my Quantum Q6 Edge 2 has enough power to take me several miles & return and have power to spare. The sidewalk cracks slow me down to P3, but returning I take the smoother street at P4 or fly in P5. Don't know th weight of the chair but I am 144kilos.This Quantum is at least 10 years old!
I appreciate the real commentary. I don't get much choice in my chair but good to know the good and bad points. First time trial I don't really even know what's to look for and what I need/will find annoying. Your videos are very helpful in the process
yea first time around it can be a bit of a crap shoot- BUT the second chair gives ya a chance to dial things in a bit more! i always tell people, if you ever take your chair outside, or go to the store in it, or really leave the house at all, make sure you get something with at least Group 34 batteries.. (or the biggest ones group 24 - either is fine) a lot of chairs nowadays have the NF-22 batteries.. and they're VERY small.. not only is the range pretty bad, but they wear out and need to be replaced a lot more often. BUT if you only use it to run around indoors, and dont need to go any distances, the smaller NF-22 will work fine. SOMETHING is always better than NOTHING! :^) stay safe out there!
I've had an Edge 2.0 with Qlogic 2 and iLevel for a few years now. It's my first powerchair. I live in Australia where it's hot. I've never had the chair thermal throttle on a hill or particularly hot day (or ever for that matter). I've run out of battery though a few times. Looking to get a new Permobil M5.
You guys have made the most useful video I have ever seen ! Everyone I know with a Q6 edge can only go about 1 mile before the batteries are dead in the red. The sales reps claim the Q6 will easily go 10 miles in a day. They went silent when I asked "is that 10 miles on a single charge?" The flytraps opened but no sound came out. A railtrail like you guys road on or sidewalk is the most likely place a wheelchair user will go. Not trying to cross river beds or up a flight of stairs. You guys did a fantastic job of documenting the truth about the limits of these chairs. Thank You very much. Fantastic, Fantastic , Fantastic !
I have a quantum chair I've had it for two years little over two years. It's not only good for indoors but it's also great for outdoors I go everywhere in the summer and my quantum wheelchair. I love my chair and it takes me everywhere. Something you might want to just remember is that the batteries will be good for like 15 miles or so until you've drivin it a few times and then the batteries won't go as far as most wheelchairs. I do like your video though. You guys look like you were having fun, just thought I'd let you know about my experience with my quantum chair. And when you'll get the lift up when your inch seat goes up it's Eddie there's an idiot proof I won't let you go more than D1.I am getting a new quantum wheelchair it's an edge 2 Q6 and I can hardly wait.
i was looking around quantums website.. they still sell ALL the older chair models! im not quite sure why.. but they kinda remind me of Samsung and their 57 models of phones that are available! haha
@@TotallyNormal-Front-wheel-drive chairs are supposedly smoother over things like expansion joints in sidewalks for other issues that can make 6 mph driving on sidewalks feel bumpy and unsafe. Even bicycle lanes seem to have less bumps. You find that the case with your front wheel drive chairs? see ruclips.net/video/XkfpcrOCQTY/видео.html
haha thats my other channel! yea depends on the chair and the suspension its got. BUT the F-series permobils do have much better suspension than the other versions used to
A quick note I have a QM 710, with over 5000km. Extreme driving would not begin too describe how I have driven in less than 3 years. Running the chair at full speed almost every moment im in drive and treating it like a rally car. I will try to get a semi professional video, if someone can keep up with me for 10km of what would be considered formula 1 and rally cross driving around west Vancouver near George Pearson Center. FYI slowing down for intersections and terrain changes is just plain rookie
The Q6000z I had was such a lemon I dont ever want another Quantum chair. Can you believe all of the electronics were replaced at least once plus the front leg rest assembly was replaced three times.
Took my first long ride downtown in my Quantum 6 2.0 today... I was really impressed with the power it had on the hills... Got 7.2 mi with 64% battery left... Now to wire in some lighting which I will use another one of your videos to help me with!!! You are becoming a staple in my life right now LOL
Totally Normal honestly dude I'm kind of like you figuring it out myself and customizing it in my own way is half the fun. But I'll definitely check out your kid and if it seems to be an easier and more financially prudent option I will definitely go that way
Well, it's 2019 now, & they just recommended this chair for my 76 year old mom... I don't think that she'll be using it nearly as rough as you wild men! 😂 But thanks for showing it in action!
I have a Q6 edge 1.0 for about 3yrs now... Which I did more research before I got my chair! The chair powers down/power reduction at certain inclines and on different terrain like grassy hills of dirt trail! Veryyy annoying.... Indoor use is great but battery life is 😵
The Permobile has a special patented Mid-Drive-Tire that doesn't use air but a special jell, which makes it much better than air filled tires for several reasons. They are actually more of a ture radial raiding tire ride, These tire are flat-free as well and makes it ride real well. These are great and much better in every way than a standard flat free × 10 or more which gives you the absorption you're looking for. Gives you better traction as well. You will be pleasantly surprised. That F3 likely has them? Cost not sure?😊
Around the time they stopped selling the C500 Permobil switched to the rock-hard primo powertrax tires.. BUT they have a new version of the tires you’re talking about! They’re called the Permobil aggressive tread tires - they have the much softer foam that allows the tires to flare a bit on the contact patch and greatly improve the ride quality! Buildmywheelchair.com sells them in gel, and air filled variants. I highly recommend the gel/foam filled ones.
I have a TDX SP Invacare mid-wheel drive chair I’ve gone up an incline hill at a neighborhood park and handled it fine I’ve only had one issue with it one winter it stalled due to the cold weather but that’s the joys of living in Northern Illinois
I've had one for almost 3 years and have a love/hate relationship with it. It's very comfortable but VERY squirrely. Even at low indoor speeds it is extremely jerky. I've had it reprogrammed a few times but always have similar results. I think the issue lies within the casters. They tend to get caught up and not want to move the direction you are trying to go.
Well I wish I could've tested it beforehand like your buddy Dave and I would've probably found a better fit lol. The Q6 works for now I just break more stuff and scrape more walls lol.
