clearly as you do. Heartfelt thanks to you.
This has to be the best podcast Iv'e ever listened to. You are absolutely fascinating! Your analogies, coralations, gosh you made me grin, smile, chuckle. Thankyou so much. Love hearing my thoughts spoken out loud. Please keep sharing.
Possibly the best, finest podcast you’ve ever produced. My pleasure goes beyond you painting, which is mesmerizing. It’s the trueness of yourself exposed-it’s the best therapy ❤❤❤❤❤
Maybe best podcast. A real inspiration for me, a fairly new painter, loving it, finding my way. The freedom to experiment and go for it is so new to me and I see how you handle the colors, the canvas, the second choices - it’s a beautiful piece of learning for me. Thank you so much for giving of yourself in this way. You are teaching me to let go of the constant analytical judging and quietly let intuition guide me. Giant gratitude. 💖.
You are a brilliant communicator and artist, truly. After hearing your valuable insights, I have clarity about some of the obstacles I’ve encountered in my art practice - and in life, actually. Thank you for being so candid and generous with your knowledge.
Delicious way you illustrate your process with you self talk. Lots of info that resonates with me. Trying to determine my “happy ending” to my work is fascinating. I let some work sit that I love and I sometimes give it life just by the trickle, drip or swipe that nails it. What a validation I get connecting with our processes! Thank you so much… you feed my soul!
You’re a natural communicator : I’ve been an artist all my life and recently discovered yourself And this is the first video I’ve seen which explains in an instant and uncomplicated way the potential of the process With thanks 36:5637:0037:02
Doing becomes the path… We need to learn how to deal with hard conversations 🤔 … I don’t think I can ever learn enough on this topic… but starting is a start 👩🎨 THANK-YOU Nicholas for all your time with teaching on RUclips & podcasts ..
Soooo many times I hit pause and added a gem of wisdom to my journal. ❤💗❤️💗❤️💗 “Thank you” seems inadequate for the richness you contribute to my expanding world, but it will have to do. 🙏🏼🌟
I could just watch and listen to you all day. I’m also on this journey of painting intuitively and it’s changing everything. It brings me joy and has really taken the angst out of looking at the blank white space.
I could listen to your voice all day, so peaceful! I didn't follow lesson at all I'm thinking, but enjoyed a very peaceful environment as I painted !? 🫣🤗. Thankyou Nick, lost my Husband of 50 yrs couple months back and this is giving me hope and know he's proud of me for using ALL my supplies again finally! 👍👏
I have the same path it’s just how we are you just go with the flow of whatever it is next and just do it. You just keep painting until you’re happy with what’s in front of you and you will know when it’s finished. Your paintings are all beautiful 🥰👍they are what they are. 👍
This is such amazing food for the soul. Forgetting about all the stress and anxiety and just having such a mind break is truly astounding. Thank you Nicholas
Thank you Vanessa for a truly beautiful vlog. Every time I see all that you capture with your camera I am truly grateful to have found your site and enjoy floating along with you on the canals. The kingfisher is a gem with wings! A pat for Zephyr and sincere Thanks to you.
I was coloring on large paper, mark making w/ big posca pens, while listening to your podcast. Very helpful. Your voice is calming. I would love for you to make more of these type of videos. Thanks Nic
Another great episode! Love that you not only provided insight into your painting process, but you also connected your process to your life experiences. Well done!
Damn! (and thank you:) "The way out is by getting in motion" ] Your such a smart guy and articulate your thoughts so well. Thank you for sharing yourself, your art and your time. I feel so enriched and greatful ;>
So brave to get rid of things. I tend to keep too much stuff and what to must try is different things and see what happens. Maybe paint for an hour watching the changes and not being so afraid . They say process is everything but I guess I'm still hung up on the outcome which is rather a detached view. Responding to what is happening is far more exciting and I can surprise myself. Thank you for this sooo much
There’s always something very inspirational and motivating in watching your videos, so on point with real life and how Im feeling. Just wanted to thank you for making these videos and being so real and inspiring. 48:33
This came at a such perfect time for me… Letting go of something to let the ´new’ come in. Letting go of how art should be done, of how I feel as a base for creating or not… I could go on and on… Thanks.
Really great to watch you paint and talk at the same time. I learn something new every time I watch or listen to you. Thank you for your generosity in passing on your knowledge. 😊🧡
I just discovered you today. Love it, but I was very impressed with the painting before you covered it in white. It was perfect. I have subscribed and will be watching and implementing your wonderful and inspiring ideas!
I just made brililant marks in my art 🖼️ journal as you were talking . Great . So just great . I started art only 9 weeks ago and will never never stop this Life Journey 🌹let’s do this !
Nicholas, I just love what you did here. You are amazing! When I first started watching, I was a little worried! You just taught me how letting go is okay because there may be something around the corner. The geometric shapes grounded the whole art piece. I am super new to painting and looking for my niche. Looking forward to watching more of your podcasts and today I am going to have fun doing something like you just demoed here. Thank you Nicolas! joanie
That was really fun to watch you develop this from scratch! Lots of encouraging, intriguing ideas/reminders. Thanks! (I really enjoy painting while I am chatting with someone, different things happen)
Thanks for sharing your techniques. I am truly inspired by it..I will definitely try it. I am a beginner painter and most interested in Abstract art. 🎉❤
Loved painting along with you on this one! Your voice is amazing it just kept me going and going and going and your attitude that's just otherworldly it's so awesome like sitting by a stream or babbling Brook ❤️
As soon as you started mixing that Orange my eyes and heart leapt. Up to that point I had been feeling nauseous as I often do with teal or turquoise based colours. I know mostly from my stomach when a colour doesn’t feel right to me, rather than by my head. In the last class I went to, textile art, people would come to me to check their colours. I didn’t tell them what to use but I showed them how to “audition” colours with each other. I showed them how to twist threads together to “mix” different colours that they didn’t have. But most of all I showed them how to recognise gut feelings about colour, like my teal based nausea, or eye reactions, where they feel their eye is dazzled, or confusion, or a feeling of excitement or relaxation when choosing their colours. So many just pick up their habitual colours.
If I find myself pondering actively over something, spending too much time on it, I now realise that it is causing me a problem. It might be a person, a hobby, a painting. It’s one thing to realise that, it’s another thing to act on it.
This was a wonderful experience to watch! I went back into a piece in progress and simply tried a completely different approach-playing and experimenting with something I had never tried. It was fun-and I’m still experimenting!! Thank you!
As you have electronic images ditch everything that no longer represents you. I am still agitating on that. Or try collage and use them. I donated four huge bin bags of clothes. I had two friends put them in bags when I said to bin them. Then they had to put them away. I didn’t once look in them. Then two of us took them to the shop. Now I have more to go. It’s encouraging.
Thanks so much for this tutorial, Nick. Your creativity just gets better and better. What if you set out to purposely make a real mess? How would you approach saving it?
It seems a neverending game it dies stretch the possibilities it does open doors it does change perspective its dies make one mire creative and forget the boring aspects of life and move forward into a brave new world thanks alot
I loved the week I had. I did an abstract of sqares, mainly in greys, pinks, a little yellow and a little white. I really liked but I would like to hear from Nicholas or one of the many coaches for any constructive criticism (or maybe its perfect and they love it, lol). This is an 8 x 10 canvas.
Hi Nicholas, Thank you for sharing your painting process. I found it was very inspirational. I have a couple of questions to ask if I may. The first one is that I noticed you were not using any painting mediums. The second, what kind of paints did you applied and can I purchase them in UK? The last one is that when you creating the images on the surface, did you visualise them in your head or did you make some preliminary sketches? Kind regards , 😊❤

