I think the part that really broke my heart about her death happens later on when Flora is being taken by the lady of the lake to be drowned. Rebecca is following them and continually tells Flora that she will not feel a thing and that Rebecca will trap her in a memory while it happens. This implies that Rebecca was going to feel the drowning AGAIN just so Flora wouldn't. Even though we already saw how much it traumatized her when she confronts Peter about it.
The fact that both Rebecca and Dani were willing to die (or feel death again) for Flora is amazing. This was a love story, but not exclusively romantic love.
My first thought as well. Becca was emotionally manipulated at every turn by Peter, and she allowed it, because it was just her. But when it came down to it, and other people were at risk, she was truly kind and unselfish.

The scariest thing about this is that things like these happen in real life. People romanticize putting themselves in danger for their significant others. And no one who truly loves you would be willing to take you to the grave. Peter saw Rebecca as his lifeguard. The medicine for his trauma. Some people just don’t know what love really is. But Dani doesn’t let her, cause she wants her to go on with her life, even if it means they can’t physically be together. It is truly a love story.
Don't romanticized their toxic and selfish relationship. I think you should go to therapy if you sympathize with Peter. He never loved her. He just kept her soul for himself. Becca is a good person but she deceived by his lies. This scene is deeply traumatic and i think this is the saddest part of this story. She tried to build a career as a strong woman then she became a slave of an asshole.
He loved her, just because someone does something bad doesn't mean they're evil. Its good to understand someone's pain. Trust me, I dated someone who was an evil asshole. He loved me I never doubted it. But he was fucked up in the head and i needed to protect myself before its too late and my life is ruined. Some people like Becca aren't fortunate enough to see that until they are screwed over
I sympathize with him only to the extent that he was physically and sexually abused by his father while his mother stood by and did nothing. It explains (but does not excuse) his outlook and behavior as an adult and through the course of the series. He doesn’t know or understand real love and relationships. The themes of love and ownership are on display- especially between him and Rebecca versus Dani and Jaime.

He was a monster and no amount of trauma can excuse that. If he really loved her, he’d want to see her alive and well, even if it was without him. Like Dani did with Jamie. Not only does she trust him to take care of her but when he decides to kill her, he is too much of a coward to feel it himself, leaving her all alone on a selfish choice he made on his own, without her consent. And when, in the end, Viola snatched Flora and dragged her to the lake, the poor woman tried to tuck her away so she would feel the pain instead of her. Her bravery was remarkable, even after all she went through because of Peter, she would still go through it again to protect Flora. Rebecca was a hero, despite the bad choices she made, which, even those, she made under Peter's influence and because she loved him. And her crying over her dead body still gives me goosebumps, it will stay with me forever. I'm still not over this, I could write an entire essay on it.

How and why did Peter Quint die? What is the relationship between his parents and him (his mother was shown in some scenes where he's stuck in the same loop) Edit: is that Peter at the bottom of the lake or Mr Lloyd?
I haven't watched this show in a hot minute but I think Peter died because he ran into the Lady of the Lake while she was mindlessly walking around the house. Something like that. I don't remember who was at the bottom of the lake tho
When he’s in that same loop it’s basically implied his father abused him and other children ( at least that’s what I got from it) he tells her “you knew yet you let kids come over”. As to why he died hummm the house/lady of the lake needed another body I think.
Out of all the romances in this show this one was probably the most gothic romance to ever romance. He loved her so much that he killed her so she couldn't leave him. 😭😢😭😢 He just didn't want to be alone.
I loved this scene while I thought she was doing it of her own free will just to be with him again. I did not know he was possessing her to kill herself 😕