Hi thank you so much for sharing this video. I have watched it a few times now, watched it before my father received his and now a few times since he’s had it. This chair has so many pros and cons I’m just not to sure if my father is operating it totally correct. The other night my father went face down into the street right in front of his driveway, I just don’t understand how this chair could have dumped Him out so easily therefore I’m trying to make sure he’s not operating it in correctly or learn tips to teach him to ensure this doesn’t happen again, thank goodness my mother notice he hadn’t came back in the house yet 😬 thank god my husband n son’s were home at the time, we are right around the corner so we could get over to their home quickly to get him up out of the street. I have so many questions, but yet the manual isn’t so easy to find the answers in. Thank you again.
they're not available in the US unfortunately... havent been able to find a source for them at all :^/ BUT you can use a SMALL neodymium (rare earth magnet) magnet instead of the switch to get by for a while.. ya just wave the magnet on the side of the joystick where the paddle used to be and it'll actuate the functions :^) or if you still have the toggle, ya can stick it back on temporarily to change speeds (assuming its not totally smashed)
Oh so these are more like INDOOR wheelchairs. I was looking to get one of these. I currently have a jazzy pride but the remote is very squirrely & it has no tilt and rise feature. However it does get around long distances without the battery running down. It's just missing the other two features I mentioned.
Another Awesome video! A fully decked out quantum edge 2.0 came up around here but now that I see this, its pretty much not for me with that kind of range.
Glad I saw this seems it wouldn’t be a good upgrade for me I have a invacare bora atm and want to upgrade to a more suspension ride and and a smaller Turning circle the permobil chairs seems popular but aren’t readily available used here in the uk The permobil front drive in video looked petryfying on the slope haha
+ Totally Normal Not sure if you'll see this or not. I'm interested in what chair your friend ended up going with after getting the opportunity to demo the Q6 Edge 2.0 and those other chairs AND how he likes whatever chair he ended up going with ? What chair DID he end up going with anyway? I've just recently gotten a Q6 Edge 2.0 but I sort of got "stuck" with it as in they really didn't pay attention to my concerns during the selection process. Some of the major issues I brought up when first talking about a new chair were battery capacity, speed, etc. When I found out the Edge 2.0 had Group 22NF batteries I was NOT happy. My concerns were not addressed. I was also told I could buy a programmer out of pocket so I could make my own changes when I wanted to and not have to wait for someone to come out and make them for me. However, low and behold when the chair was delivered, there was no programmer. I was told the manufacturer had changed their policy and now only a certain number of programmers were issued and registered to to each vendor by serial number and they were NOT allowed to sell programmers to end users. I have no doubt I was told what I wanted to hear just to make the sale. I'm worried because my situation will be changing and while the chair MAY meet my needs for now (range wise etc), soon however it probably will not. Hearing those kind numbers for range really scares me. I have to wonder if the batteries on that demo were new and had they been cycled a number of times to reach their full capacity (if there's really anything to that whole thing with breaking in new batteries.) Also, do you have a preference between Gel an AGM Anyway, if you get this, thanks or any insights or thoughts you might have and I enjoy the channel.
hey hey! i usually review the comments several times per day - my friend wound up getting the new Permobil M3 - the batteries in his demo unit were new - and hadn't been cycled yet.. but from my past experience, the smaller 22NF batteries don't gain much range after cycling unfortunately.. BUT they do charge back up Quick! an hour of charge actually gets a decent boost - but not helpful unless you have time to stop and charge.. the situation with vendors and programmers is crazy! I dont understand why they feel the need to so heavily control them out in the wild.. and they're crazy expensive if you do manage to find one to buy! on batteries - GEL or AGM - depends on your use.. I usually recommend AGM, just because most chargers arent setup to properly charge GEL batteries - gel can have a longer lifespan in a smaller, lighter chair, but without the proper specific charger, their life will be cut drastically shorter. also GEL batteries can't put out high amounts of current - like big hill climbs etc very well. AGM are less finicky with charging, and can handle high amperage situations much better - here's some more info on the subject.... www.wheelchairdriver.com/AGM-GEL.htm IMO however, i always recommend AGM for most people and situations feel free to DM me on twitter anytime if ya wanna chat! I am about to buy a new wheelchair (my current one is Pride J6 which is an indoor chair). I want a wheelchair that is small enough that I can easily drive in my small condo, but at the same time allows me to drive outside for zoos, parks, etc. I also need the recline and seat elevating features. I did some research and think either Permobil M3 or Quantum Edge 3.0 might be suitable for my situation. From what I've researched, Permobil M3 has better build quality, better battery life, better recline range ; Quantum Edge 3 offers more customization/ configurations and is overall smaller than M3 (comparing by their tech specs). My local wheelchair dealers all seem to prefer offering me Quantum chair rather than Permobil, not sure why. Not sure if you can give me some advice here...
hey! well.. the quantum chairs are cheaper for the insurance companies to buy.. and a lot of times they have 'deals' setup with certain vendors - and they just get everyone into a specific type of chair that comes thru the door. not that its a bad thing, unless they try to stick ya in something that doesn't meet the persons needs. BUT from what ive been seeing, the edge 3 finally has a bigger battery option! - you'll want to stay away from any chair with NF-22 or Group 22 batteries in it. those are the small ones that have VERY short range. haven't seen the edge 3 in person.. BUT the edge 2 was definitely an indoor chair. permobil might be slightly bigger dimensions, but they are usually a lot better an indoor / outdoor use, and can handle booth quite well. hope this helps a little!
@@TotallyNormal- Thanks for your quick reply! I just checked the Quantum Edge 3 spec, and it still uses NF-22 batteries? Permobil M3 supports Group 24 and 34 batteries. I didn't know that Quantum chairs are cheaper ... I've never tried Permobil chairs before, but I did hear that they got better build quality and driving range than Quantum chairs do. I'll have to think about it and evaluate all the pros and cons...
Love your videos! I have Q6 Edge which I inherited from my older sister, have driven over 1000 hard miles the past year with lots of outdoor use. I drive top speed most of the time. Replaced both left and right motor and gearbox once and I think they went bad from crashing the wheelchair which causes wheels, motor and gears to instantly stop. Was able to find refurbished motors on eBay for $125 and installed myself. Battery range seemed fine until recently and I don't know if that is simply due to age. I believe all parts were original from when sister received chair new several years ago. Original batteries are MK BATGEL1008 24v 55ah and I was wondering if these are best battery I put in this chair?
nice work!! yea there's enough of these chairs out there that parts are somewhat attainable! i always stick with the MK Power batteries if at all possible.. anything else significantly drops off in range, and how long they'll last. just remember itll take a week or 2 of regular use to get the new batteries up to their maximum range :^) (also try not to drain them more than 50% dead within the first week of daily use and charge every night, all night!)
Hello, I need an orientation, I have a Q6edge2.0 with Qlogic3 controller. However, it does not start when calling, it only informs in the “CONFIGURING NETWORK” panel and does not go beyond that. If you can help me, I will be grateful. And unfortunately here in Brazil, the only authorized Quantum / Pride. There is no information. I contacted Pride and nothing has changed. Thank you
I've been looking at these kind of chairs and have found some on ebay that seem to be pretty reasonably priced but I'm wondering if it might not be a good idea to buy one if they can't be inspected in person. Would you buy one without being able to inspect it first?
