    "After the housekeeper's body was taken from the well, some in the village said that the cook rode with her all the way to the coroner. And there, he insisted on cleaning her himself, which he managed with a soft towel, soap scented with lavender and the greatest of care. He stayed at her side until she was buried and he loved her the whole way. I'm told and I believe, that he loves her still"
    The sobs that escaped me at that moment...

      Their story was beautiful and tragic 😢. But honestly the part about him bathing the body didn’t necessarily make sense to me? Wouldn’t they need to examine it given the circumstances? She was also down there enough days, exposed to the elements, that I don’t think she’d be in great condition. Kind of morbid to think about. Maybe it’s supposed to be a nod to Hill House, except he obviously wouldn’t have done the medical parts.

      @@janedoll3237 I washed and prepared my grandad for burial when he died with soap, water and towel - it's completely normal in our culture. Different cultures treat the dead differently. In many parts of the East for example, it's normal and expected that someone close will clean the corpse before gently wrapping it up with a white cloth for burial (or cremation). It may seem morbid to you, but in other parts of the world it's a respectful, loving and caring ritual. What I find morbid is people who rip out the insides and inject preservative liquids into their dead loved ones, keeping them for weeks or months on end. But as I said, what's morbid to one might be the opposite to another.

    Learning that Hannah had been dead the entire time broke my fucking heart, her love story with Owen was pure and beautiful. I couldn't help but smile every time they showed their adoration for each other. It was probably the biggest injustice in the series, because if anyone deserved to be loved it was Hannah. I have never sobbed more in my life for a character than I did for her, realising she had been looking down at her body when we first meet her. Peter Quint deserved to become a faceless monster, because that's all he was.

    In the final episode years later, the Bly's estate nanny, groundskeeper and chef, all meet up. The chef mentions that he saw the children recently, all grown up, that they remember everyone except Hannah. That was a chilling moment realizing how Hannah was only at Bly a very short time alive.

    Hannah’s story was the most disturbing to me. The thought of losing time, not knowing you’re passed or not accepting it, and just an empty feeling of longing. What a show ❤

    I couldn't help but think how similar Hanna's clinging to certain memories, her repeating some facts about her self over and over, the confusion she felt every time she would travel or wander from one memory into another and the illness of demantia that Owen's mom was suffering from ... I find it very interesting that hanna was struggling the whole time trying to cling to her own past with difficulty just like Owen's mom did.

    Hannah's episode was masterful! It was so confusing at first how everything kept jumping around and coming back to the conversation with Owen and seeing that crack in the wall. And then when everything was revealed, as crazy confusing as it all felt, everything fell into place PERFECTLY. This is my kind of horror--it was definitely creepy and a scary though nowhere near Hill House, thank God--I'm actually a big chicken and it's really hard for me to watch horror movies/shows and not lose sleep. But I will subject myself to Flannagan's work because at least I know I'm going to get a great story and not a bunch of gratuitous jump scares.

    i still can't understand how could she shake hands with Dani and touch Owen (like Owen kissed her on a cheek and she fell asleep on his shoulder) when the other ghosts couldn't touch anyone who was alive??? I mean when Peter died, Rebbeca couldn't touch him too.

    Other ghosts can't interact with living people such as Hannah, and time did not erase her face, that's why we we confused and didn't know that she is dead. This is very sad story...

  • @jpl9723
    @jpl9723 3 года назад +4

    She's been dream hopping for most of the time and all the characters didn't even know her dead.
    Though I'm just wondering how did she do it? Is she a part of the house or is she a soul without any grudge to any of the characters? I'm quite confused with her time hopping ability and her humanlike interaction with the living...

    How did the ghost Hanna cook food and was able to touch / feel others?When Peter first appeared in front of Rebecca she was not able to touch him right? The ghosts of both of them were not able to touch the kids either.Can someone explain? Just finished watching today

    • @mattlibra3139

      Hannah herself was constantly dream hopping and frankly didn’t know she was dead. She was, to put it in terms like hill house, sleepwalking, so she could interact with the world because she wasn’t awake to the fact that she was dead
