The 24h subdial helps in knowing when to change the date since we are not supposed to change it between 9 pm-3 am. Makes it easy to see whether the time is set to AM or PM.
Someone may be able to correct me, but I believe that the VK chrono movements actually shut off the chronograph function after 60 minutes have elapsed to save battery. Which is why Seiko doesn't have an hour totalizer, it'd be even MORE useless than the 24hr indicator. But I agree, the 24hr indicator should be replaced with something else.
I rather baulked at buying this model as it's indeed too close a copy of the Omega, so I bought the white dial-red bezel one instead, and I must say for the €87 that I paid it is an amazing watch. Everything lines up, the head feels very solid, there is AR coating and a sapphire crystal AND bezel.

Actually it's a pity cause I like the watch so much and no doubt the price. I prefer these hour/minute hands to the Omega's, these being a tiny bit thicker, hence more legible. In addition, the 42mm case is a great fit for my 8" wrist and I wouldn't go any bigger.@@JustWatches1

Don't worry mate, many hidden gems to explore, plus some more cash to spend, mostly without a lot of thought (cause of the prices) and many ups and downs (cause of the quality). Yes, I have tinkered around with a few and I can see how it can get addictive! I should have scraped off the blue sticker but I was just borrowing it so erred on the side of caution :P
@@JustWatches1 Have one, the crown has the whole sticker that i just scratched with my nail, just on the logo part, rest is still there, like a light blue background, love it!
hey people. i also have one of these. to br honest, this is the worst speedmaster homage i have ever had or seen. if u have it in your hands , it emediatly looks very cheap. its because too much bling . ceramic bezel instead of alumimium, the crystal is no AR at all, and the subdials are too much indesise.
I have this and a Corgeut. That's visible smaller (40mm), the same lug width (20mm), no date, aluminum bezel insert, domed mineral glass, screw down crown. Price was about $60-70. Wears well with nato strap, but I prefer it with tapering leather straps. Pagani Design with stainless steel is bold, has massive wrist presence. Corgeut with a leather strap sits silently on the wrist, feeling more weareable and sexy. At least for me.
Yes, but the question is not buying a PD quartz or an Omega Speedy. Who is puting the question like this, so can afford, will buy Omega or none. The question is only to buy or not? Which one depends on your budget, but think that Omega servicing costs $6-800 (??) every 3 to 5 years. A cheap scooter can't be compared with a Harley Davidson. Feelig, prestige, value, price, servicing etc. are two worlds apart.
@@ret01101 I own two Speedies. One for 5 yrs, the other for 7. You do not need to service them every 3 to 5 years. $600 to $800 for service is a minor expense. If it's too much, don't buy.

It’s a great way to get a feel for a Speedy and not spent too much cash.
