If you don't understand the rock paper scissors aspect, lemme clear it up.
rock = middle attack
scissors = up attack
paper = down attack
👑 for you king
how do you know which your opponent is using?
@@sirkyrxon936 You have to guess, good luck
@@glezisbauk4732 not rlly 99% they spam left/right bet youre one of them lol
@@EMre___64 true, do the down attack and you have a free win in 99% of the situations
Some random advice/tips:
°Don't be afraid to essentially 'flee' a battle when you're low on health or at an disadvantages position with a Gum-Dash or anything to slow your opponent(s) down to escape, it is especially important for Team Battles as a man down is a horrible situation, even if you're out for 5 seconds.
-A follow-up, disguising as an object gains you health much faster than just running aimlessly, as long as you're safe in the disguise, you'll regen.
°If you see an opponent using that Piercing Mixer Ninjutsu and they're alone, rush them and hard punish with a Weapon Break, turning them into poop or any other ability that may solidify the kill while they're still doing the Special, then you'll have an easy pick.
°You know that Special Ninjutsu that the Drills have with the blade? You can easily escape them if you are a little tricky with your movement and are able to dodge their ranged-slashes, they'll have to target you specifically if they want the kill, which is a good thing for Team Battles so you can divert their attention away from your allies. If you're in their range of death, use a Gum-Nado or Instant Kill Ninjutsu to escape or eliminate them.
That's all, hope you wonderful person managing to read this to have a good night/evening/morning~! :)
Another tip: we're ninjas. Ninjas don't go face to face with their opponents, and ambushes give you an advantage.
An extra tip: If someone is doing a combo on you, you can sometimes jump out of their combo and get out of their way and then instantly counter by attacking them after you come out of their hitbox.
It's even more probable when the opponent attacks you at an awkward angle (diagonal/vertical from my experience); if you are lucky, you get to Gum Dash away or counter with Weapon Break (Hammer), Gum-Nado, Instant Kill Special etc.
This is just like splatoon but its also good. It's free and i really recommend this game, its fun
There’s also a run button in the mechanic with the counters
That’s only sometimes
Sometimes it's impossible since when attacked i the stuck and my controls won't work until I'm dead.
A tip for the rps battles:
People tend to use left-right most of the time, so try using down. If that fails, try left-right. If that fails, you’re dead.
Best free game on switch looks cool, plays smooth, ninjala pass is nice. Looks pretty handheld and TV mode! Awesome free game!!
Ninjala,Dauntless and warframe are the best free to play games on switch in my opinion
Lmaooo he smooth have you played oh boy oh boy Not being able to defend yourself not being able to get out of a fight when you want to really sucks
Nah smite and paladins are best f2p on switch close 3rd doh
And f0rtnIte
Can’t wait for apex man, IMO that blows this outta the water, this is still good tho
I can't get out of being attacked repeatedly until I die. I don't know how to get out of it.
So I quit and play MK11 instead.
You need stammina so kill more drones or you have less trys to block

@@Annoyingorangesex same man!
I think I need a full video on the Rock Paper Scissors part that’s what I’m losing at the most
Go red on swords and blue on hammers
Think of the arrows based on the pokemon formula: Fire beats grass, grass beats water, water beats fire. It's the same thing with the color of each arrow. I've noticed people often start by using the side arrows and go from there. What I do is I start with side arrow (since most people also start with that, using the same arrow will make us have to repeat, that way I have more time to think what to use next) and then from there I start using the color that beats the one we clashed on previously so I can eventually win the showdown. Right now most people just keep on choosing green arrow instead of changing, which makes it super easy to win the showdown. So in conclusion: Keep on changing your arrow choice so you can stay unpredictable.
@@edwinpolanco8787 so what you are saying is that it's pretty much luck?
@@muffindaddy3628 yes you have a 1/3 chance to win. But if you get your bigger weapon and you "tie" when parry, you automatically win if the opponent has a smaller weapon. In other words, get your bigger weapon ASAP to have a 2/3 chance to win :)
Pay to win luck
A lot of people seem to struggle, I personally found the game easy to learn as I've been winning it getting top 3 in lobbies even back during the beta. But it's like Sonic Riders, there's tons of mechanics that make it unique and fresh, but they don't do a good job explaining them to new players
I've played three games and have not the slightest idea what I'm doing. Tutorial and all it's aggravating getting washed and having no idea what you're doing wrong. Gonna keep at it though.
Yeah. That was me when I started. It doesnt help they have like 1000 small icons and things that they don't bother explaining to you before displaying them. But you'll getvthe hang of it.
Yeah it's definitely frustrating at first. The tutorial doesn't do much of anything to explain the combos, or how to get out of being pinned.
That pvp goes by so quickly it's difficult to know what happened and then what went wrong to even start to improve.