Just received my q6 Edge 6 2nd gen love it 6.2 mph max 4.6 mph reclinde custom everything &32,000 price tag Medicaid payed $9 thousand and Medicare payed 23 thousand thank god I wouldn't been able too buy it I can get a fucking truck for the same price or cheaper lol but I love my chair maybe 28 miles on a full battery but going 6.2 shit it don't matter where I need to go. Got mine through Stall's Medical they had to built it for me. Took 2 month's but that's because of the Corona bullshit they are nice people and a very professional company check them out peace my Cripps
i just got a EDGE 3 back on DEC. 27 2018, i am loving it so far, have almost 30 miles on my chair, have gone the max 6 MPH on this chair, that baby is quick
Can I ask How it is that your chair can go 6 mph but other people can only go 4 mph? Which model do you have and I’m wondering if you had to give up other features in order to get to 6 mph or did you have someone else, after market, program the chair to go faster than factory specs? Can I ask how going six miles per hour reduced your range please? I thank you for any help you can give me. Oh, and have you had a problem with your batteries? Or do you mainly just putter around the house?? Actually, I thought the guys n the vid were rather tame compared to me, it seems. I ride my chair like a wild horse LOL. It doesn’t shut down when tackling inclines or declines or rough roads. It’s just either can handle it or not. If not, I just back up and try different route, ha ha. I figure if I’m going to be stuck in a chair I’m going to have fun doing it! The last thing I want is to have a chair that is boring. I’m 70 years old and I wanna rock every chance I get. Can anyone else who happens to read this give me some feedback about any chair they like over the Quantum six?
Hello. Enjoy your videos very informative. I’m right in the middle of trying to decide whether to get a perm mobile M5 or the quantum one you guys just test it out in this video. I got to try the M5 and found that it went through rougher terrain really really well. I did try a quantum front wheel drive but couldn’t handle how I felt even just in my apartment. What is your opinion about her mobile versus pride mobility. My concern is wanting a chair that’s not going to need lots of maintenance. I’m planning on getting one that’s fully loaded with power tilt, recline, elevate, and power foot rests. I have a neuromuscular disability called spinal muscular atrophy. I will need some adaptations to be able to use my joystick and drive the chair. As well as severe scoliosis, and have been assured that they can come up with CD that is suitable. For decades I have been using Invacare storm, basically anything Invacare. Rear wheel drive. Just want to try The centre wheel type chair. And I’m really curious about per mobile. Any advice and input you would have would be appreciated thank you very much and thank you for your videos. Take care.😊
i prefer permobil chairs... a lot of the quantum chairs have pretty small batteries, and thus not a whole lot of range :^/ also for adaptive controls - permobil uses the R-Net control system, and IMO there are a lot more options for alternative drives
It would seem that version 2.0, is not as durable as the first model, which I have. Yet, I lost a bogie wheel shaft and bearing, have only Group 22 batteries, and yes it is slower than most at 5.4 KPH. Still, I am sorry to see that they have reengineered it to be even more poorly. I was hoping to repurchase a new one soon. This one is almost 8 years old now. Looks like I better do more research.
@@TotallyNormal- I understand that you can get "group 24" batteries, but how can they fit 2 "group 34" batteries in the same space? Makes no sense to me, to get the smaller batteries then. No, I think you would get 1 group 34 battery, instead of 2, because of space limits. I wanted group 24 batteries anyway.
i think its the "hd" versions of the chairs that have the bigger battery option.. the frames are a bit different.. I'd have to check the order forms to be sure though which models have the option..
@@TotallyNormal- I think you are probably right. I didn't take the difference in models, and I'm sure I have just the base model Q6 from 8 years ago. I'm replacing it soon.
Hay man I have been watching your videos ever since I needed a Mobility device. The V.A. has ordered me what I think is a Quantum edge 3 with tilt, leg extension and eye level . I am having trouble finding Video content on the pro's and cons of this device, Mostly because Marc's mobility has monopolized the Genre on you tube. I really liked this video even though it was a Edge 2 the length and steepness of the hills you climbed was a bit difficult to Judge and I was concerned about the battery life on the quantum edge 2 Y'all were testing out as well as the Heat lock out? Do you have much experience with the Quantum line and specifically the Edge 3? Thank you.
I got a Q6 Edge 3.0 with I-level in May of 2023. On my third set of batteries in October and second set of motors because it killed on a 4 degree incline and backed into traffic. They said the motors were mismatched. I am getting only 2.1-2.3mph before it reaches 50% and then drains at lightning speed. Left me stalled twice and had to call the FD. So angry I’m about to contact FTC for deceptive trade practice. No way this chair gets anywhere near 18 miles per charge. I feel like I’m tethered to a leash like a dog and can take it nowhere past the 1.2 mile mark or I struggle to get it home. So many more issues but it’s been the worst experience thus far. Quantum has zero QC IMHO. Wish I would’ve found this vlog before I got talked into a Quantum as my first PWC. Personally, I think there’s a short somewhere but they keep replacing batteries…like putting a tiny bandaid on an artery bleed. If anyone can help diagnose the problem I would really appreciate a comment because now that the 5 figure sticker shock price has been paid, they’re all suddenly in a stupor! Never again!
filing a MAUDE complaint with the FDA is a good thing to do as well www.fda.gov/medical-devices/medical-device-safety/medical-device-reporting-mdr-how-report-medical-device-problems
Jus got my q edge 3 today but sadly didn't come with the led light but still very nice selling my old one that I've had since 2014 for $500 its a q edge 2
I dont gey it. Why would an ebike have so much more torque? Im probably wrong, but i can climb. Up very steep trails on my ebike without peddling. Plus it does 30mph
Hello! I am transitioning my 13year old son from a manual chair to a power chair. Spastic quad. CP. He's trialed the Quantum Q6 Edge (and but I'm just not sold on it. I was wondering if you would have any advice on the permobile m3. We trialed the Quantum for about 3 weeks, my son was getting the hang of the joystick... except going backwards, that's going to take a little time. I just don't want to order a chair and then hate it and be stuck with it for 5+ years. Any information would be greatly appreciated!😊
I definitely prefer the permobil chairs over the quantum edge series... they seem to have better build quality, and can handle more abuse than these edge series chairs.. :^)
I’m getting a Q6 Edge, how does it do on tight turns? I’m going from a Quickie 2 with Emotion wheels that I haven’t been able to push for myself in 4 years, so I’m excited for the independence again. But I’m moving into an apartment that has a tight turn to get into the bedroom, so I’m concerned. It took so long to even find a complex that had buildings that were wheelchair accessible 😑 I’m finally moving away from home, now that I’m getting this wheelchair. It’s too bad that it doesn’t do that well outside, but considering what I’ve been dealing with the past 4 years, I’m just happy I’ll have control over my own body again. Thank you so much for doing this review!