Yes,art is a magic metaphor for what our lives are. Thank for the generosity of your sharing.
Thank you watching helped me🙏
Brilliant! Thank you so much, it's just what I needed to hear for more steps into why I want to do art.
That was really fun to watch you develop this from scratch! Lots of encouraging, intriguing ideas/reminders. Thanks! (I really enjoy painting while I am chatting with someone, different things happen)

Like the process
So amazing to watch your process. Thank you! It’s so inspiring, I am heading straight to my studio! ❤

I love watching you paint and listen to your thoughts. It’s very inspiring.
This is gold.
❤ I try not to be perfect in my art and just let go… making a mess not caring is where I love to go!!! Maybe a metaphor for my life right now!!! ❤
I just started to watch your videos i love what you have to say. When is your next class? In person like the trip to Moraco
Great lesson. Thank you.
I love this piece and the way you focus so much on the creative process Nick. There’s so much to learn from what you shared here , thank you 🙏🏽
I just do it with a few thoughts of what I want to work with. I am making my own art to work with. That excites me. ❤
Love this! So funny too. Good sense of humour Nick. Where do u get your paint???
Good thinking…good direction without a compass of control and determination of the end…
Your voice matches art! new to abstract , what is meaning? Love the chance to work and move on it!
I love this! life making/metaphor behind it all. genius! can't wait for next short programme, and next year cvp.
Great podcast... Love it.... So much to think about.
If I find myself pondering actively over something, spending too much time on it, I now realise that it is causing me a problem. It might be a person, a hobby, a painting. It’s one thing to realise that, it’s another thing to act on it.
I haven't figured out the voice thing but want to say i always enjoy these podcasts!
Metaphor of life, I l like it
This was a wonderful experience to watch! I went back into a piece in progress and simply tried a completely different approach-playing and experimenting with something I had never tried. It was fun-and I’m still experimenting!! Thank you!
😊earthquake in Morocco hope you are able to keep your course on
That was great Nick. Thank you :)
How many layers/ attempts to create a painting can you put on a canvas before you risk the paint cracking and falling off the surface?
As you have electronic images ditch everything that no longer represents you. I am still agitating on that.
Or try collage and use them.
I donated four huge bin bags of clothes. I had two friends put them in bags when I said to bin them. Then they had to put them away. I didn’t once look in them. Then two of us took them to the shop.
Now I have more to go. It’s encouraging.
Great video Lance!

It seems a neverending game it dies stretch the possibilities it does open doors it does change perspective its dies make one mire creative and forget the boring aspects of life and move forward into a brave new world thanks alot
44:46 you art is like the total expression of you!
I’m curious, when exploring, why do you bother using a pallet? Why not just place the chosen paint on the surface???
Thanks:)
Nick what kind of paint are you using?
I loved the week I had. I did an abstract of sqares, mainly in greys, pinks, a little yellow and a little white. I really liked but I would like to hear from Nicholas or one of the many coaches for any constructive criticism (or maybe its perfect and they love it, lol). This is an 8 x 10 canvas.
thank you very much, how come you dont use water?
So much goodness here
Cool stuff - learning a lot! Do you ever work with triangles?
Hi Nicholas, Thank you for sharing your painting process. I found it was very inspirational. I have a couple of questions to ask if I may. The first one is that I noticed you were not using any painting mediums. The second, what kind of paints did you applied and can I purchase them in UK? I can almost not watch you covering up all the yummiest parts, Nick. Bahaha. Different strokes..... Thanks, that's great.
is it a canvas or paper?
I like the way you make looks painting so easy!!😀😀
It this acrylic paint or oil?
like this one can only paint with acrylics!
❤
