- The Florida Linebacker stops by our studio to talk about the full-time life of a college athlete, as well as the amazing life experiences he's had off the field through the Gator Made program.
Derek also educates Paul on why hopes are much higher for the Gators' 2024 season down in Gainesville than they are in the national media, and the transformation the program has seen over the last year.
A great representative for the Gators. So educated and well-spoken and respectful . All Gators should be ultra proud of Derek Wingo.
Very intelligent young man. Speaks well and very respectful
Character and class. One of my favorite Gators! Go be great, Wingo!
I’m Very impressed with this young man and he truly represents “ Gator Nation “.
Very intelligent young man. I'm very impressed with Wingo and after this interview I have nothing but respect for him.
I could not be anymore proud to call him a Gator! 🧡💙
Awesome Gator with a bright future on and off the field. Prayers up for Derek as he continues to lead and flourish. Gratitude is a key differentiator.
Impressive, well spoken and down to earth young man. Derek ,went to St. Thomas Aquinas, the football powerhouse in Ft. Lauderdale. Quality person with a bright future.
I could see him having his own show on ESPN with how he speaks.
I’ve been a fan of Wingo since he was being recruited out of high school. He represents UF so well you can’t help but be proud of him.
Yup. DWingo is a great role model for all kids and I’m proud he’s a Gator
He speaks with such properness. What a stud! I hope you make it in whatever avenue you decide to slide down! Go gators!
A well-rounded young man
Handsome guy, well spoken…you can take his place now, Derek !
Very impressive young man! All aroubd great person!
Great job, Derek. I see future in-depth commentating and/or coaching in your future! Bright kid.
Derek may not make it the NFL as a player, but everything else is open to him. He is a joy to listen to in every interview that he has done.
He will after this year relax hater.
@@Freshy_Jones As a Gator fan I'm telling the truth.
@@Freshy_JonesDamn you dumb, Wingo isn't even a SEC level starter.
@@Freshy_Jones it’s called constructive criticism based off film, stats and the resume that has been built.
Dude didn’t say anything negative about DWingo but you immediately go to making insults like a child would.
DWingo has a future in corporate america, media or coaching. Maybe he’ll have a future in the NFL but he’d need a major breakout season this year to do so.
There’s nothing wrong with being a solid college player who ends up not playing in the NFL but making a great future for themselves elsewhere.
He could end up being a solid backup or special teams player but we have to see what he does this year.
Great young man. I think his suit self destructed after the interview. He does not skip the weight room!
Impressive in every way. What more can I say.
future is bright for bro, cool calm and collected.
Wingo gets really misrepresented in ter s of how he is looked at as a player. He's much better than most ppl think or know. The fact of the matter is. ... he has remained constantly injured. This guy was a awesome recruit but, unfortunately he has been plagued with injuries. I hope he gets a chance this year to stay healthy and show what he's got.
I love it! Let's go¡!!!!????
If Napier develops men of character like Mertz and Wingo he raises the profile of UF in ways that surpass sports.
His history at ULL indicates that’s his intention
I hope he got the starting job.
Bust
Bro sounds like a frat boy at a job interview with all of that boiler plate.
