I came to learn more of the shadow dark solo play but stayed because of how you take these slightly random/slightly controlled rolls and made, essentially, a great story. It's so fascinating to watch, I mean it. It totally changed my perspective of how I see solo play and I'm definitely now convinced to give it a try when I was apprehensive before. Thank you Matt 🤙
Love the viideo and the style you explain. There is just one little detail: Halflings average about 3 feet tall - longbow is commonly 6 feet (1.8 metres) tall So making it that the thief could not draw the bow if his life depends on it...
Hey! Great video. One small thing: at 3:38, you should have set your constitution to 12 (10+2) with a +1 modifier, and not had a +2 modifier due to the talent.
Thanks for the compliment! I did notice that I messed up some of the rolls during character creation. I actually cut out a lot that I had to go back and redo. 😅 I'm going to have to pay closer attention next time I have a character Creation session
Normally I would roll 4d6 and drop the lowest or just use Point Buy. But, I wanted to stick to the ShadowDark rules as close as I could for this Project.

The new (2021) version has an app for HQ that allows for easy solo play. Hope to see you play as well! As for me, i do ttrpg illustration and enjoy these kinda videos runnin while I draw. 😊
Very cool, I still love some Heroquest. I tried the app as well, but I found it slows things down. Managing the gameboard and an app simultaneously just doesn't work for me. But, I'm glad it works for you. Game on!
It’s so quick and easy whipping up Shadowdark characters! Can’t wait to see how your games develop. Are you planning to use any “modes of play”? I play a single pc solo game, so I opted to use Hunter and Pulp modes from the book. I might even add Heroic mode (from SoloDark) that grants 2 actions per pc turn.
Curious why you went wizard when you rolled an 18 wisdom. The 18 is so hard to come by I think I’d for sure use that as my characters main attribute if possible. On that note, one option I use when creating a party of 4 like this, I’d roll the ability scores for all 4 and THEN choose their classes. That way I’ll see if I have to lean one way or another if I have a guy who has a couple options
I'm working on editing the next episode. My goal is to get. It is done, uploaded, & scheduled for Friday. These solo videos take some time. So, I'm trying to release them every 2 weeks.

I'm glad you are enjoying these. It takes a little work to realize that it's not cheating to just decide to take the story where you want it to go.
i think you forgot the advantage the dwarf gets when rolling thier HP. looks like youre going to have a blast, cant wait for the next episode. :D
