Whew, I needed to see this today. As a relaxed gworlie for the last roughly 20ish years, it feels good to hear affirmations around loving my hair however I choose to!
All this shows is internalized oppression by continuing to subscribe to a colonizers standard of beauty which covertly perpetuates self-hatred. With that being said, the hair looks very cute
“See when the edges are in Africa and the back is in Asia, you can’t have that. Them continents don’t meet.” I applaud you Kelly, but I go to get a silk press in the winter. My lady chargers under $100, but I usually tip more.
Hullo I just added the products to my Stampede Storefront link. Btw in case you didn't hear in past videos, I have a few rows of Microlinks which are cut shoulder length to thicken the appearance of my hair. I love long hair too but this is how I get my 90s-actress-type-of-fine hair on my literally fine hair. No dramatic baby hairs in sight lol. And yes JHS is permanent. I have to get a touch up or cut if off if I want to go natural again. It's bone straight out the shower until the new growth comes in as you can see here. Oh and the dean at Stampede University loves the block button and will remove any hair police LOL. I love being meshy with low hair maintenance. Highly recommend JHS if you swim or kayak a lot like I do.
My grandma made me believe my hair was pin-straight but I was just getting perms at 8. I wear my hair naturally now and I think I prefer the big poof with the occasional silk press because it's like a magical girl transformation

Kelly Im not a girl, or black. But I still understand why someone would want to screw it to beauty standards. As a gay man, I was told by some people how I should act myself and you know what? I like doing the opposite even more. Maybe I m just oppositional-defiant. Ooor.. maybe Im done taking orders from others lol
I honestly think by end all you needed was to brush it and it would’ve been better 😂❤ that’s alll that was left was a quick run through the roots or you can always pay your hair down👐🏽
I didn't know that JHS wasn't common. It was super popular ~15 years ago (I got it done twice, but back then I didn't really know how to care for it properly 😅). Might be because I'm from Hawaii? We have a large Japanese population
I love the end results, wow. I doubt they have Japanese straightening salons here. I got relaxed a few weeks ago and my hair reverted smh. Still, it's easier to manage now than before

Never wait. Life goes faster than you think.
I always wondered what technique you used on your hair. Your hair is burrifu 😍. Btw, even your chaotic videos give me peace lol!

The Revlon One Step volumizer is so amazing I just got mine during Black Friday. I love it!
Edit: I just saw Kelly’s is from Hot Tools but my prior comment still stands lol.
Aardvark🎉 your hair is looking nice, healthy and full!
🤣🤣🤣 "Hey Samantha..." 😂😂😂
Kelly Im not a girl, or black. But I still understand why someone would want to screw it to beauty standards. As a gay man, I was told by some people how I should act myself and you know what? I like doing the opposite even more. Maybe I m just oppositional-defiant. Ooor.. maybe Im done taking orders from others lol
now i gotta research japanese hair straighteningggg

the way I just marched to the Hot Tools Amazon page!!! thanks from another straight hair Black girlie
I honestly think by end all you needed was to brush it and it would’ve been better 😂❤ that’s alll that was left was a quick run through the roots or you can always pay your hair down👐🏽
Oh wow. I’m a dude, but this was cool to see from start to finish. I just throw surfer 🏄♀️ putty in my hair and run out the door.
Cool video 😎
I didn't know that JHS wasn't common. It was super popular ~15 years ago (I got it done twice, but back then I didn't really know how to care for it properly 😅). Might be because I'm from Hawaii? We have a large Japanese population
I enjoyed the rant and you look lovely!!
I hate styling my own hair, which is curly. The truth is making an appointment and going to a hair salon can be relaxing (if you are not in a hurry).
Aardvark! Thank you so much for the hair routine, Kelly!
🤣🤣🤣 I love your honesty! Thank you for this video ❤️
Kelly you are so funny and cute! You always uplift my day. Where is your sweater from in this video? It’s so nice ❤
Aardvark!
Hullo! None of this applies to my hair but you’re always so entertaining to watch 😊
Aardvark
It's more fun and meshy than CNN!!
Yea i started going to pressed roots because of u. When i moved to dallas i couldnt find anyone i trusted to straighten my hair. Godsend!
I think it turned out pretty well. the volume is everything.

I’d gladly watch you do absolutely anything. Watching paint dry. Plucking toe hairs. Anything. You are simply my most entertaining friend ever.
Awww
I think Kelly might be the coolest person I’ve ever seen
🗣AARDVARK 😂😂😂, it takes time, but you'll get to a point where you nail it every time!
Your hair is so long and pretty ❤️ wish I had ur hair
I wish I saw this vid sooner, I was just in Dallas last week. Next time I’ll go check it out. Anyways, you look phenomenal, Kelly! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m just happy to be here.
Please accept this tiramisu 🎂
I love the end results, wow. I doubt they have Japanese straightening salons here. I got relaxed a few weeks ago and my hair reverted smh. Still, it's easier to manage now than before
You’re awesome! Just found your channel! Always wanted Japanese Straightening but nothing my area. Looking forward to checking out your vids!
Lol at the Pressed Roots plug. I kept comment ting to there. Its amazing!!!
I’m too excited!!! The JHS look is super cute!!! I may have to give it a try one day the next time I head to Miami!!! ☺️💜Aardvark