the power base is fairly small on these chairs, so depending on the length of the foot plates, ya should be able to get around in smaller-ish spaces ok.. but mid wheel chairs can turn on their own axis.. so they usually work well. I prefer front wheel drive chairs for small spaces... but they're not as easy to use with head arrays / sip n puff systems.. they require a bit more technique to maneuver around. hope that helps somewhat.. lol
the way its setup, iLevel mechanically locks out the suspension to make the chair a bit more stable.. but trust me - ya dont wanna go faster than it's programmed with the seat lift raised all the way! :^)
quantum was recommended to me and already only 2 minutes into the video, I'm not interested. I had a Jazzy years ago and I had that annoying fluttering rear casters when going down grade. It's 2019 and they STILL haven't fixed that problem? I owned that Jazzy over 15 years ago!
What are the different types of chairs in use based on the trial course you went on can you rate them for me? What types of disabilities were the drivers? I've tested a Quantum, Quickie QM710 and rear wheel drive Jive R² (all in the same price range). I also, like the look of the ROVI brand. Any thoughts and recommendations would be appreciated. Cheers in advance.
hey! I was in my amysystems chair, and the other 2 were using permobil F3 chairs. the QM710 i haven't had a chance to check out yet - but would like to! that particular trail, the F3 chairs do ok.. but front wheel drive isn't ideal for steep hills like that. I personally like the ROVI - might be the next chair I get :^) what type of user are you? indoor mostly? outdoors a lot? trails etc..?
I'm a C5/6 Quad and I use a power assist wheelchair. I'm looking at maybe transitioning to a powered chair. I want a chair that's good inside, but, plan to use it outside. Obviously, cost will be an issue as the powers that be will only go to a certain amount. The Q6 and the QM710 are in the right price range. I like the looks of the ROVI and i'm interested in the Permobil M3. I tried a rear wheel drive hoping it would be more comfortable, but I was disappointed to find out the contrary. Cheers for your response
yea the m3 is pretty universal.. they fit indoors well, and they also do well outside.. dont have to worry about steep hills as much.. the q6 edge has fairly small batteries, so you wont have much range... - an M3 or the ROVI in my opinion are probably the best ones right now if i was getting a new chair myself :^) but you gotta try as many as ya can! a lot of dealers will let ya try out demo chairs now, and sometimes even overnight!
try flipping the brake levers a few times, and power cycling.. sometimes they get dirt in there - but the motors might be having issues as well.. probably need to visit a DME shop to get it sorted out though :^/
my BRAND NEW chair did the same thing right off - and they've replaced the motors twice now :^/ it sounds like an actual motor issue to me...or MAYBE a connector that's not plugged in all the way.. the connectors are kinda buried on these quantums though...
i wonder how the Q6 2.0 motors hold up long term.? i have a Rival rwd by Quantum. i have had both motors replaced because the drive gears broke when it was less than a year old. now i have ordered 2 more for the same breakage. on your vid i too would like to know more about the unstable steering. i hate crossing a threshold in my Rival. i cant get a new chair for 2 more years because of insurance. several people recommend the Q6 for an outside chair.. i will be looking at going mid wheel drive for sure. should i go Permobile M3 or M5 .?
unfortunately when they design these chairs and motors/gearboxes.. they're only concerned with people moving around INSIDE their homes.. since that's all insurance will pay for - and also most of their business comes from insurance companies - so they started designing and building things that aren't very robust - after seeing how tiny the motors are on the new Q6 chairs.. id probably stay away.. the less material they're built with, the less heat dissipation occurs, and less mechanical rigidity there will be = wears out faster - time will tell on these new chairs! the unstable steering we think was from the joystick being SUPER sensitive - probably just a learning curve the M5 has a taller available seat elevator, as well as 7.5 (or 8 cant remember) mph motors my friend in the video is getting his new M3 today as we speak! time will tell on all these chairs.. but id defiantly stay away from quantum if you ever go outside, or travel any distances. I've acquired a few sets of motors from the M3 and M5 chairs to play around with - and they seem to be quite robust in their construction! - also all the new permobil chairs have ESP stabilization as a standard feature - though youll probably need to have the chair tuned a bit - out of the box they're not always setup for performance *for now* id recommend the M5 or even the M3 if you want a mid-wheel drive - hopefully their long term reliability doesn't prove me wrong! lol good luck!
Have you tried putting your joystick post between 2 fingers and all the way to your palm? then move your whole hand not just your fingers. It helps you rest your fingers and have greater control when you're going fast.
sorry for the delay - he said his physical therapist made it from some moldable plastic.. some sorta stuff you heat up, and then bend and it holds its shape... not sure of the name of the stuff.. they just had it lying around apparently

Buy a invacare storm GB motor REAR WHEEL DRIVE for christ sakes. They still make them. I get way more range and never never get stuck and jump curbs. Don't need curb cutouts. And there is no hill this thing won't go up.. I don't get why anyone would drive a 6 wheel (get stuck all day chair). they should totally get away from pole motors aswell period. And work on Gearless Brushless technology and Lipo batteries
why wouldn't ya wanna use the FIRST battery technology ever made? big hunks of heavy lead, and ACID under you seat.. haha. the stuff they're STILL selling nowadays confuses me...
@@xGwadx it could be because lipo battery's can ignight and burn due to damage. Tesla's that catch fire can kill the occupants before they can get out of the vehicle from the gas those battery's produce, certainly a Tesla cell bank or two should be evaluated, for wheel chairs.
He didn't get this chair... Did he? I've mentioned before that I have an old q6 edge right now and I definitely wouldn't get it again. I've been stuck in too many places
@@HellonWheels777 I'm on Medicaid and I are there about to get me a q6 edge 3. Hopefully it works for me. I will definitely be using it to go grocery shopping often. As far as I know I don't have a selection choice.
I have both the original and the recently purchased edge 2.0 and noticed that the new 2.0's have these long black skinny motors with these tiny yellow free wheel thumb levers, where as the original Q6's have big freewheel levers that clunk into drive using your whole hand and have massive motors with gearboxes to match... They have also made the outrigger caster arms lighter and tighter to the classy, where as the original Q has all of its outrigger caster arms made out of heavy bent 2" steel tubing that reach out further in front and back.
the Edge 3 can be ordered with larger batteries.. and they've made a few changes.. dont have all the details.. but at least its got the ability to to have better range!