The whole concept of this series is Gothic Romance, I guess (?). Peter didn't expect anything else other than possess Rebecca all just for himself, by killing her it means that Rebecca will always remain by his side, no matter what. Later on we then know that Peter was planning on taking over Miles and Flora's body, so he and Rebecca can be alive one more time together. This is a toxic-selfish Love. But as you can see on the few last episodes that Rebecca is a good hearted woman, by not getting along with Peter's plan.
What if Peter never left Rebecca's body? Like she is in a dream while her body is drowning and never return. Maybe her body was scared bc it was Peter inside of her and he saw his body on the lake (and he was screaming bc he was dying too lol). Just thinkin
Nope. She was sent from the “tucked away” place to reality where she was drowning because he left her body. She confirmed this later when she confronted him, saying he left her there to die on her own. In the end, he selfishly wanted her to himself and couldn’t even handle the pain himself, so put her through it instead
Peter had taken control of her body and brought her deep into the water until water began to fill up her lungs. Only then did he leave and give her control. She didn't have enough time to swim up before she died.
After watching this again for like the 4th or 5th time i see this scene differently. It looks like peter decided he didn't want to drown Rebecca but she didn't know how to swim. Idk, what do you all think? I'm guna check google to see if the directors have an opinion about it. Also i just caught Rebecca saying to peter right after she found her body that ,"after the water entered her lungs he just left her to do it alone." So yeah, peters a pos
Nope, that wasn't it. Wishful thinking for Rebecca i guess 😢 He gave her back control at the last second before she could save herself, which was why she was so devastated at seeing her body.
Rebecca is a selfish, narcissistic personality. If she was truly a caring person, she wouldn't have given into Peter's charms and flattery. If it was Dani, it would have been impossible for Peter to manipulate her. But Becca played along with him in all his schemes. 1. Peter never loved Becca. He just needed a tool to enter Bly Manor so that he can deceive Henry with his pretence. 2.Pete and Becca were absolutely toxic that they didn't hesitate to screw poor Miles' sanity. Even after completely aware of what he is up to, Becca sat back watching those poor children suffering in his hands. 3. Above all, she was a greedy vulture. She readily agreed, when Pete robbed Henry, as much as he could, and then plotted to elope with her. 4. She deserves the end she was led to because she betrayed the trust of those two little, innocent souls who loved her. 5. Peter was never true to her. It was obvious when he tried Peeping at Dani as she started to undress. It was not the poor Miles, but the ghost of Peter that possessed him. Finally, both Pete and Rebecca were Worse than the Lady in the Lake
She literally tried to save Flora from experiencing drowning. Peter played her emotional insecurities. To try to save the children she had to play along partially with his plan to make him think she was okay with it.
Dude, you need to watch the whole thing again, I guess. Rebecca was a true hero. Tragically murdered. Peter just couldn't see that she would move on and do better in life.
the fact that peter took her choice away and selfishly chose to kill her to keep her there with him was so sad.

And only then she realizes what he had talked her into, but it’s too late because the water is already in her lungs (she says that later in the episode to him, that he left as the water went into her lungs).
Hopefully Peter went to hayle where he belonged, he was hortible. Manipulating Rebecca into drowning herself. Possessing miles body and brutally murdering hannah with in miles body which im sure he somehow could see what was happening. Then stealing and going on the run, but was stopped by Viola miserable arse. Peter had no problem with taking Dani hostage and trying to take over the kids bodies. He caught 2 bodies, Rebecca and Hannah because he was a self serving person. He killed Rebecca knowing she would leave to better things eventually, then Hannah because she caught on what was happening with Miles or something was off. There were other ghosts but they were not killing people, Viola was, he was not capable of real love and needed lots of therapy.
What was sad is how he wasn’t anywhere to be seen when she was drowning and how it was already too late to save herself
This was so sad😫
The part that hit me hard was when they both took the picture and you see they are both dead.
I can't believe we never got closure on what happened to Rebecca and Peter.
I also want to know if they even got a chance to talk once they crossed over
@@TheNaturalfirefly You'd think the writers would at least give us a scene of them hand in hand fading into peace.
@@LonnieBhi after everything peter put her through i don't think they'd go hand in hand
The ghosts all disappeared and moved on when Dani broke the curse and let the lady of the lake into her
This part is so sad because her life was token from her
I cried. Crying over her own body.
I'm so bad at handling horror that I decided to just watch the clips on youtube with Bob Marley in the background to ease the tension. When this scene came on, No Woman No Cry started playing.
Very dark take on the ragnar/lagertha scene lol
What do you mean?
Me: Ugh that peter 😒 i just wanna punch him for all he did to Ms. Jessel and the others-
Also me after watching hill house for the first time: Oh mah god this is soooo sad like Luke and Nelle WAHHHH😭😭
Me again rewatching bly manor: Why did u have to do that Luke! 😢
where can we find the music for this scene, i don't know which one in the soundtrack, can someone help me? please ?
It’s you it’s me it’s us
Hey, what is the name of this song, please?
It's You, It's Me, It's Us.
I love haunting movies I've never seen one that disturbed me the way this movie did. How he took her life here and also how the woman became the lady of the lake made me feel sick to my stomach
This show is something truly haunting… in a macabre, tragic, gothic way.
This killed me but knowing what hes done and for her to still communicate with him broke me because why...he did her so dirty.
Cried like a baby 😭
How and why did Peter Quint die? What is the relationship between his parents and him (his mother was shown in some scenes where he's stuck in the same loop)
Edit: is that Peter at the bottom of the lake or Mr Lloyd?
I haven't watched this show in a hot minute but I think Peter died because he ran into the Lady of the Lake while she was mindlessly walking around the house. Something like that. I don't remember who was at the bottom of the lake tho
When he’s in that same loop it’s basically implied his father abused him and other children ( at least that’s what I got from it) he tells her “you knew yet you let kids come over”. As to why he died hummm the house/lady of the lake needed another body I think.
The name of the song?
It's you, it's me, it's us.
Out of all the romances in this show this one was probably the most gothic romance to ever romance. He loved her so much that he killed her so she couldn't leave him. 😭😢😭😢 He just didn't want to be alone.
THIS DEATH IS REALLY SCARY ! Seeing your own body omg😱😢😢
Essa cena foi triste demais 😢😢😢
He left her body because he saw his own body under the lake i just figured it out😪😪
What hits me about this scene is the way rebecca morned for herself damn
What part of the soundtrack is that?

