im going to attempt to do the same thing myself to a 2500 W amp with 2 12 subs seems pretty simple after watching it couple times now just gotta get the fuses and ill be all set to go
Man it's so easy hooking up a sound system in a 300.. battery and fuse box in the trunk... man's it so much easier no need to run anything up front or to the radio..
Build an amp rack & you could mount it in your spare tire well & have a nice clean look & have all of your trunk space available minus your enclosure! Perhaps find a gap in your flooring or drill an entry point to run your speaker wires up from the well to your enclosure.
Do the amp and 2nd battery need separate grounds? I’ve seen some people just connect the amp ground directly to the 2nd battery ground terminal instead to chasis.
quick question... which ground should you connect/disconnect first? The main ground off the main battery first and then the second ground off the second battery or second battery then the first battery?
The fuse from the main battery to the 2nd battery the cable is too long before it hit's the fuse, it should be as SHORT as possible in case of a short and potential fire, looks good for sure, maybe should have had an inline fuse from the main battery.
Love the simplicity but is there not a need for a seperator given your running a lead acid (at least in my case) with the new* glassmat/lipo battery, they just have diffrent draws and capacity so i was just curious
Exactly and if you are not going to use a isolator / separator you should use two exact same batteries close to manufacturing date as possible . This is like amateur hour here

i think you probably said the answer to my question but i couldn’t understand it. but are you running 4 guage wire for the second battery or just for the main battery system?

Quick question. Let's say I already have my two amps wired to the main battery thru a Distribution block. If I add a second battery could I just run that battery to the main battery. Will it still supply extra power and work correctly.

I want to add another 600 watt amp and 2 10s ,or upgrade the 12s to 1000 watt a piece and am curious if I'd be fine with a 2nd battery and big 3 upgrade or if I'd to also upgrade the alternator
same set up but instead of car audio amps, it's rgb lighting. just so the same thing and hard wire the positive to the battery? no accessories fuse box i can buy make it a bit more cleaner
Do you think this extra battery would work in the same way but, instead of a power source to an amp, rather to and inverter, then to an in car laptop computer? I can't turn my car off during the day as the computer battery is hooked through ignition power, this is due to past issues, when computer was hooked through inverter to the battery, our battery would die every winter. So, unless you put a power diode between your main battery and 2nd battery, you’re essentially just hooking 2 12-volt batteries in parallel. Why not just get a higher capacity main battery? If you want to keep your 2nd battery from feeding back to main battery, a power diode with current travel from main to 2nd will keep the smaller battery charged with a .7 volt drop due to the diode.
You have any pics or videos of that box in the trunk? Got a 2008 same trunk and thinking about doing L7 build. But I wanna see how big the box is in the trunk
I've got a question I'm doing a battery delete for a 74AH lifepo4 battery and a 375farad super cap I know I have to fuse both ends of the battery but should I also fuse the supercapacitor before going into the amp
Just curious can you wire the second battery independent of the car battery? I wanna keep my battery under the hood but add a lithium bank in the back wired separately to the alternator?

Having two different amp hour rated lead acid/agm batteries in parallel will destroy each other. You need an isolating continuous duty relay/solenoid with a high amp rating.
Great video bro .. I have a question If I add 2 more batteries? I connect the second as you showed power to power and ground to the chassis then the third battery connect in parallel power to power ground to ground... And the third I also Ground to the chassis and the power to the amplifier and of course I also ground the amplifier.... Is that correct or am I Wrong? Or maybe there is a better way? Thenks :)
You have a secondary battery and you have a grandhome from the battery to the car off of the secondary but when you disconnect your ground from the car battery not your audio audio why does it still have positive ground to your audio battery What kind of fuse would you use for that to not push power back into the car
Would it not make sense to have a split charge relay. Problem is that presumably you're trying to avoid flattening the main battery by adding the extra battery. But with the circuit you've used in this video the extra battery is still going to draw current (from the starter battery) when the engine is turned off. Use it for long enough they're both gonna go flat voiding the point of having the extra battery so the starter battery doesn't go flat? Not a criticism by the way, just curious. I also don't know much about this so I may be taking out of my arse... idk
Don't need isolator, but the agm will fall to tthe level as the acid battery, resting voltage is often higher on agm. Only future problem is that the acid battery will die faster. Best way is the use same brang agm batteries ot lithium og super caps hehe
just an example question if you're running a cable That's rated for say about 200 amps or so and you have 2 or 3 separate fuses that are about 200 amps apiece in between two or three batteries wouldn't the cable be pretty hot before the fuses blew? really curious