I had the original edge for years and the range was awful! There were some days where it couldn't even get through my school day. It was pretty embarrassing to have to have someone bring my manual chair because my range sucks. My edge 3 managed to get me 11.6 miles before it died when I really pushed it, and I'm pretty sure that was with standard batteries. I think they only come with the group 24 batteries but I know they have interceptor batteries on their website that are supposed to add extra range. I might buy them when I have more places to go. Lol
@@TotallyNormal- , yes the wheels rotate, but wont move straight back, the wheels either moves left or right in reverse, not straight back. I want to move straight back without moving left or right. You know straight backwards?
the little castor wheels shouldn't get stuck.. they usually flip around the other direction, and then straighten out after ya start moving in any direction.. if theyre getting stuck, there could be a bearing issue or something like that preventing them from being able to flip around freely.. but hard to tell exactly whats going on without seeing it in person :^/
@@TotallyNormal- , they aren't stuck, I said in previous comments they freely rotate. You know when you back up a car in reverse it goes straight back, my wheel chair wont.
something not right then.. there's no different backing up 'modes' or anything like that. unless the chair was setup for someone with limited hand movement, or the joystick was programed to be mounted at an angle, or the joystick gimbal is broken etc.. in any event, it should to go to a dealer to get checked out..
I have a Quantum q6 edge electric wheelchair and I'm stuck in a mode on my joystick. The chair won't move and the battery is fully charged but the speed number is flashing. The chairs seat still reclines and it fully on level ground. Can anyone help me get moving
theres a number of things that can cause the issue.. but i'd start with checking the brake levers. turn the chair off, have someone flip the brake levers a few times on each side, and see if that makes any change
What do you like about it? I am getting a Q6 thru the VA but that is all I know about it. I know I want a chair that can go at least 6 mph. Hmm, maybe 7 1/2 Might better. But, I don’t know what other features I would have to give up in order to get that? If you could give me some feedback, I’d be grateful. I’m wondering how fast your chair goes and for how long it can maintain that speed. Also, I wonder what kind of terrain you can go over and still feel safe doing it? I don’t want to be an imposition on you so if you feel put upon, just tell me to F off. I’m a formerly active Marine so I should be able to handle it Okay, LOL. If anyone reading this wants to help out a fellow crip, I would be sincerely appreciative! Thanks!
Hey there my name is Bear, And I myself am in a wheelchair, The dilema I am in is I own and operate a Fly in Hunting and Fishing Lodge way up in Northern Canada, And where I am there is no roads no nothing I am in the middle of no where off grid, And I been contacting people to build a chair for me that can go off road not a side walk runner even if it were gas powered I would not mind, And if I could ever find some 1 to build it with me or on there own, Would make life so much easier instead of having to use my quads or my can am side by sides, They are great an all but they are meant to go get customers moose deer or bear and caribou they shot, Then I could help all the other people out there by offering them something that they can use like they did when they could walk, like go fishing and hunting o r even get out with there family and go on hikes, I no so many people that want to do things in the outdoors but think life is over because they feel there is no way to do things anymore besides maybe going to a coffee place or something, which I do not have food comes form mother nature where I am I need to go out and get a moose bear and so on to survive the winter for myself and my son , I always have the outlook that what I want to do I just find another way of getting around how to do it, I still fly an operate my float planes and trap and guide, I get a very shocked look when I go pick up new customers coming to hunt or fish and they cannot figure for the lie of them how I do it and have such a great success for my customers to get there trophy s and have that unforgettable adventure they remember for life , And listening to you and what you do You seem to be that very ambitious independent man that doesn't look at himself as disabled but finds ways of getting around it and just figuring out a way to get it done what ever it may be, I have seen some 4x4 wheelchairs on the internet and I have tried the tank chair, thing was great and all and I thought I had it made could go through any amount of snow or mud that my quads would but unfortunately they were like the others worked great for a few hours until tracks broke or axles always was something, If you sound interested would like to talk if you would as well, I can leave you my email and phone number if you would like to get in contact with each other and maybe between the both of us we can figure out something that could work for us and also help others looking for the same but not at the price of buying a new car or truck, I apologize for the length of this nut would look forward to hearing back from you, Bear.
hey! yea the tank chairs are interesting.. but you're right.. anything with tracks is a maintenance nightmare! send me a message on twitter and we can chat! sounds like an awesome facility up there!! twitter.com/messages/compose?recipient_id=296285539
Look online at the product from “Cajun Mobility”. I know these folks and they are solid as well as having a unique product that allows handicapped hunters to return to the woods. You are welcome to use my name.. I think they like me. Steve Boyte, Louisiana
@@TotallyNormal-are there any models that get more than 2.1 miles before it hits the 50% kill on a dime mark? So frustrated with my Q6 3.0. Supposed to get 18 mile range on a single charge. Mines brand new (have tilt, recline and level) and this company really sucks! deceptive marketing IMHO
damn that was fun watching you guys! I'm sitting here old and fat old broad in a jazzy HD, big whoop. And yeah, i totally agree that they're making these chairs to ONLY go inside a house. They don't give a wet squat if we need to get outside and DO anything. Nice, eh? Anyhow, cool video, I really enjoyed it. Even if it IS over a year old, lmao. Oh well I'm always bringing in the rear
Oh I know, I have an old q6 Edge that I got second hand. Unfortunately, it's been the nicest chair I've had but it's still terrible because I'm 21 and like to do my fair share of running around and my chair doesn't cope with that. I was hoping they would get better with the q6 Edge 2 for the sake of everybody that uses them, but I wouldn't get another quantum chair to save my life. It's just not for me. It's for someone who does the opposite of what I like to do with my chair. Sit around and use it indoors. Sometimes I think that the insurance companies and everything else that's supposed to be working for the benefits of disabled people don't really see us as humans that want to go out and have lives, but as parasites that should be locked away. I guess that's just because I'm constantly arguing with them over things that I need to be independent. God forbid a cripple wants to be able to go out in public and maybe even **GASP** go outside and enjoy nature! I'm sorry you've been dealing with all the Medicare crap, I've not heard good things about them and I'm on Medicaid myself and I have to deal with quite a lot of bulshit to get anything covered. I imagine our experiences are a lot alike.
yea a lot of the chairs are guided by insurance companies wanting things to be lighter, and cheaper.. as a result we get things like the Quantum edge series.. small batteries and terrible range. great for indoor use.. but thats all. i am however very interested in checking out the new quantum 4 front.. it has LARGE batteries, and maybe good suspension? im scheduling a demo to go and check it out. the OLD permobil C500, and quantum 6000Z chairs were tanks! they just dont build them like that anymore.. BUT it seems like permobil is starting to turn around.. at least their newer chairs actually have a frame now! insurance companies were only interested in "mobility inside the home" and thats frustrating.. and results in products that are flat out dangerous to use outdoors. or even on sidewalks, and crossing busy streets! I really hope things keep changing for the better.... good luck out there!