“It’s you, it’s me, it’s us.”
I loved this scene while I thought she was doing it of her own free will just to be with him again. I did not know he was possessing her to kill herself 😕
Does anyone know if that was Peter body in the water when she was drowning.?
yes, it was!
It’s worse. He was in control initially but he flaked halfway through and let her drown by herself
I bawled with her
Is there a small skull near Peters corpse? The chest is definately there. Its like the lake holds everything is suspense as they should have decayed long ago.
years went by, and im still hung up on the fact that he freaking left her to feel the drowning at the point of no return. selfish mofo. and then she offered to drown instead of flora when was about to get killed by viola 😭😭😭 the difference between the two..
I told her about Rebecca she said don’t let post this weekend so we’ll see she’s definitely dead in lake
Rebecca floating, but Peter not!?
Maybe the lady hold him until there was no oxygen ? Don't know.
corpses float for a short period after death- peter sunk to the bottom because he had already been dead for some time at this point. rebecca’s body would have sunk as well after a day or two
@@cara9680 Well Peter just died and bodies float in the first place because of the oxygen remaining on their lungs but after a few days, they start floating because of the gasses product by the bacterias. I think it's the context of death, the lady grabbed him to the water whereas Rebecca drowned on her own.
@@julzalta6466 the gasses produced by bacteria happen regardless of the context of death, which is why i’m assuming it has more to do with the time. but i agree that the lack of air in his lungs would probably have caused him to sink more quickly than her
@@cara9680 I agree that's why I think that the supernatural nature of his death is to take into account when she's dead rather naturally, if it weren't for the soul sharing lol. When "Poppins" dies by the Lady in White possession, she is also stuck in the bottom in the same manner than Peter. It's a hypothesis of course lol
This show reminds me of that first season of American horror story.
It totally gave me murder house vibes
Can someone explain what did she expect once he put his conscious into her body? Did he just expect to live with her in him? Can someone that understands it well write what they think
thank you
I think that was the plan. To share one body.
@@tny86 I just dont see what she expected from that, or she wanted to be tucked away in a memory? If so as far as she knew when she died she could just continure living with Peter at Bly manor but as ghost, because she didnt know that they ''fade away'
Song?
It's you it's me it's us
What if Peter never left Rebecca's body? Like she is in a dream while her body is drowning and never return. Maybe her body was scared bc it was Peter inside of her and he saw his body on the lake (and he was screaming bc he was dying too lol). Just thinkin
Nope. She was sent from the “tucked away” place to reality where she was drowning because he left her body. She confirmed this later when she confronted him, saying he left her there to die on her own. In the end, he selfishly wanted her to himself and couldn’t even handle the pain himself, so put her through it instead
This scene was the peak of the show, then it went down hill after.
Let’s be honest, no one liked Peter lol
What a weird couple
I have been in a toxic relationship before and it shows , I was thinking awe he killed her so they can be together finally 🤭let me just -

Peter didn’t suffer enough I’m sorry 🙄
He left 😭
Putz esse cara que faz até o tate parecer um bom namorado
Αυτή η σειρά είναι καταπληκτική
He was so selfish
This dont happen to black woman that want to be baristas. Not one
SAD
I mean she cant jump back in there
Her body is already decomposing.
When a body floats to the top it is the gas from decomposition in the stomach that is building up.
I dont get it
Could she not swim?
The water was already in her lungs.
I guess people dont know how to swim
Finally, both Pete and Rebecca were
Worse than the Lady in the Lake
She literally tried to save Flora from experiencing drowning. Peter played her emotional insecurities. To try to save the children she had to play along partially with his plan to make him think she was okay with it.
She didn’t know he robbed Henry till after he died.
Dude, you need to watch the whole thing again, I guess. Rebecca was a true hero. Tragically murdered. Peter just couldn't see that she would move on and do better in life.
