Fun fact - the lake house was actually owned by actor Roy Scheider (from Jaws) and the lake is Lake Oscawana in Putnam County, about 90 minutes north of NYC. For the interiors, they rebuilt the cabin in Silvercup Studios in Queens, where the rest of the series was filmed.
Getting made without popping your cherry is extremely rare. Bobby got made because his dad was so ruthless & totally feared. When T is sulking alone on the pier he doesn’t even acknowledge the duck flying. He’s gone from in awe of ducks to feeling nothing about them. That dock bell ringing in the background got his attention more than the duck flying by. Wonder why??
PS: Drnk Carm, “WHAAT?!, OMG, WHAAT?!”. Edie stopped hangin around with the cast at functions because she is a 12 stepper herself. She hadta go to AA in the 90s. She knew she couldn’t be at a function with drinks and her work buddies cuzza temptation. Very similar to Chrissy’s story.
Remember when Tony was sizing up dudes in the back of Satrialle's? And he ended up picking on the bald, muscled up guy? If you look at how the camera pans, he looks at all the guys' arms/biceps, including Bobby. I feel like Tony didn't want it with Bobby then, and here we see why. Then again, I may be talking out my a...😅😅😅
Tony was looking for the guy who his beating up would impress the other guys the most. He didn’t pass over Bobby because he was scared of him, he passed over Bobby because beating him up would not be perceived as the most impressive by the others.
They filmed the fight scene months after the rest of the episode and they couldn't go back to the cabin so they built a replica on a stage at Silvercup Studios.
I think you're right that it was envy/jealousy but the fight was the trigger (no pun intended) that pushed Tony to send Bobby on that hit. It was definitely petty. Bobby was as pure as you can be and still be a soldier in the Mafia, and now Tony has poisoned him.
The Influence of Tony/Livia is truly omnipresent as they constantly spread misery without a second of contentment as Carmela could not for the life of her enjoy the moment when she was in Paris with Ro and don't get me started with Janice
I never noticed it before but Carmela's neck seems like it hurts before the fight - I always assumed it was from when she got knocked over but she's clearly in discomfort when they're playing Monopoly. I wonder if its from her birthday gift to Tony
Janice has been the first to criticize Tony for Bobby not getting paid enough or get promotions. Per BCS .. if you want next level pay, you need to do next level work!
Reason Carm brot up kid who drowned was he was still miffed at Janisssse claiming TONY had to change for their relationship to improve so T had Carm bring that story up just to F w/ Janice (mom of young Nica). Then J instantly got panicked over Nica being by the water. Ton knew that would mindfuck Janice. Similar to him bein mad at her therapy for anger management working while he felt miserable so he brot up her estranged son Harpo. T hates others’ success. Also why he enabled Chris to drink after he got sober. And why he wanted to strangle his Mexican maid who was sad at her fam being killed in a Mexican buscrash. Also, why T hates the happy wanderer douchebags who have clear heads. Ton hates others feelin good cuz he himself doesn’t.
Meadow isn’t emulating her mom. They are almost complete opposites. Meadow is a highly intelligent student & Carmela dropped out of community college to marry Tony. Mead wants a mob free adult life that Carm sees it as a great opportunity to raise a family in. Meadow has genuine empathy for others & Carmela is a completely self centered person.
@@gregsgoogle2947I wasn't comparing Meadow and Carmela OVERALL. I was comparing how she changes her position based on who she is talking to. Meadow plays both sides against the middle in the season 3 finale during the Jackie Jr. funeral, amongst other examples. So, I hate to break it to you, but you're wrong.
This episode is a masterclass in restraint...starting stressful then slowing down to a happy relaxing birthday that gradually descends into madness...
“Hey T, it’s me, just wanted to wish you a belated happy birthday.”

Times. Up. The bell tolls 🔔
Carmela speaking for all of us at the time, knowing we're on the final nine; "Is this IT?!"
This is probably my favourite episode of the Sopranos! “Under the board walk, with a ….”😜
My favourite is the next!
“This is a feel good episode so far!”
😶😶😶
Tony saying: "I'm different how? How am I different?" is most likely a reference to Goodfellas
Hoping this one stays up!

Big up Edie falco
Bobby is too good for this world 😩

@@billdouglas8701 yeah fr, lmao Tony knew he wasn't a threat and somebody beating up Bobby wouldn't look as impressive.
“How ‘bout dat? How ‘bout dat?”

This is a feel good episode 😂😂then the fight
One of my 15 top episodes. There’s only maybe one episode in 6b that doesn’t hit. It’s a really consistent yet unique and surprising final stretch.

It's the beginning of the end now
"I'm different how? How am I different?" ... Respect to Tommy (Joe Pesci) from Goodfellas ..
I hope u got that Goodfellas Reference 😂

It was like seeing a Grizzly go up against a black bear. The Grizzly won, but the black bear took his name down for future reference…
36:31 Bobby Sr to Bobby Jr, the cycle continues…
Tony obsessing over horrible deaths of children is something he picked up from livia.

Don't you hate it when you're trying to do your laundry in a laundromat and someone always leaves their clothes behind in the dryer?
A lot of people have said the father that Bobby clipped was Hal, Janice's son, being french Canadian and all.
what evidence is there for that?
@@orangewarm1 It's rumoured, no direct evidence like I said.
…always with the scenarios.
Nah....Janice refers to Hal as a 'street person' so it couldn't be him
Carmela plays both sides against the midlle better than anyone. Meadow tries to emulate her, but she is an amateur compared to her mom.

@@eliemoses Fingers Crossed you'll get it next time 🤞
In all fairness Bobby suckered punched him to start the fight.
yeap and they're all drunk.
You love the sound of your own voice dude. Constantly babbling over scenes.