Nearing the end of my 5 years with my q6 edge. It's had every harness at least once 3 joysticks front 1 rear 2 motors a seat frame foot rests 3 times arm rests 3 rt side 2 left 2 miles is the furthest it's gone
Sounds like me and you got the same crappy chairs bc my chair has has 3 joysticks on front 3 motors now on each side, I level broke, legs wouldn't work after a month, new casters put on all 4 wheels and the company had the wheelchair in their shop longer than I've owned it... ☆"I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS WHEELCHAIR TO ANYONE"!☆
I absolutely hate the chair. I've had it for just over a year now but mostly only able to use it inside the house. Why? Because it gets stuck on everything outside. It even spins tires and refuses to come back into the house if the tires are even damp. There is an ada threshold ramp at the door and still won't go over it if slightly damp. Piece of junk unless you just want to stay on a smooth sidewalk or are a mall hopper. JUNK
I I level power chair i love have it but the power battery 🔋 doesn’t last very long then day it of just want new chair so bad I have to wait until September 2025😂😂
IMO the Q6 Edge 2 basically a toy - indoor only. The small Group 22 batteries are a deal breaker. Not only do they have less range than standard sized Group 24 batteries, but their lower capacity means the depth of discharge for the relatively same amount of use is greater. The greater the depth of discharge per use means shortened cycle life. So they have less capacity AND have a shorter service life. Who in their right mind wants that??? Your buddy mentions in the Alexa call that his Permobil chair(I believe) had "crappy Duracell batteries." Now I'm not sure sure which ones he's referring to, but Duracell does have a Group 24 gel battery in its line up. Its the exact same battery as an MK Group 24 gel. Both are made by East Penn Manufacturing, and just branded differently. Also sold under the Deka brand. These are all the same battery on the inside. www.mkbattery.com/images/M24SLDG.pdf www.batteriesplus.com/battery/sla-sealed-lead-acid/12/durg12=70p www.dcbattery.com/deka_8g24.html They may vary a bit on the shell appearance or terminal style etc, but those are all essentially the same exact battery and all are manufactured by East Penn Manufacturing and just sold under different brands. Just FYI. Get whichever you can get the cheapest!
yea im not sure if "Duracell" has changed their manufacturing contract in past years or whatnot, but the ones ive had more recently from them seem just fine - i had a set years ago that were super crappy.. but not a very big sample size to really make any determination from ;^) i think mostly he meant "off brand" - the ones he had before were UPG or something like that.. BUT ive got a set of Duracell grp24's (74 Ah) and been ridin them hard now for over 2 years! (not every day use - but they still work!) Also, I think some of the older/smaller straight "gel" batteries - NOT AGM - wind up getting their life cut short by improper charging techniques - as they require a very specific bulk, and float charge voltage that 'universal' chargers dont comply with. ive only ever had one TERRIBLE set of batteries, and for the life of me I cant remember the branding they had on them lol (lots of help there haha) they were a recycled type.. and YES IMO this chair is NOT for 'active' users
as far as K0813 and K0816 I dont there there are any.. usually the bigger batteries are required for complex rehab seating, or HD weight chairs.. ive looked around a bit - but most chairs that come with a 'van seat' dont typically have giant batteries... BUT there may be some out there! ill keep looking.. now im curious myself!
I was searching for info yesterday. I found Permobile User and Service Manuals for the M5. The specs said Group 24. The tech brought new NF22's and chat about the M5. Then he followed that with "your due for a new chair". FYI...I require rehab tilt seating in all directions available plus elevating legs.
My first chair was a q6, it was nothing but problems from the gate. Then dynamic rehab wouldn't warranty it or repair it, and made a point to jerk me around and make excuses until they could say oh well it's not our problem. I love my amy-systems alltrak r3 except it eats batteries fast, and luckily numotion has been very good and pretty fast so far, considering covid and process for getting repairs and such approved. I just need to figure out what I can do to modify some things, lights, maybe a generator, horn, etc. I'm going to give the mini bike tires a try when I get my spàre wheels in about 2 weeks.
I actually owned a q6 edge 2. Awful chair. Had nothing but fault after fault. It ended up getting replaced after 18 months due to it not being fit for purpous and practically unusable I any weather other than perfectly dry
I just like the joystick. Q6 isn't really a good chair. I never have problem with climb with frontier V6.... Please convince your friend, not to buy Q6...
They will cross railroad tracks but mine only went 1 1/2 miles before the batteries were dead VA does plan on it being used outside After a year it will only go 0.3 miles and I have to charge it to get around the house
hey! unfortunately, I'm not sure about pricing, or if this chair is available in other countries.. check with a local wheelchair or DME supplier, im sure they can point ya in the right direction :^)
my Quantum Q6 Edge 2 has enough power to take me several miles & return and have power to spare.
Thank you for such a comprehensive review. It's great to see it really put through it's paces. Really helps with decisions!
One month ago the Edge 3 was out so I don't know why you would get an old generation chair.
i was looking around quantums website.. they still sell ALL the older chair models! im not quite sure why.. but they kinda remind me of Samsung and their 57 models of phones that are available!
BUT the F-series permobils do have much better suspension than the other versions used to
If you have replaced the batteries recently check the motor connections. I had an issue where i could only drive in circles lol Hope it helps
You are becoming a staple in my life right now LOL
haha awesome! if ya wanna wait a few weeks, im building and going to be selling universal lighting kits for chairs!
Totally Normal honestly dude I'm kind of like you figuring it out myself and customizing it in my own way is half the fun. But I'll definitely check out your kid and if it seems to be an easier and more financially prudent option I will definitely go that way
You guys are awesome - and inspiration! Wish I could find some guys like you to ride my wheelchair around with.
Well, it's 2019 now, & they just recommended this chair for my 76 year old mom... I don't think that she'll be using it nearly as rough as you wild men! 😂
But thanks for showing it in action!
its a decent machine to run around the house in! :^) good luck! hopefully works out well
I have a Q6 edge 1.0 for about 3yrs now... Which I did more research before I got my chair! The chair powers down/power reduction at certain inclines and on different terrain like grassy hills of dirt trail! Veryyy annoying.... Indoor use is great but battery life is 😵
i am Vietnamese. I want to ask how much this car?
