In the tracks of Churchill tanks during the Battle for Kleve | February 1945

In late 2017, I set out on a project to document and re-trace the tracks of the 3rd Battalion, the Scots Guards, during the Battle of Kleve in February 1945. Using a series of footage and imagery captured by several war correspondents deployed to the city during the battle, I was able to re-trace the Battalion and walk in the tracks of their Churchill tanks, some 75 years on from the battle.

Kleve was the local town to RAF Laarbruch were i spent 3 years in the army in the early 90s. It still showed war damage. The remembrance parade was at the war cemetery every year.