Absolutely dominated in my first game now I'm getting stomped.
This game has so much potential! It’s awesome so far but new modes would be insane.
I see alot of dynamic map potential i mean the city map is pretty fun
They should add more players to be on the map. The second map is To big for only 8 players to be on. Its hard to find someone to fight when they are all running around
@@jayydexter I love that you can run up walls so we need more maps centered around wall running
I would love to see some sort of hide and seek game mode using the morph ability.
I was playing this last night and I aimed for the middle area just minding my business (waiting for drones to appear) when all of a sudden 3 players came right at me. I panicked and start spamming the buttons in confusion.
FOR SOME REASON, I got to IPPON one of them and knock out the other two. I saw that I was first place and was like... WTF HAPPENED?!
That was so awesome!! Yesterday on my last match I was in a rush for reaching 1st place and the match almost finished, I achieved an IPPON at the last second. I felt so pumped, but sadly I didn't have enough space to record it...
Is there a offline option?
How to win : don’t lose
Thank you
You are a genius
You can press L to get out of a parry that's pretty useful.
who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?
Ez
In 1 second of starting the video, my thought: GABE! OMG! GABE!
Its great to have you back on the channel, Gabe! I know it's not your first video back, but it's still really nice to hear you on a video.
a lot of people complain about the rock paper scissors but there are many ways to avoid it, game rewards skill, ninja skill, ambushing has better chances of not engaging in direct combat, outsmarting players is the way to go, a lot of people forget this is a ninja game, and direct combat for real ninjas was somthing really stupid and reckless, kinda luck bassed, just like rock papaer scissors yeah you can predict your opponent but it still luck based if you dont think, the game rewards the 3 c's calm, clever and creative like a real ninja
, use morph more, use the utsusemi as decoys, ambush from behind so the opponent cant parry, walk on the wall to not be detected by the radar, use drones as lure to attract players and then take the last hit to steal the points and kill the player, there are many strategies to play that reward you for having patience and being smart with your sills
I played a couple matches and I'm inlove with it already. Was soo hyped when I seen this video come out!!
I upgrade the weapon at the last 30 seconds, I don't destroy drones often but I'm always first lol (sorry for my English I'm Italian)
Bruh these limited use wepon cosmetic is weak asf
I agree they are just cosmetics they don’t add any extra powers I think they should be permanent other then that I enjoy it
5:50 I agree, but I have a visual impairment and my eyes can’t always process the fast movements in battle, so I usually just move the control stick in random directions and prey that I win. Despite that, I’m still pretty good at video games. (I won my first match and i was once level 30+ in splatoon 2 before I had to change accounts because of Nintendo switch online).
There's been some unfortunate lag in some matches. So when I'm going toward someone, they *teleport* and I get attacked to death.
There are certain weapons that have the teleporting ability iirc.
I can't tell if your joking. Haven't experienced any lag even with poor connection
@@MultiPss it definitely wasn't that. There was no animation compared to the actual attacks that make you teleport.
@@VoluXian oh I see. I hope your lags will be solved soon.
Gabe! Didn't realize you were back!
I'll have to check it out. Thanks for letting me know about it!
I saw a great comment from another person who had a awesome idea on how to fix the luck that currently plagues the parry system. Basically their idea is that when you parry, instead of you both randomly selecting a direction, a direction will already be selected. Whoever of the two presses the button first wins the clash. This is great because now the parry system rewards reaction time and not luck. Now to put my own spin on it, instead of just doing it once, the parry should be a best out of 3 which is similar to how everyone plays Rock Paper Scissors. Whoever wins two of the three reaction based parry clashes, wins the clash. If you both are at a tie in the clash and input the command at the same time, causing a stalemate then you both take half of the damage that you would normally take if you had won the clash. For example, let’s say winning a clash deals 50 damage to your opponent. If you both tie, then you’d both lose 25 health. This way clashes will always feel epic but also aren’t drawn out for long periods of time so that the game can keep going.
You can't do something that precise because of connexion issues. If player A act before but has a worse internet, he might lose and it would be unfair. Rock Paper scissors is a great system for an online game since that kind of probleme doesn't matter
2:36 the weapon select has a scroller witch means more weapons in s2
my predictions for s2 :
chapter 2 in story mode
more weapons
more outfits
another mode
and hopefully more drone types
Yes
Oh, snap! It's Gabe! Wb, altho I'm probably late in finding this out lol thanx for the tips btw, also there are 4 weapon types aren't there? The Katana, Hammer, Yo-yo, & drill. That corn thing was a drill type. I'm still not so sure tho....
Cool, thanks for the tips- there is a lot to like about this game & look forward to being able to play & get better-
How to win to win guide.