They tend to get caught up and not want to move the direction you are trying to go.
sometimes its hard to find the right chair for the person.. but when a good match is made.. you'll never use anything else! haha
Well I wish I could've tested it beforehand like your buddy Dave and I would've probably found a better fit lol. The Q6 works for now I just break more stuff and scrape more walls lol.
I’m in power chair , do off road lawns and paths. Muddy tires a problem Thankyou for sharing these
Hi thank you so much for sharing this video.
When your dad goes out make sure he is tlit back in his power wheel chair
Oh so these are more like INDOOR wheelchairs. I was looking to get one of these. I currently have a jazzy pride but the remote is very squirrely & it has no tilt and rise feature. However it does get around long distances without the battery running down. It's just missing the other two features I mentioned.
Another Awesome video! A fully decked out quantum edge 2.0 came up around here but now that I see this, its pretty much not for me with that kind of range.
Glad I saw this seems it wouldn’t be a good upgrade for me I have a invacare bora atm and want to upgrade to a more suspension ride and and a smaller Turning circle the permobil chairs seems popular but aren’t readily available used here in the uk
The permobil front drive in video looked petryfying on the slope haha
I have to wonder if the batteries on that demo were new and had they been cycled a number of times to reach their full capacity (if there's really anything to that whole thing with breaking in new batteries.) Also, do you have a preference between Gel an AGM
Anyway, if you get this, thanks or any insights or thoughts you might have and I enjoy the channel.
hey hey! i usually review the comments several times per day - my friend wound up getting the new Permobil M3 - the batteries in his demo unit were new - and hadn't been cycled yet.. but from my past experience, the smaller 22NF batteries don't gain much range after cycling unfortunately.. AGM are less finicky with charging, and can handle high amperage situations much better - here's some more info on the subject.... www.wheelchairdriver.com/AGM-GEL.htm IMO however, i always recommend AGM for most people and situations

I live on a Farm , n nothing has held up to my abuse like the quantum rival. Bt sadly it’s being discontinued, so I’m getting the quantum R-Trak
I'll have to think about it and evaluate all the pros and cons...
oh.. actually it was the edge 3 HD chair that i saw with the larger batteries.. that was probably the difference... good luck with everything!
@@TotallyNormal- thanks!
Have a q6 edge
LOL contact the city of Beaverton and have them put a cut out in! Nice demo.
my outrigger wheels had to be adjusted for better control and had to be reprogramed to decrease the force when turning
The bigger the battery the grater the distance and have you heard of the new AGM led carbon battery's
Took 2 month's but that's because of the Corona bullshit they are nice people and a very professional company check them out peace my Cripps
...Where are you guys located?... having all this fun...)
i just got a EDGE 3 back on DEC. 27 2018, i am loving it so far, have almost 30 miles on my chair, have gone the max 6 MPH on this chair, that baby is quick
glad its workin out well for ya!
Are you still liking the chair? What should I expect when I get mine?
Mine goes up to 6.5 prh I believe it can go up to 10
"you're a good swimmer, right?" 🤣🤣🤣 I about busted a gut!
Take care.😊
i prefer permobil chairs... a lot of the quantum chairs have pretty small batteries, and thus not a whole lot of range :^/
also for adaptive controls - permobil uses the R-Net control system, and IMO there are a lot more options for alternative drives
Looks like I better do more research.
the version 3 is a bit better.. and apparently ya can get bigger batteries in some of the newer models now...
Hello I have this chair it's a second hand it's barely used . It will not go anywhere. It says idle mode
Hi. I just got one. I will probably use mine for indoor use.
you'll have to let me know how it works out for ya! hopefully is reliable, and lasts a while!
Never again!
filing a MAUDE complaint with the FDA is a good thing to do as well

@@TotallyNormal- thanks, will do.
Ya there getting me a q6 for my new chair I want to get the extreme 8 4x4 for my out side chair so me and my son can go we're ever we want
kinda wish i saw this video before getting one of these its been nothing but a head ache. i travel lots and the batteries dont last at all
Get 21st C entury Scientific with a $4000 lithium battery upgrade and you'll get 50 miles to a charge
Jus got my q edge 3 today but sadly didn't come with the led light but still very nice selling my old one that I've had since 2014 for $500 its a q edge 2
How's the edge 3 otherwise?
I dont gey it. Why would an ebike have so much more torque? Im probably wrong, but i can climb. Up very steep trails on my ebike without peddling. Plus it does 30mph
What about sidewalks?
I prefer front wheel drive chairs for small spaces... but they're not as easy to use with head arrays / sip n puff systems.. they require a bit more technique to maneuver around. hope that helps somewhat.. lol
Totally Normal It was, thank you!
Is it available India? Price and where to buy.
Can the ilevel be overridden so the chair can drive in a higher level with allowing more speed?
the way its setup, iLevel mechanically locks out the suspension to make the chair a bit more stable.. but trust me - ya dont wanna go faster than it's programmed with the seat lift raised all the way! :^)
@@TotallyNormal- Thanks.
quantum was recommended to me and already only 2 minutes into the video, I'm not interested. I had a Jazzy years ago and I had that annoying fluttering rear casters when going down grade. It's 2019 and they STILL haven't fixed that problem? I owned that Jazzy over 15 years ago!
My rival goes on a long drive without a charge but power seating can drain the battery I can go almost15 miles per charge
My quantum is an edge 3 instead of 6. My apologies sir!! But it's still the purple people eater!!!
wait were you in the quantum on the hill when you turned off ??
I was in my AmySystems chair - the batteries weren't the greatest, so it shut down on the super steep hill - surprised me!
I GOT ONE OF THOSE FROM THE VA Q6 EDGE 2.0
- an M3 or the ROVI in my opinion are probably the best ones right now if i was getting a new chair myself :^)
but you gotta try as many as ya can! a lot of dealers will let ya try out demo chairs now, and sometimes even overnight!
QM-710 base price is 6k but when you add additional options can cost 3 times base price
I would like to point out thou the QM-710 can climb a step incline I used a 8 foot ramp on a 36 inch incline was scary but took it with no problem
Have you tried the TDX XP 2? If so how would you compare it to the Quantum Q6 2.0?
have tried any of the newer invacare stuff yet..
I have one of these, but it has an issue where it won’t move. The brakes click bit the controller shows the wrench symbol and the wheel flashing.
try flipping the brake levers a few times, and power cycling.. sometimes they get dirt in there - but the motors might be having issues as well.. probably need to visit a DME shop to get it sorted out though :^/
Totally Normal I really do not want to take it to a dealer. Because that will cost me an arm and a leg. I’m already missing enough of those
my BRAND NEW chair did the same thing right off - and they've replaced the motors twice now :^/ it sounds like an actual motor issue to me...or MAYBE a connector that's not plugged in all the way.. the connectors are kinda buried on these quantums though...
also might not hurt to see if you can get ahold of a local factory rep.. some of them have been known to come take a look at chairs for free..