Help!!! I had an idiot hook up my system that people told me was reliable, not only did he have a panic attack throwing fits the entire time trying, this guy tried to connect the ground wire and shoved it into the positive battery terminal. I don’t know anything myself, the bump and music itself has worked for almost a year now but my car was having major power issues since then and now realized that the battery terminal is barely even on because he tried to shove that ground wire up into it. Me trying to watch these videos, obviously are all absolutely completely different from wherever he put it. I have no idea what to even do right now. I’m just driving around with no music. Can someone help me out?
Take a look at your instruction manual for your amplifier it normally tells you what fuse size you need.. If your running more than one amp all you do is add the rated fuse amperage together and that tells you what size fuse you need at the battery.. But your fuse should only be 5Amps more or less than what you need. In my case my system needs 140Amps. So I put a 150A fuse at the battery and then down near my amps I split the wires and put a 100A fuse going to one amp and a 40A to the other
ForzaForce Gaming so that answer is between two batteries. between 2 batteries you need to see on your amplifier to see the fuse? hope your car did not catch fire. between two batteries the fuse is there to save the battery if cable get damage.
you basically don't want to exceed your cranking amps, but if you're under then that's fine. if you exceed your cranking amps then your alternator won't keep it charged properly.
but199018 but you can't go too far under your cranking amps either from what I'm being told, it should actually be around the same as your stock setup without a regulator. I'm just learning about this kind of stuff as well and evidently wasn't told completely what was up.
bkameka69 Some vehicles have the main starter battery in the trunk area because there isn't enough space under the hood, it doesn't matter if the battery is under the hood or the trunk, you just run a thick positive cable to the positive post on the 2nd battery then just ground both battery's to a solid piece of metal... To lower the resistance strain off your alternator run the negative cable to the negative post on the 2nd battery and run another negative cable to the alternator's metal case, that's if you have enough wire and a stock alternator.

you should have a solinoid that split main battery and the second. Ore else you empty/drain main battery and then it's no use for dual batteries.

Thanks worked out great
Appreciate your comment and thank you 👊🏻😎
@@FastElectronicAndLoud what about your alternator. Did you upgrade or keep stock
What ga wire did you use between the batteries
Great minds think alike because this is exactly how i did my setup 👍🏾‼️
yeah man nice set up! quick question, for the second battery why didn't you go for a dry cell battery?
+bam bam this is a dry cell
So I don't have to wire it in parallel, correct?
Square solo the best
I bought a 300A alternator, capacitor, and big 3 upgrade. Do I need an extra battery running 1800 rms bass mono amp at 1ohm
@Brian Waller I have an odyssey main battery and a 300 amp alternator big 3 upgrade that's all I need to run 1800 rms mono bass amp with a 100x4 amp?
Is the primary battery the oem battery? Non AGM?
when you put a fuse between the batterys how do you know what size fuse to get?
@@christianaelford7682 he is not asking what size fuse for the amplifier he is asking what size fuse to put in between two batteries!
Can I used a car battery for my car system to my amplifier
Best explained video after clicking on 5 useless videos
Can I use l corner brackets to keep battery from moving around back there ?
Should your additional battery specs closely match your OEM batteries specs?
you basically don't want to exceed your cranking amps, but if you're under then that's fine. if you exceed your cranking amps then your alternator won't keep it charged properly.
Thanks a lot man. Very helpful.
but199018 but you can't go too far under your cranking amps either from what I'm being told, it should actually be around the same as your stock setup without a regulator. I'm just learning about this kind of stuff as well and evidently wasn't told completely what was up.
What is the best size battery for the secondary one
Will it charge the second battery???
Can you ground the amp straight to the second battery?or does it have to have a separate ground?
Just ground it on the same spot the battery’s grounded at👍🏾
So is the original battery located in the trunk of the challenger from factory, or did you replace it there??
bkameka69 Some vehicles have the main starter battery in the trunk area because there isn't enough space under the hood, it doesn't matter if the battery is under the hood or the trunk, you just run a thick positive cable to the positive post on the 2nd battery then just ground both battery's to a solid piece of metal... To lower the resistance strain off your alternator run the negative cable to the negative post on the 2nd battery and run another negative cable to the alternator's metal case, that's if you have enough wire and a stock alternator.
Can i use s normal car battery or do i need an audio battery
Damm dude your voice sounds alot like jack blacks voice, i bet you could do a really good impression.
I have a 475 watt almplifier and some big ass subwoofers, and it is connected to my car battery, do you hace any idea of how long can i keep the music on with the car off, until my battery runs low?
+alexandra oliveira Maybe 30 minutes. All vehicles and batteries are different
Fast, Electronic and Loud lol I did 2 hours on a crappy 300 watts dual 2 in one sub and amp box and it lasted that much
