I'm sold. with the 4-Axis view screen. I was surely hoping it did not have the flip out only screen. I like using the screen from the back underneath the view finder in alignment with my lens. And the price on Sony site: $3899 was expected
Hey, looks awesome, but when are these important features coming on the flagship A1? Focus bracketing, longer exposures and focus breathing compensation is a must for a camera at this pricepoint. Please include this in version 1.4
It's gonna be a new Sony Medium Format with 200MP Boom! It'll be called the Sony AM1...haha I'm dreaming I don't need a medium format but back then I wanted to have a Pentax 645Z.
I know this camera is catered to still photographers, but I recently got it to use for video podcasting and live streaming because of it's incredible resolution and simplified webcam setup. However, I was surprised by a few factors that I really hope Sony adjusts for in the future. 1. The fact that a battery still has to be in the camera and be somewhat charged while using external power means that I'm still limited by battery power. I really wish you could bypass the battery altogether with external power so you could eliminate that worry for longer shoots, especially live ones. 2. More on external power issues, if I want to use the camera as a high res 4k or 1080p webcam, I have to use the usb-c port on the camera, but that is also the only way to get external power... so then I'm limited to getting a 720p stream via the micro-usb port. I'm going to try a dummy battery with an AC power adapter next so I can get back to using the USB-C port for the live stream connection, but that requires purchasing extra accessories and I'm going to have to completely remove the battery cover on the bottom of the camera since the camera won't sit on my tripod plate correctly while that door is open. It looks like some models have a second, smaller door that can be opened for the dummy cord, but the a7Rv does not. 3. The camera only records audio in 48kHz/16-bit, but the standard audio format used in video is 48kHz/24-bit (or 441.kHz/16-bit if you're working primarily in music). I initially tried routing my external mics through the Sony via a mixpre6 and at best was getting a bad buzzing sound, and at worst a terrible buzz that drowned out everything else. Now I can't help but wonder if the 16-bit audio has something to do with it? Going forward, I decided to record my audio separately and re-sync in post which is when I actually realized that the audio in the Sony is recorded in 48khz/16-bit and there's no way to change it (I scoured the handbook and even called Sony and got a rep to confirm that while it supposedly works with external accesories that record in 24-bit, the camera itself only records in 16-bit). Finally, when I tried to sync the audio I recorded separately, I was seeing black frames in my footage and I can't help but wonder if it's due to the mis-matched audio settings. I'm going to look into transcoding my Sony footage first next time to see if that makes a difference, but right now I'm just really surprised that I'm even having to trouble shoot this. I don't understand why you can't adjust the bit depth of the audio, or at least why the built-in setting doesn't match the industry standard of 48kHz/24 bit? Overall, the look this camera provides is incredible which is why I haven't given up yet, but these issues do limit how easy it is to use the camera...
the A7C have $200 rebate now, i'm hopeful there's A7C II coming. I'm waiting for that camera too. I only have one wish for it... bigger and high res EVF.
It really misses a lot of opportunities for flash photography without the 1/400s sync speed as the A1. I think it is a huge miscalculation for a high resolution camera. 😢
Great camera with great sensor technology! Everything we are looking for in camera. Love it! Unfortunately, the price is way too expensive for most consumers even for the entry and intermediate professional photographers.
Dude..that will be a few years..lol the A74 just came out..lol and yes all this features on this upcoming A7R5 will be trickled down to the upcoming cameras for sure..A1MarkII, A93?..etc. this is A7R5 is basically the "next gen" Sony features going forward..
I currently use an old Canon 7DII with Tamron 150-600mm lens as my primary wildlife setup. I also use an A7RIII as a supplemental camera only as it doesn't do animal eye focusing fast enough or with a wider variety of subjects. The A7RV looks like a good candidate to finally get rid of my Canon gear and go 100% Sony including one of there telephoto lenses. This looks to be a camera to get excited about - IF it performs as advertised. Also -- about your video: the music overpowers the narration in too many places and sorta makes it annoying to listen to.
I haven't owned Sony for a number of years and want to make a return. It says up to 30 mins recording in 8K. But could you record a conference all day in 4K, i.e. no record limit in 4K?
It's α7R V 61MP with new AI auto focus ( the biggest revolution ), 8k cropped, better 8 stops IBIS and more BUT you have 100% right that people want more α6600 successor. We should see new APS-C in Q1 2023 as base on history: α5000 - 07 Jan 2014 _||_ α6000 - 12 Feb 2014 _||_ α6300 - 03 Feb 2016 _||_ α6400 - 15 Jan 2019
What is the use of subtitles in 21 languags when your camera doesn't support them all. (I brought an a6400 in china and there is no English on it. I mean come Sony..)
I have been hoping they would bring the focus stepping for stacking in macro & landscape photography. It will be hard not to switch to Sony now. 33-42MP Stacked sensor with focus stacking would be the dream. Or even ad focus stepping to the A1!
I would say wait until this thing gets into actual hands and gets tested. The sony A1 autofocus system along with Canon's is better than the Nikon Z9 at least before firmware 3.0. I made the huge jump from Nikon and Fuji over to Sony and for the most part, I haven't looked back. Sony has taken a position of leadership and just when the competition catches up, bam Sony introduces something new and surges ahead. My goal is to move to the Fx6 or Fx9 series and have one system for both photography, videography with strong support for third party support. Sony has answered my call, now if only they can get fx6 or fx9 in stock. I have shot Nikon for decades so you could only imagine how many bodies and glass that I own and it was a two year decision. Sony isn't giving excuses, they are giving answers. I still like Nikon and how can I not, I have shot with it for 40 years in between shooting Canon, but for me, Sony is the right camera system at the right time and for now, I'm all in with three bodies and I will be buying an exclusive cinema body, we shoot Blackmagic for video for now.
