- The Sayin SY-8801 AM FM Stereo Digital Portable Radio does one heck of a Job on the Medium Wave Band. During this Daytime Scan, I am impressed with the amount of stations it finds. Employing the use of the Terk Advantage Passive Loop pushes this little White Monster even Further! At Twenty Three Dollars, it is an Excellent purchase :)

Hej Todderbert thanks for the bandscan the Sayin SY-8801is a great radio love mine and I can also certify that this radio has so nice sound and it also has very good battery life. And when I play it I run at quite a high volume and have only changed batteries once it is very impressive take care have a and a very nice day.

I would like to know what makes a radio a good receiver radio besides the price and what is the farthest radio station you picked up assume your from the states so world wide is really what l want to know ...lm talking about FM/am kind of radio just to be clear...thanks....
Sangean radios are typically the best on MW and FM. Sony is good, along with others that I find. I can pick up Cuba at night on MW, which is around 1700 miles from me. They use more power. FM, I have had e-skips out to 1350 miles. Rare, but fun.