Thanks 4 posting. U guys hv a lot of guts!
i wonder how the Q6 2.0 motors hold up long term.? i have a Rival rwd by Quantum. i have had both motors replaced because the drive gears broke when it was less than a year old. now i have ordered 2 more for the same breakage.
on your vid i too would like to know more about the unstable steering. i hate crossing a threshold in my Rival. i cant get a new chair for 2 more years because of insurance. several people recommend the Q6 for an outside chair.. i will be looking at going mid wheel drive for sure.
should i go Permobile M3 or M5 .?
unfortunately when they design these chairs and motors/gearboxes.. they're only concerned with people moving around INSIDE their homes.. since that's all insurance will pay for - and also most of their business comes from insurance companies - so they started designing and building things that aren't very robust - after seeing how tiny the motors are on the new Q6 chairs.. id probably stay away.. the less material they're built with, the less heat dissipation occurs, and less mechanical rigidity there will be = wears out faster - time will tell on these new chairs!
the unstable steering we think was from the joystick being SUPER sensitive - probably just a learning curve
the M5 has a taller available seat elevator, as well as 7.5 (or 8 cant remember) mph motors
my friend in the video is getting his new M3 today as we speak! time will tell on all these chairs.. but id defiantly stay away from quantum if you ever go outside, or travel any distances.
I've acquired a few sets of motors from the M3 and M5 chairs to play around with - and they seem to be quite robust in their construction! -
also all the new permobil chairs have ESP stabilization as a standard feature - though youll probably need to have the chair tuned a bit - out of the box they're not always setup for performance
*for now* id recommend the M5 or even the M3 if you want a mid-wheel drive - hopefully their long term reliability doesn't prove me wrong! lol good luck!
Will you plese send me price list with sipping or without shipping charge.how can i get in kathmandu nepal
I unfortunately don't have any information on pricing or shipping.. you'd have to get in touch with a local vendor in your area
Thsnk you sir
Could you please tell me where, your friend in pink shirt, bought the joystick handle type goal post, or what brand is it? Thank you
he had it custom made... lemme see if i can find some instructions or how they did it..
Ok, thanks
Have you tried putting your joystick post between 2 fingers and all the way to your palm? then move your whole hand not just your fingers. It helps you rest your fingers and have greater control when you're going fast.
sorry for the delay - he said his physical therapist made it from some moldable plastic.. some sorta stuff you heat up, and then bend and it holds its shape... not sure of the name of the stuff.. they just had it lying around apparently

I have one I have one for 6 years and now I need new batteries
I have invacare torgue 3 and i have gone 18 miles on a charge
thats impressive!!

Have you tested a merits vector HD
havent seen one of those in person yet..
They have also made the outrigger caster arms lighter and tighter to the classy, where as the original Q has all of its outrigger caster arms made out of heavy bent 2" steel tubing that reach out further in front and back.
seems like they're going for lighter weight these days...
@@TotallyNormal- hi my name is dane
I have the same one
I have a Q6 Edge 3MP-SS on order and was wondering if it will be the same.
the Edge 3 can be ordered with larger batteries.. and they've made a few changes.. dont have all the details.. but at least its got the ability to to have better range!
Lol
my new chair has the quantum 'interceptor' batteries in it.. they claim to be better than the MK ones! we shall see!!
@@TotallyNormal- hey, let me know. I'm always looking for ways to Max out my range from my chair. Especially with my (slowly) growing independence.
Quantum edge2, how to control reversing, it doesn't go straight back, backing up the wheels in back goes left or right, doesn't go straight back help?
are the rear castor wheels not turning around all the way? they should freely rotate and move wherever they need to as the chair moves..
@@TotallyNormal- I already tried that.
@@TotallyNormal- Thanks for replying
Any other suggestions
Mine is Quantum Q6 Edge 3 I love it~!
I don’t want to be an imposition on you so if you feel put upon, just
tell me to F off. I’m a formerly active Marine so I should be able to handle it Okay, LOL.
If anyone reading this wants to help out a fellow crip, I would be sincerely appreciative!

yup! the Edge 3 is a newer model.. but they have like 5 different "edge" chairs now.. their product line is getting pretty crowded! lol
Oh well I'm always bringing in the rear
glad you enjoyed!
I have a Q 6 edge chair and I've had so many motor mounts break on me, it's naddening.
JUNK
anybody familiar with john from the UK, he got a website for wheel chair repairing
I I level power chair i love have it but the power battery 🔋 doesn’t last very long then day it of just want new chair so bad I have to wait until September 2025😂😂
Tank you my friend
Is it similar to the edge 3
they updated a few things on the edge 3 - but the standard version still has the small NF-22 batteries maybe 5-6 miles of range MAX
These are all the same battery on the inside.
www.mkbattery.com/images/M24SLDG.pdf
www.batteriesplus.com/battery/sla-sealed-lead-acid/12/durg12=70p
www.dcbattery.com/deka_8g24.html
They may vary a bit on the shell appearance or terminal style etc, but those are all essentially the same exact battery and all are manufactured by East Penn Manufacturing and just sold under different brands.
(not every day use - but they still work!)
Also, I think some of the older/smaller straight "gel" batteries - NOT AGM - wind up getting their life cut short by improper charging techniques - as they require a very specific bulk, and float charge voltage that 'universal' chargers dont comply with. ive only ever had one TERRIBLE set of batteries, and for the life of me I cant remember the branding they had on them lol (lots of help there haha) they were a recycled type..
and YES IMO this chair is NOT for 'active' users
So which group1 approved wheelchairs have group 24 batteries as standard equipment?
as far as K0813 and K0816 I dont there there are any.. usually the bigger batteries are required for complex rehab seating, or HD weight chairs.. ive looked around a bit - but most chairs that come with a 'van seat' dont typically have giant batteries...
My opinion all the big company electric wheelchairs are TOYS at best.
Please convince your friend, not to buy Q6...
he wound up getting the permobil M3 :^) had it a few months and loves it!
I have 1, have you tried to go across railroad tracks?, our paths are across from the tracks
haven't tried train tracks... how does yours handle them?
have not tried it yet, looked at the groove and thought the outrigger wheels might catch in them
They will cross railroad tracks but mine only went 1 1/2 miles before the batteries were dead VA does plan on it being used outside After a year it will only go 0.3 miles and I have to charge it to get around the house
Make these things articulate.