@@rileyschannel I would call myself an hybrid shooter. Wildlife, sports and landscape. The Z9 looks big and clumsy but I still got some good nikon glass and an adapter for the new z mount. Maybe wait for some more testing and comparison. As I write this I lean towards the Z9.
@@sidvicious3129 Thank you for a good reply! I think the waiting game is on for more hands-on review and comparison. The Z9 looks more like an A1 fighter, but the price of the new A7r V is more in my range than the A1, but still less than the Z9. As I still got some good Nikon glass and an Z adapter I have the opportunity to just buy Z9 body and not change system completely if I go with Sony. Lots to think about and things to compare.

No COMPETITION!! This camera is going to be a BEAST!!
Being waiting all day for this 😅
The screen is perfection! I am a videographer, so I hope the a7S IV will have the same screen. Please Sony🙏
Quite amused the way technology in imaging is evolving. Thrilling too.. Fantastic than the fancy, Sony❤
Hey, looks awesome, but when are these important features coming on the flagship A1? Focus bracketing, longer exposures and focus breathing compensation is a must for a camera at this pricepoint. Please include this in version 1.4
Professionalism at its best
A7 RV with focus stacking please, thx.
Oh Sony. You are real consistent.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Can you make a tilt shift lens?
I know it's not an A7Cii... but damn I wish it was.
the A7C have $200 rebate now, i'm hopeful there's A7C II coming. I'm waiting for that camera too. I only have one wish for it... bigger and high res EVF.
Ready for the order!!
we got the FX3 ... not long after the FX30.... and now presenting the new FX300
8 stops of IBIS @.@ I will buy it and I am in Japan right now!!!!
But that's not really the target demographic for this camera. The A7V will come and be more suitable
I love this, I'm onboard. Take my money!
Does it has built-in multi exposure? If it does, I will upgrade from A7R3.
Amazing stuff! Love the new camera. ❤ Please give us a new A7V with A.I., better rolling shutter, no crop 4K50p and this 4 axis screen, please. 🙏🏻🤗
Dude..that will be a few years..lol the A74 just came out..lol and yes all this features on this upcoming A7R5 will be trickled down to the upcoming cameras for sure..A1MarkII, A93?..etc. this is A7R5 is basically the "next gen" Sony features going forward..
But does it have focus breathing compensation?? 😮💨 FX3
Most probably the photography beast...... ?
a7rv....
😍I'm loving this whole new re-work, will it put the A7IV out of business?
As the A7III is still an expensive and wonderful camera you should offer us the new color-profile for JPGs also an update - PLEASE 😘
would be wild if it can do 4k no crop and up to 4k120. Would understand if there's a crop there
No 4k 120. Only has HD 120fps. It does have 4k 60.
I love sony. Good brand ,good product .
Can it record Prores RAW Video internally / or externally with an Atomos Ninja?
It can (9:32)
i am so so happy to this announcement sony a7rv
The volume of the background music makes it "foreground"
As someone who's been shooting apsc for years.. please be a6800/a6900 🙏🙏
We just got the FX30 an aps-c cinecam and then the 1" ZV-1F so it's gotta be a Full Frame....or maybe it's a Medium Format!
I still have my a6600. Bout time for an update on this excellent little camera.
It's α7R V 61MP with new AI auto focus ( the biggest revolution ), 8k cropped, better 8 stops IBIS and more BUT you have 100% right that people want more α6600 successor. We should see new APS-C in Q1 2023 as base on history: α5000 - 07 Jan 2014 _||_ α6000 - 12 Feb 2014 _||_ α6300 - 03 Feb 2016 _||_ α6400 - 15 Jan 2019
I also hope sony will have one pcs APCS have body same with 6600 but base better than
WHY
What is the use of subtitles in 21 languags when your camera doesn't support them all. (I brought an a6400 in china and there is no English on it. I mean come Sony..)
I have been hoping they would bring the focus stepping for stacking in macro & landscape photography. It will be hard not to switch to Sony now. 33-42MP Stacked sensor with focus stacking would be the dream. Or even ad focus stepping to the A1!
This is something else!
A7R5❤❤❤
might give us a surprise with medium format camera
福島県の達沢不動滝と浄土平のスカイラインが出てきたのがビックリ
福島県民として本当に嬉しく思います
I wonder when the detachable LCD will come🖐🏻😎
I dont need any camera because I'm finished my money. But it's interesting to see that every months there's a new release of something
Why this crazy dominant background music ?
For video is the A7R V better than A7S III?
This looks very promising! As a Nikon user and looking for an upgrade. It's between this and Nikon Z9. Any thoughts in comparison?
Depends on what you are shooting. The Z9 is amazing. The A1 is a beast in a small package. More amazing wildlife lenses for the Nikon.
@@tols007 The Z9 is chunky for sure, but I carry it all over and don't really notice to much aches and pains after awhile
I hope it's gonna be the new ZV-E10. Considering buying it or DJI Pocket 3.
I just want a RX 10 V.
Same here bro! 5 years overdue!
+1 🤗
Sony is actually on Fire.
I just wish they would make their phones smarter and more simple.
I hope it a7000 😘
I wish!
I bet it’s the A7R V not the a7000… or maybe both? 🤔
YESSS A NEW BIG CAMERA A7R V - GOOOOOOD JOB SONY - I LOVE YOU
With this Beast out, I can probably afford to buy the A7III
Alpha a7rV 🏄
Sony A7R V coming next week! Same sensor, but 8K video and AI autofocus. Am I right?
other processor
@@EffiZiens It's true, more resolution and with AI
show me the A7C mk2😀
