As a die hard Washington fan who spent WAY to many hours analyzing everything about Kirk Cousins, his agent, his father and everything you could possibly imagine I learned (a long time back) that he is a gangster. A PR champion with marketing/skillset/... he's just absolutely knowledgeable and capable in the business end of everything. He bent Dan Snyder over and got paid the most he could, didn't even come to the table a few times just because he knew he didn't have too.
Everything he has done has made him just more valuable even though he's never won the big one and often leaves teams frustrated. He has some magical capability, some talent that his entire family/agent work together and use to manipulate us all. I bet he has bodies buried somewhere.
I was thinking that, too. As a vikings fan, I just didn't see any kind of potential in him, when we first signed him.

1. he's not a running qb so the injury shouldnt be a concern
2. in the past 5 years PFF has graded Cousins as the 9th, 9th, 6th, 11th and 6th. so 45m a year for a top 10 QB
3. his EPA + CPOE last year before injury ranked 5th, behind Dak, Purdy, Allen and Tua. So Fringe Mvp status
4. he's 74-60-2 as a starter, he's never finished worse than 7-9, completion percentage at 68%, INT percentage at 2% and has averaged 4500 throwing yards a season.

Combine that with a great new coach, lots of offensive weapons and a weak division. Theyre obviously not super bowl contenders but they certainly raised their floor and should make the playoffs next year.