1. Play the game.
2. Get good
Hahaha literally XD
Get good on a luck based system?
Sure bro
Ray Itsuka it’s not all luck based, with parry fights you set people up the same way you do in Rock Paper Scissors, you do a best 2 outta 3 eventually you learn, same way in this game
Trevor Trotman and there’s combos you can do on people
@@trevortrotman4626 or you can always press L towards a direction to avoid the high risk high reward parry fights
I love how there are two specials that are similar to splatoon. The gum beam and sting ray both being able to go through walls and a literal rocket and booyah bomb taking time to charge up and can get killed in the middle of charging, but also kill any poor soul that get caught in it
I though transforming would be useless except in certain parts of the map. My 2nd game I just transformed next to the middle platform (where there is nothing there), and a player ran by so close that they clipped the corner of my box and didn't even notice.
Normal attacks, wide attacks, and back attacks? I thought you just attack with ZR. I have no idea what is going on in this game.
Your attacks change depending on what direction you are holding while attacking. Basically forward, side, and back attacks. They all do something different depending on the weapon you are using.
The game is absolutely terrible on explaining anything. Sadly this game isn’t gonna last
^
this was actually quite helpful 🤣♥️
Awesome, thanks Gabe for the tips! 🤘🏼😊
Not for me... :(
I may nto have any good advice on how to win but I do know how to have fun. it's very simple:
every time you use the tornado special you need to say "ninjaGO!" now that may not seem like much but it is pretty fun
Seems like your main gum is the yoyo. finally i see someone who does main the yoyo too
I love this, reminds me alot of "naruto to boruto: shinobi striker"
Everybody is playing this game since its release! Awesomely appealing and very fun to play! The only negative thing I found annoying so far is the loading game and connection issues at times but in general it’s a great game! And free😉
I downloaded this game on day one and deleted it because there was no content in the game, but I’m glad they’ve added more stuff! So I wanna learn how to play now
1:32 AAAAAYYY Thats my bois! Happy and Apple!
1:32 happybreh and TDFO apple are my friends XD
YO THOSE ARE MY FRIENDS TOO!!! WOW!!!
I just got this game today and Im already loving it
ooooh so youre the one who was pushing my shit in on my first round. nice.
I hope they make some changes to this game. Rock-Paper-Scissors style combat?!? One time use skins and cosmetics?!? Idk this game kinda just looks like a cash grab to me
I'm fine with the "rock paper scissors", I just don't like how losing one of the rock paper scissors interactions makes you take so much damage.
@@jantheking7028 Well you just have to get better at predicting the opponent, or avoid parrying by dashing when on the defense or using break attacks on the offense
@@shantaeforsmash8287 Sorry I wanted to play a game that uses actual skill, not an extreme version of rock-paper-scissors.
@@crimphanto3229 play a fighting game if you want a true challenge, not just any fighting game though. I personally find Ninjala refreshing.
@@crimphanto3229 Then this game obviously isn't the game for you, simple :)
If you get the drill katana it has that supreme blade thingy and combine that with big weapon its takes 2 hits to take someone down

Great Guide man 👍, I haven't Played this game yet, still trying too get through Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and The Last of Us Part 2 at the mo plus I wanna Playthrough Deadly Premonition 1 again before Deadly Premonition 2 Drops but I will check out Ninjala at some point tho.
It doesn’t let me upgrade my weapon when the message to upgrade it so I don’t prioritize the drones
Him: attack the drones!
Me: ok
All of my opponents: *it’s free real estate*
I loooove being placed with people at level 40 as a level 8 ^ 3^ seems really fair
I like how at the start of the vid that it looks llike splatoon 2 and not just splatoon in general
Here is one question. Do you mash the attack button or do you just press it once in sync with which direction you want to choose?
Hey buddy it’s great to hear your voice again
I got into this cause it looks like splatoon but seems different so I must get it
Game is 99% grade I was confused for one day then I looked in the game settings menu gives you so much detailed explanation no longer confused
This is underated
Great Job. 👍
Thanks
I have no idea what you just said. Welcome back Gabe!
Thank you! You maked me pro UwU
So I’m guessing when it comes to parrying, the green left and right arrow are normal attacks? But what’s the red down and blue up arrows, which one is wide attack and which ones the other one... these arnt made clear in the ingame video or this RUclips one
Thanks guys my special attack is if someone hits you press ZR if you can and do the green arrow and repeat but spam ZL
So I admit, I could use some advice. I tend to lean into hammers mostly the SK8 Hammer, but every time I either go into a fight or someone fights me I get put into a never ending chain of hit combos that I can't escape from. I sometimes get lucky and I can go into rock paper scissors, but generally I'm stuck in this "non-escape" situation and it's rather annoying. I was wondering if the comment section has any tips aside from "get good".
Try and jump out of it or gum dash if possible. Sometimes regular dodging works too but not as much from by experience. It depends on the angles. Sometimes you're just screwed and have to take it.
I really want to play but I can never get past the connecting screen
When im doing the rock paper siccors move how do i know what to do to succesfully counter
You can’t tell exactly what your opponent is going to choose, it’s mainly luck
Love this game and hope more people play it.
5:14 attack priority. How can I see which attack the opponent is doing?
Its called animation lel and most of the ppl do left/right
I have a few problems
-matchmaking is like level 19's with level 50's
-parry needs fixed 😔
Other than that its amazing and its recommendable
Wait ... Gabe is back!!! 🙏🏽
I’m still not sure how some fighting mechanics work. For example I don’t understand what your supposed to do when the anologe stick with the arrows appear. It happens when someone is attacking you and you block/parry can someone explain it to me.
Read the tutorial, particularly the part about parrying.
You can find this in the training mode... Where basically all the important mechanics are explained.
You are guessing what the opponent's move will be. So you have up, down and side attack. Down beats side. Side beats up and up beats down. You just have to guess what you think your opponent does. If you think they will do a side attack then press down. Or you can always press L to dash away from the parry
How do you do that gum torpedo thing where you blast through the air also why doesn’t the cp attack me
Damn we are the new OGs
I been playing for a day using iron noise. There are no instructions that tell me the benefits of using different Zr attacks.
Like, if up-close to enemy, front+Zr is much faster than back+Zr but the damage is similar (do 2 attacks with each to destroy a red drone). So why would I ever use back+Zr?
The t in tsunami is silent...
Great guide :3
I played it one time and it never worked again so I stopped checking to see if it's back. So is it working again or what?
The way he explained it is like smash
I love this game! Hehe
I don’t understand anything TAT
Clan anyone help me TvT
For those who use katana and drill you should start with a side attack because you teleport behind your opponent
So I know that It's pretty dumb question but- How do I buy different clothes, haircuts etc. and if I have to buy them then for what and how do I earn it?
Go to shopping cart in the bottom line or L and whats new. If u want to buy something u have to pay for in game currency with real life money or get small amount from those quests and levels, cant remember the name but its under Y
Tbh i just need to get good to get jala to get the ninjala pass to get more jala to get accessories
This game is really good. Also learn how to gum dash and conserve energy. It helps a lot!
how do you gum-dash?
It keeps saying error when I try to play? Is something wrong with my nintendo switch?
solo i keep getting 2nd place or 3rd or 4th since everyone is getting good now .
I just want someone to feel my pain.
Hear that guys, it looks like splatoon but, it doesn't play anything like splatoon
I love this game it is fun
Can some explain this rank system. I can get 24+ to rank at a certain place and then i end up getting 3+ to my rank at the the same place i got the 24. The damn thing takes of twice as much if i rank 5th.🤯
how do you get into training mode and play radom
I cant find IT on the e shop
Just a little advice: think by counter colors of Pokémon. Green is weak against Red, but strong against Blue. Like: Water > Fire > Grass
Any body read the privacy stuff When you turn on the game? Some of it seems alittle sketchy. Deleted cause of some of the privacy things I read
5:51 you cant act on the attack they use if there is no indicator
They need to change the luck based parry system tho, should do an injustice 2 clash system or something
Its alright cuz all the kids are spamming left/right
Is there any way to always beat the parry system? Or literally is pure luck?
You can do some things so the odds are more often in your favor. I've noticed most people just go with the green arrow and often just keep on choosing that in hopes they win. So what I do is I start with green to confirm they're that type of player (most are) and then my next choice is red (which beats green) and more often than not I win the showdown with that strategy.
@@edwinpolanco8787 Still pure luck, you're opponent is most likely doing the same thing. You'll never know what they're doing at any given time.
Press L to run away from the parry.
You can also just dash away and avoid it altogether. Or if you're on the offensive and predict that they'll mash parry, you can stop attacking and bait it out.
@@reenachauriya4931 I just learned if you press L to run away you still have to choose a direction, so your opponent can still catch you if they choose the right one. Its pure luck as well :/
im confused, can anybody tell me how to the Rock Paper Scissors works? does it land an attack if I win or does it give just give me a better position?
Does alot of dmg plus gives you a chance to start a combo
Up is good against down and down is good against left/right
Spam the normal hammer and farm drones that’s what I do
if not for the ongoing anime right now I wouldnt know about this game.. the anime seems true to the game
This game is fun but is kind of all over the place and pretty much a contest of who can mash the most buttons the fastest
I feel horrible in Ninjala... I keep getting outmaneuvered... THIS is why I don't like fighting in large areas... I ALWAYS end up losing.....
Should I give up? Why or why not?
